Good for you, Holly! We're going to my oldest sister's for Thanksgiving. All the immediate family in our area so I get to mostly relax this week. I will be bringing a few dishes but that's about it. How is your friend doing?

good news

well the surgery is done despite the roadblocks..he came thru the 7 hours well and is probably in better shape than me at this point!! If you can believe it, after 7 hours of surgery he was sent home within 48 hours. sooo we are dealing with the tubes and bags ourselves and he is in pretty good spirits despite it all. Thank goodness the after care is with a surgeon 45 mins away instead of the 4 hours we drove for the surgery...
Thank you for all your prayers and support and good thoughts---let the recovery begin!!

Great! Hope the ins. came around.
I had an insurance co once that refused to pay for my children's toe surgery. The surgeon wrote to the ins. co and threatened to write to the state insurance board if they did not pay for the surgeries and then the ins paid.
I pray for your signifcant other's speedy recovery and continued good health.

ok so i went to the doc today. according to THEIR scale i lost 12 pounds..mine is still the same. wont complain though! I went for a follow up of a stat chest xray from friday after having a rough time breathing in the night thurs..turns out i have aspiration pneumonia, which i pretty much knew. no big deal..antibiotics. sooo..i get home to an urgent message from the doc..i have severe anemia..so on weds i go to the gastroenterologist for all kinds of nasty tests. i just gotta stay on plan...clicking my heels 3 times...

Are your shoes red? Teasing. I am commenting on your page because many of your posts sound a lot like me. My doctor's scale always weight me 10 pounds MORE than mine does. At least they both go up (or down) by the same amount. I always weigh first thing in the morning and it is usually much later in the day when I am at the doctor's office, so that may account for some of the differences-I keep telling myself.

Oh, wow. You take care of yourself! I hope the tests give you some good news, but I know anemia can be hard to deal with.

Well how in the world did you aspirate Holly? Do you have sleep apnea and get strangled on your saliva? I hope your tests go good and quickly. I am having dental work tomorrow so I am scared to death so I probably won't sleep tonight. Good luck with staying on plan. You are right there is no place like home.....
