Eat the FROG first! ;-)

"Procrastination is attitude's natural assassin. There is nothing so fatiguing as an uncompleted task."

William James, one of the founders of modern psychology, spoke those words. And how true they are!

"A few years ago, I heard a tip about procrastination that I never forgot. For me, it truly was an "a-ha moment!"

Well, here it is...with a warning: Once you see this 2 minute movie, it'll be hard to forget!" Simple Truths

Monday's Musings! :-)

Monday, February 07, 2011

Hello, my PRECIOUS SP friends! {{{{hugs to all}}}

For those who watched Superbowl XLV--WASN'T that an exciting game. For my VERY dear Steeler's friends [especially: ABETTERSOUL, VISUALLYRICS, BLESSEDMAZARS, DETERMINEDJANET, ], I'm very sorry for your loss; however, I can't HIDE my ECSTATIC feelings that the PACKERS won. My 20 year old posted this on FACEBOOK: "There are seriously no words or font sizes capable of expressing how ecstatic I am that the GREEN BAY PACKERS WON THE SUPERBOWL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Well, that says it all! He was so excited that I could BARELY understand him when he called! emoticon

LOVE this couple at our local parade!

We had Broiled Tilapia Parmesan for supper! YUMMY!!!!

Well, I made a HUGE decision today and wanted to share it with my dear friends. I'm going to do a 'computer' fast once a week--probably Wednesdays; I will spin the wheel, but other than that, I'm taking one day off a week. I really feel it will help me do more LIFE sparking and less 'staring at a computer' Sparking! ha! One of my goals is to watch the 3 new exercise DVD's I got today at the library. emoticon

I'm TICKLED PINK to report that I got outside with -7 windchills and went for a 45 minute 3 mile walk. THANKING JESUS for giving me the desire and grace! When my dh came in tonight, the first question out of his mouth was, "Did you walk in this weather?" And I was SO excited to say, YES!

or would this be a better visual:

Finally, I had to make a special trip to town because I walked RIGHT SMACK into an open cabinet today and TOTALLY destroyed my glasses! UGH! Living up to my nickname **again**: GRACE!!!!! emoticon I've been kind of klutzy my whole life! emoticon

Well, that's all for tonight!

{{{{love and hugs}}}}

Thanks for your sympathy on "our" loss and honorable mention! emoticon It was good game, no, a great game. I love a Superbowl that keep you hanging till the end. And though we lost, we weren't disappointed with the game not being good. I am happy for you and Green Bay. They truly are my SECOND favorite team. It's hard to not love the Steelers if you are from the area (and the fact that my dad was a steel worker doesn't help either).

Hope you get your glasses fixed soon! I know that's not fun. Glad you weren't hurt worse!

I've been doing the same kind of things with the internet. I am tracking my food, too, but every other day, I'm "fasting".

You are the greatest!!!! emoticon

I had forgotten that Susan means graceful. I had a friend growing up that was named Susan, and she was anything but graceful. We used to joke about that all the time. You are a much better person than me, going out in that weather to exercise. I struggle with it because my glasses fog up and that annoys me. Also, I don't like being too cold. Sorry about your glasses.

Glasses can be replaced. Glad you weren't hurt (the cabinet needs to stay where it belongs!!).

The internet fast sounds like a marvelous idea. I keep thinking about a total food fast, but think trying to keep food intake to 1200 calories is already a fast!! HAH

Have a wonderful day, my precious friend. Even in the cold.

:0)...fasting from the internet can only lead to good things :0). I often do the same---ok maybe I do partial fasts since I always have to check my boys' online schoolwork, but one does seem to get more accomplished on days will LESS modern conveniences! LOVE tilapia---have you ever tried orange roughie? It has a similar texture but a lighter flavor and it does not flake as much---made a fab recipe using some bacon and lots of chopped veggies as a filling :0). emoticon

I've been going down those stairs for 13 years---how do you forget that they are there??? LOL!!! Great job on walking today in spite of the weather. I took the day off--hopefully back to the gym tomorrow. I did do the quickfire challenge though! Enjoy your evening!! emoticon Karen

Not a bad ideo on the SP "fast" each week. I do take time off on the weekends beginning Saturday p.m. through either Sunday mid-afternoon or evening. Depends.

Dreaming of Spring--Picture of quilt

Sunday, February 06, 2011

This morning I was COVERED up in my quilt of love that my mother made me--actually it's just a little lap quilt, but SO nice when I don't want something super heavy or if I want to just drape something over my shoulders.

And this is the LOVELY poem she WROTE for it:

"When winter comes and it's cold and bleak,
and your beautiful flowers are fast asleep,
Cover your sweet arms under this winter garden of love
and dream what Spring will bring…"

This is what my flower gardens look like NOW:

but DREAMING of this:

What a beautiful quilt and a lovely poem, made by a mom who obviously loves you very much. You will treasure that quilt even more someday. I was reading your goals, and I too would like to fit back into my wedding dress someday. I think it was a size 11, but back then (1970--a LONG time ago), a think a size 11 was smaller than it is now, and I know my body, although I might not be far from what I weighed on my wedding day, is definitely a different shape. After 3 babies, and several major weight losses and gains and losses and gains, etc. it's never going to be the same.

Hold on--Spring's coming!!

I am hoping to get a garden and landscape our yard some this year. We are having several trees taken down in order to allow for sunshine to reach the yard---AND the pool which in this NEPA weather tends to stay too cold without direct sunlight!
