One of the things I needed to do when I first started and had to get motivated to do the exercise was to join one of the bootcamp challenges....for me, it helped to feel like I had the "daily assignment" somehow it was more motivating if I felt like I had to do it...all of the bootcamps are still in place even if they aren't active so you can follow the daily assignments etc....the one I did had a ten minute video (different each day) to do and some other specific assignments each day....I didn't like all of the videos but like I said I guess I'm an obedient student LOL and couldn't cop out of it cause I felt the commitment to at least make it through the bootcamp...what it did for me was got me into the mode of doing at least something every's a start. Good luck.

well, I'm not really asleep, but I do get up sometimes during the night and always 'want' something. Recently i've been trying to make it a freeze pop or something not so 'bad'. I think that comes from yrs of working off and on night

Sleep eating is a variation on sleepwalking; you literally go and eat while still asleep.

If you have any activities (like cooking or washing dishes by hand) that involve standing in one place, you can make it a cardio activity by walking in place. It may not work as well as a real walk, but it will be some exercise.

And yes, you do need to spend some time -on you-. Being there for others is great, but not if it comes at the expense of your health.

what do you mean sleep eat hon? I'm tracking every day, and yes at least 80% of the time. I guess the answer to number 2 would have to be no....I guess I have to make time for ME! Every one else comes first. thanks hon!

    1) are you tracking your nutrition & staying within (making the minimum & not going over maximum) the parameters at least 80% of the time?
2) Are you getting enough exercise, both cardio and strength training?
3) Do you sleep eat (yes, this does happen; not to anyone whom I know personally, but it does happen)?
If the answers to the 1st two are yes and no to the 3rd, I'd consult a doctor. There might be a medical issue.

Hi, my name is Anita but friends call me Nita. I just joined this site yesterday (last night in fact) and so far have been on the site all day today. I simply can't believe the content and the info here on this site. I only wish I had known about it sooner! I thank god that I saw it on Facebook. I have a matabolism that is at a stand still no matter what I do and want to lose (at least) 40 lbs so any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Welcome to SP. It is great and very supportive. I have been a member for about 2 months and they have kept me going and cheered for me when needed. They can do the same for you.

emoticon Anita! i'm glad you found SP, this site is amazing and the support here is wonderful.

you may want to check to see if there are any spark teams dedicated to metabolism and also check out the diet & nutrition message boards. exercise can be a great metabolism booster and strength training can help build muscle that will burn fat.

good luck, emoticon

Welcome Anita. I'm fairly new too, so not much advice except persevere. I lost 8 lbs. prior to Spark and SP has kept me motivated, when I may have started to slip. emoticon
