I Have To Make This Happen!

Sunday, February 28, 2010

I am so out of shape. I can tell I've let myself slide even more this winter.
I'm worried that I've finally let it get far enough that it is REALLY going to affect my long term health.
At least I can see the sidewalks again. I much prefer walking outdoors. I went for a 30 minute walk yesterday and plan to do so tomorrow, too.
I'm also cutting out most if not all alcohol. And, trying not to eat after 8pm on a regular basis.
I'll check back in tomorrow or Tuesday...

How are things going? I'm walking, too. Wanted to say emoticon HI!

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Have a terrific weekend!

Walking is always good. It's amazing how much better I feel when I walk. I have a treadmill at home so I was able to walk all through the big snow storms. Of course I shoveled, too. Last winter I don't think I could have shoveled without having a heart attack. This year I'm in much better shape. Good luck to you on your journey to get in shape.

Making a List and Checking it Twice...

making a list and checking it twice....

interesting how that could apply to so many things! But, for now, it applies to my final Christmas preparations.

I had one daughter sick over the weekend and now the other one has a fever. I'm concerned that I'll be next, so I'm trying to keep everything written down so I don't lose my place.

Merry Christmas Eve Eve!

"My" Numbers

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

Copying (somewhat) from a friend's blog....

Underweight 19
Ideal BMI 19-25
Overweight 25-30
Obese 30
Severely Obese 35
Morbidly Obese 40
Super Obese 50

I am currently at 231lbs which puts me in "Severely Obese". I have never been above Severly Obese.

210 would put me in "Obese". How fast can I lose 21 pounds?!? This is still more than I was when I got pregnant with either child...

185 would put me in "Overweight". I weighed 180 after my first child but before I quit pumping breast milk. Whenever I quit pumping, I'd put on weight....

155 would put me just into "Ideal BMI". 150 has been my current weight goal. I have not asked my DR what it should be, but have a yearly exam in 2 weeks and plan to set a goal then.

145 was my weight when I got married, I think. It might have been 140! This was in 1988.

135 was my weight when I graduated from college. (1985)

125 was my weight when I graduated from high school. (1981)

I think I was 115 when I was a Freshman in high school, which is borderline "Underweight" for my height!

Aren't the numbers fascinating :) like me, you know where you stand and where you are headed... you also realize that being 115 again may not be a good idea... before you know it though, we can reach our step at a time.... let's go DJ :)

Favorite Movie(s)

#6 - What is your favorite movie and why?

This is tough. Probably why I psychologically forgot to blog yesterday. Could have been the 7 inches of snow, too....

I like:
Gone With the Wind
Harry Potter (all of them, the 1st, 3rd and 5th are probably higher on my list).
Baseball movies (Bull Durham, The Natural, Field of Dreams) - funny thing is I don't really like baseball - maybe I just like Kevin Costner!

There are plenty more, but I can't think straight. I've been woken up early the last two days.
Need to go get some sleep....

Summer Days...

#5 - What did you do on summer days?

OK, when I wrote the title, I thought of "Grease". Everyone in my house loves "Grease"!

I remember exploring the creek and the sewers (the storm water sewers, that is!).
I remember sitting on the porch with the radio going and reading a book.
I remember hanging at the pool with my friends.
I remember in high school that summer was cut short because of marching band and I would have a very red nose because I would forget sunscreen and a hat!

I do hope I get to enjoy this coming summer, too...
The question's wording makes me wonder!
