A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...

Sunday, March 08, 2009

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
enough money within her control to move out
and rent a place of her own,
even if she never wants to or needs to...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ..
something perfect to wear if the employer,
or date of her dreams wants to see her in an hour...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE .
a youth she's content to leave behind....

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE
a past juicy enough that she's looking forward to
retelling it in her old age....

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ..
a set of screwdrivers, a cordless drill, and a black lace bra...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ..
one friend who always makes her laugh..
and one who lets her cry...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
a good piece of furniture not previously owned by anyone else
in her family...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ..
eight matching plates, wine glasses with stems,
and a recipe for a meal, that will make her guests feel honored...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE
a feeling of control over her destiny..

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
how to fall in love without losing herself..

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
how to quit a job,
break up with a lover,
and confront a friend without;
ruining the friendship...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
when to try harder... and WHEN TO WALK AWAY...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
that she can't change the length of her calves,
the width of her hips, or the nature of her parents..

EVERY WOMAN SHOUL D KNOW...
that her childhood may not have been perfect...but it's over...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
what she would and wouldn't do for love or more...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW....
how to live alone... even if she doesn't like it...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW..
whom she can trust,
whom she can't,
and why she shouldn't take it personally...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
where to go...
be it to her best friend's kitchen table..
or a charming Inn in the woods.... when her soul needs
soothing...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW..
What she can and can't accomplish in a day...
a month...and a year...

AND REMEMBER:

GOOD FRIENDS ARE LIKE STARS.

YOU DON'T ALWAYS SEE THEM,

BUT YOU ALWAYS KNOW THEY ARE
THERE!!!!!!

Be yourself...everyone else is
already
taken.

My favorite part is the end, about Good Friends! This is all true, except for the part about
not being able to change the width of your hips. Ahem. You know you can, girlfriend. emoticon

I used this like a checklist as I read it and scored pretty high, making me remember to be grateful for the state my life is in today. Thank you for the inventory tool. And the comment about mad money is such a chuckle, but used to be an absolute necessity!

I like that! Great words to live by:) The first line about having enough money to move out made me think of something I heard on the Bonnie Hunt show the other day. She was talking about where the term Mad Money came from...it was from back in the day, when women didn't pay for dates. They were advised to always have enough money on them to get themselves home if they got mad at their date. I thought that was interesting!

Many Blessings

Saturday, March 07, 2009

I'm sure you have heard the expression, "What you see is what you get." In my experience this is a strong phrase when it comes to attracting the things I desire in life. That's because what we choose to see and focus on is likely to come to pass! Many of my clients have heard me talk about the value of visualizations to increase health, attract wealth, and improve relationships. In these difficult times, I thought that it would be a good idea to bring this up.

The idea of using visualization to attract desired items or situations is not a new one. Visionaries like Norman Vincent Peale, Dale Carnegie, and Zig Ziglar understood the power of visualizing what you want and where you want to go. They shared this message with the public, and over time their knowledge bore fruit for many who tried and benefited from their techniques. As a result, visualizations have become a popular, simple, and effective method for manifesting what you want to come to pass.

Marion, many goals can be achieved through visualization, and it is a relatively simple technique to undertake. You just need to take the time on a regular basis to imagine things you want to have happen in your life as if they have already come to pass. And you can combat pesky, negative thoughts by replacing them with visions of what you desire to create.

The more detailed you make your visualizations, the more powerful they will be. Begin by picturing what you want in your mind's eye. Once you have achieved this step, extend your creative visualizations to include sounds, smells, tastes, and feelings associated with the object or situation you desire. This last step will dramatically increase the effectiveness of your visualization.

Let me give you an example. If you want a new car, visualize the car in your mind's eye or picture it in your driveway. Then make your visualization more effective by imagining yourself in the driver's seat, feeling the luxury of the seats, enjoying the fabulous sound system, smelling the new car smell, and enjoying the feeling of acceleration and handling of the vehicle. By making your experience as full and complete as possible, you will be sending out many messages to the Universe to fill your order for a new car.

And be sure to thank the Universe before you have already received what it is you desire. Acting as if you already have it and expressing gratitude actually increases the power of your visualizations even more!

Marion, I hope you will find these tips on visualization helpful and that you'll give them a try. I feel sure that as you apply these ideas you will be pleased with the results. I also feel confident you will find your Health, Wealth and Happiness forecast helpful in bringing you the many things you deserve in life.

Many blessings,

Plan It to Get It Done

Thursday, March 05, 2009

You want to lose 50 pounds, and you want it bad! You can even envision your inner, svelte self wearing impossibly hip clothes. Yet, year after year, the pounds stick around. What's going to be different this time? You're going to have a plan!
Without a plan, reaching long-term goals may seem overwhelming or too distant. Setting smaller short-term goals will help you stay on track. Do this right now — identify and write down small goals to achieve on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis that will help you meet your long- term goal. Examples include preparing healthy snacks to take to work each day, working out three times a week, and learning five new healthy recipes a month.

While setting and reaching a goal in itself is rewarding, sometimes a little external motivation is needed. So, as you write down short-term goals think of incentives to keep you going and list them right next to each goal.

This makes sense and is something I need to work on. So far, I think I have been keeping on track with my eating and exercise because you have been setting goals for me (through the challenges). I don't suppose you are going to come set goals for my other issues - work, home, kids, family, will you? Please?

I guess I need to start figuring out how to do this. I will pick one new area and come up with a small goal and reward system. (AGGH! Just saying that makes me want to freak out because I am so far behind, it's overwhelming!) OK, panic over. I can do this.

I am strong. I am invincible. (Altogether now...) I am WOMAN!

Day Three

Wednesday, March 04, 2009

Actually day three was a bust for me because I have to work Tuesdays, but I certainly burn the calories doing what I do with all the lifting and carrying of stalk for the seven hours I'm there. ANd my eating, That's the only thing because I have no problems with the way I eat either on those days. I have my usual breakfast come home for lunch take my s=nacks withm me and have a bottle of water with me all day long. And when I come home i hve my alreday planned out dinner. It's all good!
