Today's planned activity was - Weight-training

Today's completed activity is - 43 minutes of intense circuit training. Shaved 2 minutes off from Tuesday's workout time by just having more familiarity with the new sequence and different movements. Thankfully was also able to settle on the correct starting weights for the first 2 weeks or so of this circuit. So this is the actual starting program and weights used where applicable. The weights are significantly lower than I've been using in some places, but the weight allows me to work to failure with perfect form right now.

2 sets/15 reps each

Crunches
Dumbbell Chest Press 12# each hand
Ball Squats
Calf Raises
Back Extensions
Dumbbell Sidebends 25#s each hand
Reverse Crunches
Dumbbell Hammer Curls 10# each had
Dumbbell Side Laterals 5#s each hand
Skull Crushers 5#s each hand
Lying Adduction
Lying Abduction
Lying Dumbbell Leg Curl 10#s

Day 4 is in the books!!! emoticon

Finally Being Good Enough...

Thursday, September 03, 2009

I don't know about you, but being so totally and completely human, I can freely admit that there are days when the world sends me just enough signs that I am not/nor will I ever be...Good Enough. Those days typically come on the heels of some of my highest highs and plunge me to the deepest depths faster than I could ever hope to adjust. Unfortunately, when it happens - it doesn't matter what tragedies and triumphs my God has seen me through, what mountains He has allowed me to scale, or what scales He has allowed me to defeat...that is the part that bothers me most. In just one moment - someone or something can (correction, I allow it, no point in denying it) temporarily negate the blessings, the grace, and the mercy He has bestowed upon me.

It would be so easy to say, "Well that's the way I am. That's just how my life has been. I can't help it." Once upon a time, that may have been the case. Today, I know that I am too blessed by the very best to continue to "buy-in" to the lie. I am so much more than (in mathematical terms that would look like this {Anita > what the world believes & perceives})!!!!! I praise Him for sending those reminders of just that fact at just the moment I need them most.

Great prayer I found in Iyanla Vanzant's book Every Day I Pray - this one is a keeper for just those moments when the scales are unbalanced and I/you/we slip and begin to believe the lie...

"Please Untie the Nots"

Dear, God:
Please untie the nots that are invading my mind, my heart and my life.
Please remove the have nots, the can nots and the do nots that invade my mind.
Please erase the will nots, may nots, might nots that invade my heart.
Please release me from the could nots, would nots and should nots that invade my life.
Most of all, Dear God, I ask that you remove from my mind, my heart and my life all of the am nots that I have allowed to hold me back.
Please erase from my mind the thought that I am not good enough.
Please remove from my heart that I am not loved enough.
Please untie from my life everything that I clutch that supports the belief that I am not enough.
Today, Dear God, I come to you humbly and reverently asking that you untie, eliminate and erase all of the nots that have invaded every aspect of my life.
For Your mercy and Your grace I am so grateful.
Let these words take on the presence of the Holy Spirit to become living conditions in my life.
And So It Is!

Have and abundantly blessed day!!!

Thank you for sharing that my friend. I pray for both of us this day that God will untie all the nots in our lives, our hearts, and our minds that we may more fully realize the abundance of opportunities, blessings, and abilities that he fills us and our lives with. And when life tries throwing curve balls at you to get you down, I hope you remember that you ARE enough, you are an amazing beautiful lovable and loving human being with an awesome tender heart that reaches out to others.

I copied and pasted it in Word in my inspirations folder. Sweet Nita, do not ever think you are any less than wonderful. Though I haven't known you long, I see in you a quiet, beautiful strength that only the best achieve. You are my friend and you are such a blessing to me... emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticonYou're the best!

Today's planned activity was Cardio #2 (2-20 min or 1-45 min session sessions).

Today's completed activity is two 20 minute sessions on the elliptical. This was a rough one because the elliptical has not been on my regular rotation for several months now. Earlier in the year I was averaging a 7.5 minute mile pace. Now it's around 9.5 - 10 so there is plenty of room for improvement. I expect to see huge "gains" in the weeks to come. So exciting!!!!!

Day #3 is in the books!!! emoticon

Today's planned activity was - Weight-training

Today's completed activity is - 45 minutes of intense circuit training. I LOVE working with weights, but I hate the rests. Because I'm not a power lifter, I can substitute active rests (typically 30 seconds on the rebounder) and blast off more calories by making the session more aerobic. Win win if ever I saw one emoticon

I've been circuit training consistently for about a year now and just revamped the entire program. I added totally new movements that work my body in different ways and it challenged me more than I expected. I had to lower the weights for several body parts to keep my form in tact. Really looking forward to the results this cycle should yield.

Day 2 is in the books!!! emoticon emoticon

You are my idol. I just bought myself a chain saw so that when a tree falls across our driveway I can get out without spending 30 minutes with a hand saw to clear the road. The perils of living in the backwoods.

Way to go! All that lawn mowing is great! I like to mow the lawn - since I need to walk anyway, I feel like I might as well be doing something useful. Keep up the good work the rest of the week.
