Satisfy: To gratify wants, wishes or desires to the full extent…1828 Webster's dictionary

"And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not." Is. 58:11

The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever. Ps. 22:26

"They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures." Ps. 36:8

Isn't it interesting that NEVER does it say that FOOD will satisfy!

Often I've tried to fill my emptiness with food but it NEVER, EVER meets my deepest hunger. The LORD promises to make our bones fat and our souls like watered gardens through heavenly manna. He promises that the meek can eat and be satisfied. So it got me thinking HOW important it is to be MEEK.

Primarily, meekness has to do with humility.

When I'm humbling myself before the LORD and communing and connecting with Him with a contrite heart, then I'm promised that I will be satisfied when I eat! WHAT A PROMISE! He completely meets our needs.

This song says it all! HUNGRY for YOU, Jesus!

Only Jesus can truly fill the void in our intermost being. Food is tangible and so easy to reach for. Trusting the Lord to fill the void, takes faith and prayer. But He is an awesome God, who knows and cares for our needs--How good He is to us. Love you, Karen

Have a blessed day!

February goals revisited

Sunday, February 27, 2011

Well, it's time to evaluate my month! In all honesty, it doesn't feel like that great of a month--probably my worst since starting SparkPeople in July 2010. But the LORD gave me such hope this morning with this verse:

"Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy; when I fall, I SHALL ARISE; when I sit in darkness, THE LORD shall be LIGHT unto me." Micah 7:8

Physical goals:

1. 400 weekly minutes of cardio

This will include training for 5K across Lake Superior on March 5th

I'm not going to be participating in this event due to several factors. And it was my WORST exercise month since starting SP. So I did not achieve this goal, but March WILL BE a different story! emoticon

Snow shoe @ least once in February emoticon But I didn't like it at all and fell flat on my face. I think I need another session with someone experienced and that KNOWS how to fit the boot to the snowshoe.

Possibly plan a trip to Ice Caves--DID NOT do this, and to be honest, I'm having trouble getting over my fear of going on the ice of Lake Superior! Maybe I'll overcome by next year! emoticon

2. Strength exercise 3-5 x weekly emoticon

Making progress in this area.

3. lose 1# in February and hit normal BMI and change my weight loss icon to 40#'s lost.

Well, INSTEAD of losing a #, I GAINED a pound! emoticon But I'm revisiting my plans and trying not to get 'hung up' over the scales!

4. daily neck exercises emoticon

Definitely being consistent in this area and I think seeing some noticeable changes.

Spiritual goals:

1. Bible time and prayer time daily BEFORE computer time! emoticon

I'm ESPECIALLY happy that I'm doing this one! By His rich and wonderful grace, I made time with the LORD priority over time on the computer.

2. Read 1 Cor. 13 daily

I keep FORGETTING to do this! I need to look over my monthly goals, DAILY so I can work my plan better.

Enjoy LIFE goals:

1.Shopping morning with Mary emoticon
2.Valentine's party for the kids emoticon
3.One craft project w/Mary and Sammy emoticon

Rescheduled home schooling recital due to sickness and a change of plans for March. Also, did NOT work on my scrapbook all month.

Cooking goals:
1. Make SparkPeople recipes--made a few, but need to work my plan better
2. menu planning emoticon

Now to work on MARCH goals. It will definitely be a different month! I'll be traveling with my dh and 2 youngest children for 1/2 the month; and then our DEAREST 2nd born son has decided to move back from Wyoming so we will be very busy with him. BUT working my goals will still be a priority!

Susan, this was my worst month since starting SP, too. I wanted to join the Daisy team and posted all my grand goals for the world to see. Somehow I missed the invite to the team. But was probably a blessing for them because my exercise has been hit and miss the past 2-3 weeks.

What I was going to say to you to encourage you I am saying to myself as well. We did much better together than we would have alone. We met some goals we can be happy about. We will keep going and daily get closer to what we seek.

I admire your spiritual goal and am now making it my own. Your life goals were met. What a blessing your children have in having you as their mom. Chin up!

Take a look at yourself and pretend you are someone else. What would you say to that gal. emoticon Bet you'd be kinder to her than you are yourself. You are AMAZING. Love you sweet lady. journey_of_selfdiscovery

My dear SparkFriend, Kristi, gave me this link to read after my 'miserable' detour the other night! I just can't tell you how much this article ministered to me! Yes, I had a 'flat tire' the other night, but life goes on! It's DEFINITELY not the end of the journey, only another event to solidify things in my heart and life! Jesus is SO patient, and loving, and forgiving; He definitely will see me through the detours and I WILL enjoy the continued journey--NOT just to reach the destination, but settle in and savor the scenery along the way! emoticon

And WORDS are absolutely inadequate to express my gratitude and love for my DEAREST SparkPeople friends who encouraged me in a dark hour! THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart! I love you!!!!!!!
