Good morning; there has been a warm front hit our area and how strange it feels when it was very cold just a week ago. My son and I walk outside in the evening with his walker. His pain has reduced. Thank God!! I did not exercise as usual. I decided to house clean and boy did I down size. I have bags going to Salvation Army. I still has much to do but I am getting back to my treadmill today. I am in a great mood and looking forward to the future. My son and I had a wonderful conversation last night. He sure is a good guy with a good disposition but got burned by a girl before he went to Iraq. He has some emotional scars - trust issues.
I told him that healing comes first. That is true about us all. We all have to be selfish at times to get ourselves healthy before we can added a major change in food- like sugar snacks, salty foods - process foods. When I get off track with my food, it is because I did compulsive choices which are not always healthy. Have a good day!! Get some movement in today!!
Good morning; I got up late - did not sleep well. I was eating Valentine chocolate yesterday. My sugar is up and I was restless last night. I love Chocolate but I need to stick with dark chocolate and not milk chocolate due to the sugar content. This I knew but ignored in the face of my drug of choice chocolate. Normally I do not have a problem but my life has not been normal lately. I have had to redefine my usual successful schedule to one to work around my son's sleeping habits and schedule as he is sleeping in a temporary bed in our Family room. I am determined to focus today on me and getting my chores done. Do you have an interruption to your usual schedule? How are you handling it? Walking is a great way for me. I did not get in as many steps as I usually do but will focus on that also today. I do not beat myself up over a day like yesterday but I hope to learn. I have no regrets and I move forward! Success today for us all!!

Good morning; slept a little later than usual. I think I needed it. Things going better this week in my household and the stress level has diminished quite a bit. This week I am working in getting back to basics. Portion control of food which needs attention with exercise which I have been doing all along. Due to the exercise I have not gained weight but I have not lost either. So I am back to focusing on my journey, my son is managing his own care right now by his choice. So I will be there when needed but I have time now to get back to my own plan. It is a good feeling. Are you back to your journey? have you incorporated an exercise plan? A food plan? Both? I had to do exercise first and then I did food. Not sure why but that is how it worked with me- Bob Greene, Oprah's personal training said on a show is how it works- when you feel better physically through exercise, eating healthy is easier. I never believed him. But it worked for me, after many years of doing food first and then exercising. What I say is whatever works for you!! Happy Valentine's Day. Keep Smiling and move!!
Good Morning; I feel great. It is a beautiful day. I exercised more than usual b/c I got into girl scout cookies. I do not regret it. The old diet I would deprive myself and I would obsess about not having something and then I would binge. Now I will eat something, write it down to track and forget about it. If I want to lose than I have to exercise some more to compensate for the extra calories. I wasted many years not coming to this conclusion. I heard this on Oprah: The best definition of forgiveness I ever heard is giving up the hope that the past could be any different. I used to say all the time if only this or if only that- forget it. You need to live in the present and enjoy each day. this is what I know and try to practice daily. I am also going to start putting motivation post-its up around my house. I have done this in the past but took them down over the holidays. they help me to focus during times of stress. Exercise is good and necessary. This journey has its ups and downs but it is moving forward with no regrets of the past. How is your journey going? Are you tracking your food? Are you moving more each week? Has stress lessened? Good Morning; I have been trying to get this posted all morning. I am going to work in my exercise today. I have a busy day. My son had his best day yesterday. I gave him a pedometer to track his steps. We got to 450 steps yesterday before he got tired. Each day we are increasing the steps. this is the same method for people that are new to exercise I suggest - start with 10 minutes a day and work up or 30 mins 3 days a week. Every one get up and move - your body will appreciate the movement. Take one day at a time - I use to jump on the scale 3x a day and obsess about the lost or no loss. It did not make me successful - it just made me anxious. I have relaxed. I count calories and track exercise - the old fashion way. It works for me. It is the only way that has ever worked. Every one has to find what works for them. Movement works. I started first consistently and I am feeling the results now. Summer is coming around the corner and every one needs to start now.
