ION Life- Cooking fish in Parchment paper in the microwave for a quick healthy meal

Ugh. I remember watching Ion Life one day and the lady was showing uses for microwaves, one of them being making fish in parchment paper for quick meals taking 2-4 minute! I can't remember what show it was ( I think it may have been "Living Better" with Ellie Kreiger) .. If anyone saw this, let me know!

She basically took some white fish, added lemon juice, herbs, cut veggies, etc. wrapped in parchment paper and microwaved for two minutes for a nice, fish meal. Quick and easy. Just can't find that episode/info online. I did however, see this link

    I cook fish in parchment, but in the oven. Haven't tried the microwave. It's a great one pan meal with easy clean up and the fish comes out nice and moist with good flavor from veggies and seasonings.

Locker Room Talk

No. I'm not talking about football coaches giving a pep talk before the big game.

This morning, post workout, as I step out of the shower, I had to juggle around another woman setting up in the locker next to mine. She asked how my workout was and I proceeded to tell her that, although I completed it (my 500 calories on the elliptical), I really struggled through it today. I said "I'm kind of new to this", and she gave an encouraging laugh. Said she gained a lot of weight after the birth of her daughter so, when her daughter turned 9months, this lady started going to the gym. She took off 80 pounds and said the gym is very addicting to her! More wores of encouragement for me to stick it out...

I thought that was really nice that she took the time to say hello and encourage me,
If you work out at a public gym, perhaps you'll do the same thing.

But it's the only reason "I" did :-D hehe (still kidding) :-)

Seriously though, what a nice experience! And good for you for getting that 500 in even though it was hard. I have a hard time forcing myself to do things I don't like to do. I know, get me the waaaaambulance, but we all struggle with something. :)

I hope your stressful week is going better. I miss your funny posts and harassment :-)

    emoticon That is so encouraging! I tend to come across this with people trying out Zumba for the first time too! Maybe not in the locker room, but that is a part of being an instructor you get to hear these things while dancing :)

    I've found, in the racing world, whether you be a walker or a racer (I'm guessing biking and tri athletes fit in here also), that those faster than me are usually giving encouragement as they pass me by. We all start somewhere and I know when I pass someone who is walking very slow, I give them the high five and good job. You never know when that person might be passing me.

Ok, Not much time to post these days.
Been having more headaches. Not sure if it is from exercise, getting up early, readjusting sleep schedule etc.

My first BLC15 weigh in was today. I'm down 3 pounds. Not bad.
I love love love these Aldi's bars: Fit & Active - Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Meal Bars (1 45g Bar / Serving), 1 serving. A box of 6 this week was $1.89 .. so good price, too. " A satisfying multi-grain protein meal bar with smooth peanut butter and rich chocolatey coating". The box says compare to Special K Protein Meal Bars. A friend says they would be 5 WW points, if I was doing WW.

I worked out at the building next door with my work pal.. that's because I was a little late and she was a little early! When I went back to my building, I hit the breakroom upstairs to make my Progresso chili breakfast & bumped into a lady that has been working out in the neighboring building. Small work. (We both are using next doors facility and both are on the same floor)

Lunch was going to be the salmon again but I got down to the cafeteria after 1 and they had sold out of the salmon . Boo. I grabbed a 1/2 C. cottage cheese (YUCK.. esp when it was 4% milkfat, large curd) and an Aldi's version of a Turkey & Broccoli hot pocket ( would be 6 WW points if you are in to that. I'm at 830 calories in for the day, and 500 calories out from my workout.. so, I should have plenty leftover to eat a nice dinner tonight.

    Good job on the workout. Great job losing 3 pounds. That is only not bad it is fabulous!! Those bars sound really good but you know I'm a sucker for chocolate and peanut butter.
Not sure about the headaches. Could be the sleep schedule. Hope they stop! emoticon

    Sorry to hear you're still having headaches! Adjusting your sleep schedule could do that - I know that happens to me sometimges. But how cool that you found a generic version of the Special K protein bar - I love those! Around here those boxes of 6 are over $5, that would be a great savings - I'll have to check out our Aldi's!

Oh and 3 lbs - whaddayamean not bad? emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon Let's see some excitment, that's terrific!
