slow start

Wednesday, October 23, 2013

I have been on Spark for a while now and I think I am just now getting it. I have just been exercising and slacking on keeping track of what I am eating. It finally occurred to me that I am not seeing results because I eat more than I exercise. Really silly that it took me so long to get that. LOL. So now I am going to track my food, my SMART goal is to do it 3 time a week. Once I get used to doing it that often, it will eventually become a habit. Then watch out, hot mamma her I come. LOL. I may even go crazy and actually read the Spark, seeing as how I bought it 2 months ago. It is currently being used as a paperweight. Guess I need to have a little reality check with myself.

I've also recently considered attempting to do the 3 times per week thing to kick out one of my bad habits (eating nothing but cookies and donuts for breakfast every day) but haven't quite been able to conjure up the commitment to really do it. The cookies just call to me...and the oatmeal does not! Kudos to you for setting some new healthy goals and remember: A slow start is better than no start!

I had to laugh when I read your post. I've had these things occur to me as well, but some days it's a lot harder for me to track than others. I know emoticon When I do track I always find it interesting to look at the report. Lots of good info to help adjust what's not working.

Tracking really is key. I keep falling out of the habit of doing it but today is day 3 for the week. My goal is to track M-Sat this week. I love having the spark app on my phone. It really does help me track more often then if I had to wait until I sit in front of my computer. emoticon

trying something new

Tuesday, October 15, 2013

I have been going to Zumba regularly. Today I am going to try the full body workout at the Y. I am a little apprehensive because it is new and also it is out of my comfort zone. I am going to give it a try and hope that I don't die. LOL. I want to be a little less complacent with my workouts and am going to try something new. emoticon

Of course you can do it. I hope you like it. Getting out of our comfort zone should be a Spark exercise actually worth 20 points.

Good for you!! I tried zumba few years ago, and I still love it, even though I can't go to classes due to some financial problems.
You just keep at it! emoticon

rain rain go away

Monday, October 14, 2013

There is just something about a rainy Monday that makes me want to go back to bed. Plus, the rain is making my hair super crazy. LOL. I am hopeful about my weight loss journey for this week. I need to figure out my meals a little better so that I don't end up grazing. I notice that I graze while trying to figure out dinner. Then by the time it is dinner time I am full. emoticon Then after dinner, before bed, I am starving. LOL. It is a vicious cycle. Hope everyone has a great week.

stairs to success

Monday, October 07, 2013

I recently moved to an office in the basement. I know it sounds like they are trying to get rid of me. LOL. I actually asked to move because I have a desk job, I need to walk more. My new office is going to force me to have to get up and move way more often than my old office. I am pretty excited, I painted it and it feels very homey. I have already walked 6,000 steps and that is more than triple what I would normally walk. I think that this was a great choice for me and hopefully will jump start my weight loss. I needed to do something, having a desk job while you are trying to lose weight is awful. SO here I go! emoticon

Very positive and congrats on making a change you have to keep making. So many of us make changes we can get out of if we want but you are down in that basement and reaching for the stars. emoticon

Monday blahs

Monday, September 09, 2013

My first thought this morning was not a happy one. I am desperately trying to change my mood, I am cranky and tired. I hope that my new work schedule will make it easier for me to work out in the morning. I would imagine that working out first thing would be quite a mood booster. My current job prevents me from working out in the morning, unless I want to get up at 3 a.m. emoticon

Hang in there! When I wake up in a mood like that and I have to work hard to improve my attitude but I am able to do it. Sometimes I made a gratitude list or pray or listen to my favorite silly music. I try anything I can to change it and it works. You can control how your days goes by your attitude!
