Believing in YOU

WHAT IF?

What if you truly committed to change? What if you knew that your resolution of losing weight, getting fit or eating healthy would help save your life, avoid a heart attack or ward off disease? What if the shift you made today would allow you witness your son/daughter's graduation or wedding? What if you altered a destructive pattern or behavior in order to do more, give more - and feel better about yourself now and in the future? How deep is your desire to make your own dreams become a reality?

"Dreams come true when desire transforms them into concrete action. Ask life for great gifts and you encourage life to deliver to you." -- Napoleon

As humans, we often wait for a traumatic event to occur before we wake up and take action. This reactive mode is far from the most effective approach, but sadly, it is the most common. Sometimes, it takes a tragedy to show us what's important or a potentially fatal diagnosis to initiate a change in our behavior. This is a reactive approach.

The onset of a new year invites us to consciously choose to be proactive. To reflect, plan, vision, dream and create - with intention and commitment.

For this reason, New Year's resolutions are abundant. Unfortunately, the abandonment of these resolutions is rampant. More than 80% of people who make resolutions fail. Why? Sometimes, unrealistic goals are set, the desire to change is just not there, or the status quo is comfortable "enough." The extra weight, low energy levels, hum-drum job, poor self-care habits, lack of quality time with family - works on some level. But, how well?

If we are truly honest with ourselves - what areas of our life need shifting? Where is it NOT okay to continue with the status quo? In order to make real change, we must be willing to sacrifice, give up, release something and build our discipline muscle to stay-the-course. And, it may be uncomfortable. Change is uncomfortable. But, how uncomfortable are we willing to be to improve our lives?

"And the day came when the risk (it took) to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom." --Anais Nin

In business, analysis strategies like risk/reward and cost/benefit exist to help us evaluate the effectiveness of an intervention or change versus the status quo. This New Year, I invite you to look at the areas of your life that you believe need intervention. Make resolutions wisely - commit to those things where the long-term benefit is greater than the short-term cost.

What if you could truly change your life? What if you stretched outside of your comfort zone and used your discipline muscle to create what you want. What if?

Believing in you,

My Secret

Wednesday, January 06, 2010

I am learning that to change my life quickly, using gratatitude to shift my energy ; what am I most most greatful for?
When we put all of our energy into gratitude we should see the miracles take place in our lives.
To change things quickly I have committed to writing 100 things I am grateful for each day, until I see the changes taking place. And FEEL the gratitiude. The power is in the feeling we put into it the words of gratitude.

Because whatever the feelings we have within we are attracting our tomorrow.
We know worry attrats worry and anxiety attracts more anxiety so on and so forth.

AND...
Joy attracts more joy. Happiness attracts more happiness. Peace attracts more peace. Gratitude attracts more gratitiude etc etc.
Our job is an inside one. To change our world all we have to do is change the way we feel inside. How easy is

Happiness is definitely an inside job. Things do not bring us lasting happiness - only our attitude can do this for us.

Again - great blog. I am off to start my "gratitude list".

Living Your Dreams!

Wednesday, January 06, 2010

"Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time.
Vision with action can change the world."
-Joel Barker
Stop Dreaming. Can you imagine anyone being serious about that? Dreaming is a natural part of who we are. We explore our dreams and develop personal dreams. We even like to dream BIG! Our dreams become part of who we are. We then adopt our dreams into how we see ourselves and want our lives to be. That type of dreaming we often refer to as visualization.

We know we're not going to stop dreaming, but we can change how we visualize. For the most part our dreams and visualizations focus on the end result. We see ourselves in love, married, driving a great car, on vacation, with tons of money, in a great career, famous, etc. Sounds good to me, how about you? Why not dream about all this and more? Dreaming about the end result is just fantasizing and wishing. Wishing relies on some magical force to make our dreams turn into reality, and we become unhappy as we're not living our dreams.

I have never felt the power of wishes coming true. I have never actual met a Genie or have a taken a ride on a magic carpet. It doesn't mean that dreams can't come true, it just means that there is no magical force waiting to deliver your dreams to you. So how do you make your dreams come true? That is a question we all often struggle with. Even though we struggle with the answer, the answer is not that obscure. We make our dreams come true with the action we take.

Dreaming about being in shape will not get you in shape.
Dreaming about being rich will not get you rich.
Dreaming about being famous will not get you famous.
Dreaming about the end result will not make it happen.

If you want to get in shape you have to work out.
If you want to make money, you have to be in action to earn money.
If you want to be famous, you have to put yourself in a position to become famous.
If you want the end results, you have to do the actions required to get there.
See the movie of your life in your visions. Imagine going to a movie and arriving at the very end, how interesting would that be? In order to understand why and how it ended you need to see the sequence of events that lead up to the end. In order to make your dreams come true you need to see the sequence of events that you must take to make the end result make sense.

Change the way you dream and visualize yourself into a movie which incorporates the actions you need to take to achieve the end result. If you dream about being in shape, then change your dream to see yourself working out and eating right day by day. See the beginning of the dream and let the dream build day by day with all the action that gets you to the end dream of you being in shape.

If you want riches, then change the dream. Dream of yourself going to school, developing a career, working hard and taking the steps to arrive at the destination.

If you want love, love the process. Love the dating process and the rejections. Love yourself and the journey to find love. Make a movie, a love movie in your head and develop the scenes.
Make all your dreams include the beginning middle and end. Make movies out of your dreams and see the journey. Then when you are doing the action instead of thinking to yourself, "This is a drag, I don't like working out." Or if you are having any negative thoughts about doing the work it takes to create your visions, realize then that every step of the way you are living your dream. You are living your dream because you made the action and journey part of your dream.

You can start living your dreams today by changing the way you dream. Then everyday is a dream and you can be happy doing the action, by living your dreams.

Thanks so much for an inspiring and motivating blog.

We can want "it" all we want but to get "it", we have to take action.

Just for you...

I'M AMOURED UP!

Sunday, January 03, 2010

For me I'm not making resolutions of any kind this year! Instead I'm REVOLTING against this insanity of being overweight! It stops here and now! I've had it up to here! I'll be damned if I'm still wearing size 18 by the end of 2010! This is a 365 day revolution! It's mind body and spirit all the way! NO EXCUSES! NO LIMITS! THE FIGHT IS ON! I'M AMOURED UP!
My power from this day forward lies in initiation. I am a winner by virtue of my desire, belief, vision, and intention. I bring fresh inspiration into the world and am ""master of my domain.""

Care if I join you by Armouring up to fight this battle of the bulge.

I am pushing out of my size 16 pants and so disappointed as I had lost some and was feeling pretty good. We went on a 3 week trip in late fall and continued to eat like we were on vacation when we got home.

Regardless, we are back on track and like your page say, we are "Stopping the Insanity".

Do keep in touch!

I hear you girl. It seems to me that you don't plan to take any prisoners. You have a very powerful mind that can make anything happen as long as you keep yourself centered.

Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all. Never be satisfied with what you achieve, because it all pales in comparison with what you are capable of doing in the future.

LET'S REVOLT TOGETHER.

What is Christmas?

Friday, December 25, 2009

It is tenderness for the past,
Courage for the present, and
Hope for the future.

It is a fervent wish that every cup
may overflow with blessings rich
and eternal, and that every path
may lead to peace.

May health, peace, and sweet contentment be yours.
