You have been a busy bee! Congrats on your achievements. I am still in the process of reviewing my goals. I had a double gastrocnemius lenghening (calf muscles) and I am walking but only slowly getting into running again. I wish you a productive and healthy 2013.

2nd 5k of 2010 Dead Battery/Personal Record

Monday, May 31, 2010

So today was my second 5k of the season. I think I have figured out the proper pre race fuel for my body. I started the morning with 3 bottle of water. Next on the agenda was a juice drink made with my juicer (1 beet, 1 apple, 15 baby carrots, kale, and a lime). The race was set to start at 11 so my plan was to leave my house around 9:15 with a whole grain bagel with peanut butter and a banana.

9:15 head out to my husbands truck because my daughter had my car and the lights were left on all night, therefore the battery was dead....

9:17 call mom and to see if she can come over with jumper cables.

9:19 tell mom we are going to ask neighbor for a jump but there car didn't have the juice.

9:22 call mom back to ask if she can still come

9:45 Mom arrives at my house and me and the boys hop into the car. But we didn't get off that easy. My dad has to go to the bathroom, then as he is coming out I need to go.

9:50 We are off and I say "I need to be there by 10:45, then look at the paperwork again and realize i need to be there by 10:30!! Crap dad is NOT a fast driver but today he wanted to get me there on time!!

10:25 I arrived at the race venue!!

I walked around for a while. Met up with a lady from work that was also running this race.

11:00 the race was off! My goal was to beat last weeks time (27:42). I didn't look at my watch until I passed mile one. My breathing was great and my legs felt awesome.

Mile 2 was ok I was thinking to myself wow I feel pretty good and the music was jamming from my IPOD that was until about mile 2.6 and then I ran out of music on my playlist so the last .5 miles I was forced to listen to my breathing.

Mile 3.0 I could hear the music playing from the finish line. It was incredible. I pulled all the strength I had in me and kicked it into high gear!!

Finish time 26:30!! Average pace 8:30 seconds per mile.

Next on the agenda a 10K in 6 days!!

Happy Memorial Day weekend all!!

Stupid cinnamon pita chip...You seemed so innocent

Monday, May 17, 2010

Ok i should mad at those chips. I some perfectly good grapefruit, an orange and an apple to satisfy my sweet tooth but did I eat it nooo. I thought I will go down to the store and get some of those pita chips. My plan was to ration them out through out the seek. Well 45 minutes later here i sit with an empty bag!!!

Seriously why did I think I could control myself. If the past is any indication of the future then I should have known what would happen.

So NOW I gain composure and start again.... Not tomorrow but now.

Girl--I know what you mean. When will we learn that we cannot control our eating of some foods --mine, peanut butter, almonds, and peanuts. If I eat anything with gluten I am on a binge. I love your attitude about it though. What is done, is done. It was only one bag. It is what you do next that counts:-)

Hi my name is Nichole and I am an a adrenaline junky!!

Friday, May 14, 2010

Between work and home the adrenaline is just flowing:

Yesterday I had my 1st big presentation for senior management. I was a nervous wreck and spend the majority of the previous night practicing at the kitchen table with my daughter. My arm pits were sweaty my voice quivered I had to keep stopping and gathering my compsure. But at 3PM yesterday the meeting was on and I rocked it!!! As stressed as I was about it I was kind of saddened when it was over.

I have my 1st race of the year (5k) tomorrow although I have been running on my own I haven't run a race in 3 years. That last time was 27:11 (hope I beat it tomorrow). So now my stomach is turning and I am sweating about the race and what did i dare to do you ask??

I signedup for 3 more races in the next 4 weeks
5k 5/31
10k 6/6
5k 6/13

An I am thinking about 1/2 marathon on 9/11.

I am so siked fortomorrow and the rest of the running summer!!
