Rejoicing in the day of "Small Beginnings"

Sunday, November 14, 2010

"Who [art] thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel [thou shalt become] a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone [thereof with] shoutings, [crying], Grace, grace unto it."

I was a little downcast this morning because it was so cold outside and still snowing; I thought HOW am I going to continue exercising??? Well, when I had my time with Jesus I told Him my feelings and waited on Him and asked for GRACE! He ANSWERED my prayer and I'm hear to 'speak of the glory of His kingdom and talk of His power'. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticonJESUS!!!!!

I felt empowered by His grace to walk 3 miles IN THE SNOW. Put my snowsuit on, gloves, hat, scarf and boots and headed out. About 5 minutes into my walk, the JOY of the LORD came upon me and I started laughing on the road, rejoicing in the victories HE GIVES! So this is the first walk while snowing since I joined SP on July 12th. I have MANY months ahead but I feel confident that if the LORD could give me grace today, that He will continue.

Here's a picture celebrating 3 miles! emoticon

    I like to walk in the snow also--as long as the wind isn't blowing too hard. The crisp air is refreshing and it just makes you feel invigorated. Have a great day today--God bless.

    I love to cross-country ski in the woods. It is so peaceful and beautiful! All you hear is the swooshing of the skis and the jabbing of the ski poles in the snow. I come away feeling invigorated from the crisp, cool air!! Hubby and I are going to look into getting snowshoes, too!!

    SW Wisconsin and no snow . . . yet! Saw some cars in a restaurant parking lot after church with several inches of snow on top. Wonder where they drove in from! Went to the basement and did 60 minutes on the "antique" stationary bike. It works for me.

    When I lived up north, I enjoyed walking and playing in the snow and the warm shower, dry clothes and hot chocolate afterward. It seems more invigorating to me to be outside when it's cooler rather than in the heat and humidity of FL. Glad you went with your feeling and had a fun time. -- Lou

    Rejoicing with you! I put snowshoes on my Christmas gift idea list this year -- think they might really help on days like you have today! I've just got cold to deal with today. Your blog pushed away any thoughts of "it's too cold; I'll just stay inside" -- Thanks for inspiring me!!

First snowman

Such a beautiful, clingy snow…

A little winter 'interest' outside my kitchen window…

Falling Snow
by anonymous

See the pretty snowflakes
Falling from the sky;
On the wall and housetops
Soft and thick they lie.

On the window ledges,
On the branches bare;
Now how fast they gather,
Filling all the air.

Look into the garden,
Where the grass was green;
Covered by the snowflakes,
Not a blade is seen.

Now the bare black bushes
All look soft and white,
Every twig is laden,
What a pretty sight!

    I live in Wisconsin, but we do not have that much snow yet. Just flurries though it was the wet clingy snow. The ground has a little white to it, but not much. I know our time will come soon enough. Knew it was coming, but I am just not ready for it. Plus we will be moving the weekend after Thanksgiving, so hope it is descent weather for that. Take care and Stay Warm!

Precious Susan ~

The snow looks beautiful in the photographs! At this stage of my life that is where I like to see the beauty of ‘the great equalizer’ – in photographs!

We are getting light flurries & I am praying that that is all the good Lord sends. I’d like winter snows to be confined to the twenty-four hours of March 2nd only! With seventy degree weather the rest of the year! Is that asking too much? emoticon

Peace to you!

Ima

    Looks like you have more snow than we do. We are getting more snow right now. We only get an inch or so at a time. We can't make snowmen with our snow, it is just like powder, not wet and clingy. Enjoy your winter.

    I have been in FL for 30 years now but the top picture of the bird feeder reminds me of our back yard in Illinois and the fun times we had with the snow. Sure, there were bad times when we were snowed in but I mean the good times when we could make a snow figure and have snowball fights. Last week my young niece (8) and nephews (10) and (13) said they had never seen snow and wouldn't know what to do if they did. I bet they'd build a snow fort and make snow angels like we all used to do. Thanks for the pictures and the memories. Stay warm. -- Lou

GRINDER

Thursday, November 11, 2010

HI Lori and Janet! emoticon

I decided to make a blog out of this, just in case anyone else was interested in the grinder. We've been grinding our own grains for 21 years and this is our 2nd grinder. They are *THE* best investment!

www.pleasanthillgrain.com/index.aspx
#Nutrimill

Also, we've been using the Bosch bread machine for over 20 years, as well. This is a WONDERFUL product. You can knead 10#'s of dough and make 7 loaves of bread from one batch [baked in the oven, not a bread machine].

ersal_Plus_Mixer_MUM6N10UC.aspx

Hope this helps.

Much love to all my SP friends! You're the GREATEST!!!!!!!

    Thanks so much for sending the link for the Bosch mixer. I wish I had this 20 years ago when I first started having children. I was making bread each day, just a couple loaves at a time because that is all my Kitchen Aid would handle. Now I have a bread machine that I have about worn out after 15 years. The Bosch mixer looks like just the answer and really affordable! emoticon
