Wow time fly's. I didnt realize that it had been so long since my last blog. A lot has happened. I am doing great with keeping the weight i lost off still and managed to lose 1lb. That is a triumph for me and my metabolism.

Also we got a house. It is being built and will be done in July.

But on a sad note i got some weird bloodwork back which may conform my fear about a autoimmune disease. So i see the doctor today about that. I just hope they take the bloodwork seriously and look into it because im tired of feeling fine one day and feeling like cramp two weeks later.

Finding My Way

So this 2nd journey has been tougher than the first. But every journey teaches you something. I am not near my goal of 160-165lbs but i am closer than i have ever been. I havent been this small in years and instead of beating myself up dammit im gonna enjoy it. I have a waist again. My clothes are too big for me so i have a reason to go shopping. And even my husband is enjoying taking me shopping because he loves the way i look and the way im feeling.

Not so great

So I think its harder the 2nd round. Not losing as much weight and I'm food bored. I think my body has adjusted to the shots so time to shake it up for the next two weeks. I'm trying to deal with the disappointment but it affecting my mood.

Carb are confusing

I'm finding Carbs to be very confusing. I never know if I'm getting the right amount or to much. What's a good carb and what's a bad one. Like if i eat a bunch of fruit and veggies that have some carbs in them are those good carbs because they are from fruit and veggies? And if i eat bread and pasta those are bad carbs?

    good carbs: fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, legumes, beans, lentils, whole grains, brown rice -- doesn't make the blood sugar rise quickly nor plummet quickly either --the blood sugar stays smooth.

bad carbs: the "whites" -- white potatoes, white rice, processed white flour, white sugar, candy, soda, fruit drinks -- anything that will raise your blood sugar quickly then plummet leading to hunger and cravings.

If you google good carbs, or carbs, you'll find lots of information. Always DO pair it with a protein.

the other thing is you should have a source of good fat (olive oil, safllower oil) because that does help with carb metabolism.

Family Can Be Distracting

So my family came to visit from Boston and even though we walked around and had a busy visit i still got distracted. A lot of eating out. And i did great saying no sauces, eating fish, and always getting a vegetable. But still restaurant eating is just full of calories. So now I'm trying to get back on track with my food but i can barely workout because i pulled my back entertaining my family. Ugh!

On a good note though i am down to 178.8. And i haven't seen the 170's in over 3 years. Woohoo im so happy.

    Congrats on your progress! I agree, restaurant eating is difficult because there's a lot of portion distortion going on and with family there distracting, it makes it harder to do mindful eating. Keep at it! emoticon emoticon

    I hear ya with the family. My husband is a trucker and gone all week, so I do really well when he's gone, and not so much when he's home.
Don't focus on what you did, just focus on getting back on track this week!!
