Good Morning; I have some aches and pains this morning, but I feel that I am making progress. I am doing a video in the morning and then treadmill in the late afternoon. My upper body is much weaker than my lower body. I am working on strengthening my upper body. I have to be careful not to injury myself. When I use videos, I love to stay with the music and sometimes I do too much. Now I have learned to take water breaks until I am able to complete a video. Listening to your body is the key. when I took a class, I would do too much all the time to keep up with the class. I did not want to be a quitter, but it just caused me to drop out of class due to injury. I hope all of you get some exercise, but do listen to your body.     I have been listening to my body so much that I only got about 4000 steps yesterday, I will go for a walk in a bit, and hopefully hit 10,000 and if not that is ok too, I went to the dentist this afternoon, just a cleaning, but dentists tend to tire me out, I imagine stress, I have a small cavity so have to go back next Thursday, emoticon I am feeling lots better today, so I must have had a 36 hour flu, I have been eating correctly, bland stuff that really doesnt add up to as many calories as I need, so I guess I will supplement it with some candy. emoticon

Good Morning; what a good morning!!! I am trying something new on my exercise. I am doing an AM and PM exercise. My plan is to do this 5 days a week. On weekends, I am only doing one on weekends. I have this theory that at my age and with a thyroid condition, I have to step it up to lose weight. The key is to watch out for injury and burn out. I have been exercising regularly for nearly two years so I feel comfortable with stepping up. I am more fit than I have been in years. Has any one been watching DWTS? Kristi Alley is really losing the weight and inches. Oprah had a show about viewers losing over 100 lbs. Stress can be a big factor in the inability of losing weight. I have hope for me.     I like your idea also, although I do break my exercise up in the day, I almost always walk in the evening, only around the block yesterday, and I think I will not make it at all today, I have the flu, I guess, so making the bed this morning was a chore, in fact, my DH helped me,
I did get my boot camp video done and my air boxing, this is gym day, and I did not make it, hopefully I will feel better Friday,

Good Morning; yesterday I enjoyed being stress free. I washed clothes from the trip and took care of many chores. Over all I just felt free and happy. This is what traveling does for me- recharges my batteries. I did get some exercise in, but have not ramped up yet, but I will today. I am going to attack my program. I am back food wise after a weekend of wonderful food. I got on the scale and have lost weight but it is water weight. I guess all the rich food just sucked up fluid. My glucose is much higher than normal. I will get that down quickly with eating healthier food. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon I recommend if you are in a stressful situation, find time to get some down time by yourself or with your DH. One needs to recharge the batteries. Exercise helps a great deal in this matter, but getting totally out of the situation works better for me. Look in the mirror and ask yourself- "Do I need a break just for me?" Have I been taking care of the emotional and spiritual part of me? emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon You are wonderful! You are special!     Sounds like a plan, now to just convince my DH that we need a change of scenery, lol, I am planning on going back to Iowa in June, but I can not talk him in to going with me, I have not got my air line ticket yet, I am still trying to convince him, I have to wait until after our anniversary this year, beings it is the big 50 one, and I really should be with him. we are making no plans at all. But we will go out and celebrate with a dinner at least.
I am going to go lie down for awhile, I did my 10 minutes jogging and my boot camp video, but feel tired and so I am going to get back at this later, maybe read for awhile. emoticon

Good Morning; this past weekend was grand. 70's and sunny. Walked about 14,000 to 20,000 steps a day but still gained weight. Had some rich choices in my meals. Now I am getting back on plan. How's every one doing? Are you consistent? I have to learn to be more moderate on my travels. I usually want to try everything - sometimes more than once. any ways, I am back and roaring to go. I am watching the Kentucky Derby which I recorded. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon Have a wonderful day and get some movement in. I am getting stronger b/c I was able to do much walking and not have the problems I used to have with tired legs. I see improvement. Do you see improvement in your body?     I stayed within my range yesterday, I really blew it in the morning, biscuits and gravy and all the fattening trimmings, but salad the rest of the day, and a little fruit, so my fat was high, fiber low, but I did ok.
I had a great day, and got in my steps, not nearly as many as you did, and it sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. that is very nice.
I have done some exercise today, but still have to go for a walk, and today is not a high exertion day, at least not for me.
I am getting a lot stronger, but I am not losing any weight, in fact I go up about .2 of a pound most weeks, my low was 117, and some days I weigh in at 122, so this is not good. My DH says it is muscle that I am developing, I am not sure, I almost never go over my calorie range, unless (and I think I count it all) I am cheating on documenting every thing that I eat. just not sure.
Oh well, I do feel so much better since I have been following Sparks, the only complaint if the time it takes. Not that I would be doing that much more, but maybe more time to read emoticon I just got on the computer for the day and it is 5:00 here so I better get going and get my walking started.

I'm sure I overate this weekend but I got lots of extra walking and biking in so at least it was a healthy weekend.

Good Morning; I have my pedometer on right now. I am running around the house and up and down the stairs. I have much to do today. It is a very active day. I want to wish every one to have a lovely weekend and Mother's Day. Do you take time for yourself and also time with your DH? Life's challenges can take a toll on ourselves and the ones we love. With a stressful job, one can just jump on the couch and get lost in TV. This has happened in my household, but over time we have come to a place in our life that time is not endless. We can not wait to enjoy life to another time b/c we are too tired now. We need to be present to our relationships. I did not understand this when my kids were young, but as they have gotten older there are always challenges. We have had to make time for us b/c no one else will b/c everyone thinks they come first. There is never a good time to wait and put off for long- something else comes along to take up the freed time. We have had to make plans and just spend time together. even when my son was at his worst, we would grab a cup of coffee and just chat on our porch outside and talk. Communication is the key and reading minds never works. I challenge you all take time with your DH. Keep up your exercise so you are healthy to enjoy each other. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

    This is my second response to you, my mouse quit on me, I had to put in new batteries, and of course lost everything I wrote, I was saying how you always seem to talk about things that pertains to me, I have been having such a hard time getting things done, from exercise to housework, and it seems like I am always busy, but I must not be, It is that I am so very unorganized I realize that I am, perhaps I have too much time, so I think I can fritter it away. anyway, I had a good day, took it easy but did get over 10,000 steps, and my air boxing and video as well as 10 minutes jogging, I am not a runner so 10 minutes jogging is good for me.
Happy Mothers Day to you also. I am looking forward to a nice weekend.
