Every craftsman that I know has a toolbox of tools and a number of techniques that help bring inspiration into form. In the same way, throughout our lives, we discover our own life tools and techniques—the ways and means that have helped us create our lives up to this point. However there are times we get so caught up with our lives that we forget about the tools and skills we’ve acquired, and we wonder why we aren’t moving forward. At times like these, it might just be a matter of remembering what we already know, and rediscovering the tools we already have at our disposal.
In the process of becoming who we are and creating our lives, we have all gone through the experience of being inspired to do something and then finding the tools we needed to do it. If we look back, we may be able to remember that we used, for example, the tool of writing every day in order to clarify our intentions. We may also have used the tools of ritual, meditation, or visualization to make something happen. In addition, we may have been fueled by a new idea about how the universe works, which is what gave us the inspiration to use these tools.
In order for ideas to be powerful, they must be imbued with the energy of our engagement with them, and in order for tools to be effective they must be put to use. This sounds obvious, but often we fall into the habit of thinking we are engaging with ideas and using tools by virtue of the fact that we are reading about them, or listening to other people talk about them. In truth, using our tools is a very personal action, one we must take on behalf of ourselves. Like artists, we are each unique and no two of us will receive the same inspiration, nor will we bring it into form in the same two ways. To discover the truth of our own vision, we must take action by remembering our tools and putting them to use.

I have come to the conclusion that maintaining vitality and enthusiasm for life is an important aspect to living well. But all the multi-tasking and constant rushing about I do on a daily basis can make it difficult to keep my energy up at times. When I think about it, with so many balls in the air and such high personal expectations, it is no wonder that people feel drained and exhausted at the end of each day.
Why do we push our selves beyond our limits to be rushed and harried on a daily basis, and then still complain of fatigue and a lack of energy? What I say, is that there is a way to keep our energy levels up, so that we can feel happier and more in control of our lives.
I like to think about energy like I think about money. If you continually withdraw money from your bank account without putting it back, eventually you will be overdrawn. In real life, the bank charges hefty fees for this practice. However, when it comes to our energy levels, the toll exacted on our body, mind and spirit is even heavier when our energy reserve is depleted. To continue with my money/energy analogy, if you haven't been putting money aside, you won't be able to pay your bills, and if you haven't been looking after your energy levels, you are likely to feel lifeless and listless.
So, how do you keep your energy up? First, think about what might be depleting you in the first place. It could be an emotional or physical drain. It could be a job, a specific person or an unpleasant task, too much technology, time constraints, negative people, etc. Whatever this drain may be, I suggest thinking of ways to eliminate it or cut way back on it.
Budgeting energy is one way to make things better, but we need to have regular energy coming in as well. To this end,we need to think about the things that make us happy and then I suggest doing some of these things regularly with the goal of building up our energy bank. I thoroughly enjoy this step, because people light up when they talk about the things they love. It is great relief to realize that while it is important to take time for ourselves, it is essential due to the multi-tasking and added pressures most of us experience in today's world.
I can honestly say that every friend who has made a concerted effort to reduce their negative energy drains, all the while building up positive energy doing things they love, has reported feeling better, having more energy, and enjoying life more fully. That is a powerful testimony to this practice. So, if you feel your energy bank is running low, try building it back up by making time to do things that fill you with joy and peace. My guess is that you'll be recharged in no time.

I know there are times when I feel the need to wash away my troubles; to feel that relief and freshness. And since the most cleansing substance on this earth is water, think of the joy the rain brings as an exuberant cleanse, rejuvenating the mind, body and spirit. Just being able to spend a few moments in the rain makes me aware of the healing powers water brings and how it can renew in so many ways. As we do this we will find that the more we appreciate the universe’s gift to us in the form of rain, the more we can see that a gentle rain shower is a strong reflective tool that has the ability to cleanse our entire being.
The next time it rains there's a good chance I'll be out in it simply for the experience through all the senses, to truly understand just how important each and every drop of water is. But before I do, you do, stop and take a few minutes to notice how each individual raindrop seems to come down in a continual stream. By noticing this you can contemplate how it takes many small accomplishments to create the whole of our existence, for nothing exists in isolation. Then focus your attention on the sound of the rainfall, letting the sounds of each drop penetrate into the innermost recesses of your self. Listening in this way brings a greater sense of connection with nature and the world around you, knowing that the sounds you hear are an integral part of not just the physical sustenance you require but also nourish your spirit as well.
Consciously using our senses to feel nature’s healing energy as it comes to us in the form of rain is an act of internal cleansing. Just as the rain physically washes over the earth and rinses out any impurities and imperfections, so it also bathes our spirit in the joy that comes from knowing that we are in fact one with the world around us.

Learning to trust our intuition is something that can connect us with our higher selves. Sometimes it might not seem easy to do because our thoughts and minds far to often get in the way. But by accessing our innermost self, we will find that the information we receive is usually what we truly need at that precise moment. One of the techniques that enables me to really get in touch with my deepest fount of wisdom is using my body as a pendulum. The simple act of letting my physical being lead me in a certain direction offers extremely deep insights and helps find the answers I am in search of.
Many of us may have tried using a pendulum or crystal on a chain as a dousing tool to acquire the information we need to make decisions or even find lost objects. Using our bodies puts us more closely in tune with our inner beings. The process of using our bodies as pendulums is to ask our higher self a question and wait for your body to respond in either a forward-tilting or backward-tilting motion. The first step is to truly understand how our higher self communicates with us by centering our bodies, asking ourselves the directions for yes and no, and noting which way our body moves. For a lot of people a forward motion is yes, and our body tilting backward is a no answer. It is easier to start with simple questions at first to understand how our higher self communicates with us. As we become more used to the messages we receive and how we process them, we can start asking for more specific things such as which foods would best for our bodies. Using this technique in the grocery store can be extremely helpful.
Since we are always present in our bodies, understanding how we can use our bodies as pendulums is a tool we can use at any given moment in our lives. Letting our bodies tell us what is happening inside will in turn help to guide us through not just daily but also major life decisions. The more we allow our bodies to open up and share with us the connection it has with our deeper self, the better able we will be to truly access the knowledge we hold so deeply within
That being said..Today would be a good day for deep contemplation, regarding your personal and professional futures that you may have written off as unworkable in the past. A freethinking mood can inspire you to seek out insights in daydreams from your past. This can be a wonderful time to muse upon the careers, hobbies, and roles that excite you yet always seemed to far-fetched to pursue. Likewise, a broad-minded outlook can compel you to ask yourself if your chosen path is as fulfilling as you imagined it would be. As you explore a wider range of beliefs, teachings, and aspirations than ever before, you may discover that your thoughts are expansive and you are seeing avenues where you once only saw roadblocks.
Our minds blossom like flowers opening to sunshine when we allow ourselves to ponder possibilities both mundane and extraordinary. There are times in our lives when we feel that we must limit ourselves to contemplating only those prospects that seem most practical. In restricting our futures this way, we actually rob ourselves of the chance to experience new worlds of information and sensation. Enlightenment can only be achieved through exploration and that exploration must include not only those lands we deem safe but also those that challenge our sensibilities. The borders of our minds expand when we envision the astonishing and the unexpected as if they were facts. When you give your mind free reign to imagine today, you’ll find insights in your broad-minded musings.
