my arms hurt. that feels good.
my tooth hurt. root canal in two weeks. UGH i hope i can handle this pain that long!
my legs are looking so strong, it's amazing how muscle reacts to just two weeks of consistent exercise! i need to remember that-- even though my stomach is pure flab (especially post thanksgiving!) and is going to remain a problem area for my whole life, i can see SERIOUS changes-- fast. and there are more to come.

today, i feel like i'm floundering. i'm hungry and tired and sore. but i have control of turning most of these feelings around. and i should take advantage of that. gym tonight. :)

oatmeal (warm, filling) + a mini chocolate bar (leftover, i needed a bite of chocolate) + almond butter (protein, fat) + a dash of half &half (to make it even creamier YUM AH!). it could probably do without the cream and chocolate, but then it would just be last week's breakfast kick-- oatmeal, pb or almond butter, and a chopped up apple. next week i think i will return to that breakfast but i need to start premaking my own steel cut oats for more health, or at least pick up unflavored instand oats-- i don't want anything with creepy chemicals in it, and i don't need it to have flavors since i add so much stuff. anyway, this is a great snack for a slushy, snowy day! :)

i finally made it back to the gym today,
and today i felt like i was dying for chocolate and i had some but didn't overdo it!

this coming week i'm going to be shooting more for the 1400-1600 calorie range daily. before when i have failed at spark, it's been because i've been going for 1200-1500 while burning more than half of that in my workouts. spark says that almost 1900 is an okay upper limit for me but that sounds ridiculous (i've been hitting it on these holiday/weekend/day off junk food-athons, but that's unreasonable).

OKAY. plans. monday morning gym, monday daytime potentially stressful day at the internship, tuesday will be lowkey day at the internship, and tuesday night i don't have to work at the CAFE-- YAY!-- so i will get to have a long workout including more time with the weight machines that my arms are already sore from today.

the weekend.

oh you guys,
the weekend was a real weekend full of temptation and junk food and a wacky sleeping schedule. despite eating appropriately for the celebrations i was at (the aforementioned wedding and a 1 year old's birthday party!), i went to the gym saturday and sunday. and THIS MORNING i went to the gym before work..unheard of for me. yesterday boyfriend and i got new gym-friendly headphones, and that was a nice little treat to start the week off right. i forgot what day i skipped (woops) but now i only have 2 days left for my workout-before-thanksgiving streak! thursday will be a nice day off relaxing and eating junk with family, and friday will be a long gym day! so far i've just been leaning back into the gym via cardio, but friday i plan to do an hour of cardio and a half hour of weights. we will see..
