Too busy to blog

Saturday, November 20, 2010

Ah.. way to busy to blog.
Friday was the funeral so the day was packed.. and I got a call that morning that I had an -interview Monday (8am-10:30am and also Tue 2-2:30. same position, just couldn't get the VP available on Monday). That is double trouble because then I need two interview outfits and I was told to go VERY conservative.. only black or navy pantsuit and jacket. No skirt, no color, no flash. etc. Well after the funeral I had a little time to look for stuff and it's not easy to find things off the rack that FIT in my SIZE. Darn it.
Went to the Blackhawk concert Friday night,, and resumed my suit shopping Saturday. Basically took all day for me to collect 4 suits, and one of them made the cut after i showed them to Bff. Going to find two different tops/shells/button-ups whatever to go underneath and I think that I will stretch the suit for both days. Sigh.

need to work on my interview questions........... way too tired.

I'm glad you made it through the funeral.
Congratulations on the interviews although that is a pain to have to go in twice. I think you'll be fine with the same suit and two different tops.
Did you have a good time at the concert?
Good luck with the interview prep. I know how nerve wracking it can be but I'll keep my fingers crossed that it all goes well and you'll have a job. That would be totally fabulous!!!
Try and get a little rest today, sweetie!

Sweet story

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

I forgot to mention a nice thing that happened to me..

After I lost(then found) my purse but canceled my debit card, I headed out last minute to Aldi's (read: 10 min before they closed) for much needed milk for bff's kids and yogurt and OK I bought animal crackers and a 10pk apple juice pouches, and some cr. mushroom&chicken soup.
Anyway! I hit up Aldi's TOTALLY forgetting that they accept cash (didn't have) or debit (sorry, canceled!). I've only checks or credit card on me. There I am in the checkout, handful of groceries selected, clock ticking, taking up space, panicking. I move over to the counters, apologize profusely to the cashier and the couple behind me, and say "Let me see if I can find enough change on the bottom of my purse to buy the little girls milk"...

So, I'm digging around and the other couple checks out and turns to go and I say to the cashier, "Wow.. sorry, I don't have cash.. I'll put the items away"
I seriously choked up ( ok a few tears fell) and I thanked the couple as they left. Awe. Sweet story.

Awesome. I'd really like to do something like that for someone some day -- I just need to keep my eyes open for the opportunity.

I wish I could go with you but it's probably better than I can't so I can rest my calves/ankle today.
I'll keep my fingers crossed that you stay upright! Either way, I'm sure there will be a fun blog about it soon.
Have fun!!!

SparkRally tomorrow~

Monday, November 15, 2010

I'm going rollerskating tomorrow! Whoo! I decided that would be a perfect idea for a SparkRally soooooooooooo can't wait to see those of you here in the Twin Cities that will be joining me at CheapSkate in Coon Rapids!

Tonight, I'm meeting with 2-3 women from Craigslist that want to do an exercise club. yeah! I hope that it takes off. Don't worry.. we are meeting in a public place.

Going to be a busy week.. that job that I was really interested in ( that happens to report directly so an ex-coworker) hasn't been posted/opened yet for applications and I'm gunning to do it. Sort of. I don't have a nice interview outfit. And it would be a short hire period as they are looking for the new person to start 11/29. YUCK! I feel like I haven't had a vacation at all. Hmmmmmmmm... no, I'll still try my hardest if I get an interview emoticon

My tooth is better from that root canal. I think I'm fixed.

Last Thursday, I attended a workshop held at a (not really) local REI store on layering winter clothing for comfort and performance, hosted by GoreTex, WOW. What an awesome company and awesome product! We did some hands-on testing ( submerse tennis shoe'd foot in water vs. Goretex shoe, canned air sprayed at WINDSTOPPER material vs. reg . fleece, etc) What a difference.

I got my Jillian Michaels DVD today. Only one of the Craigslist gals showed up but we made plans to head to the off-leash dogpark next week. Tomorrow I'm helping bff's grandma clean for all the funeral visitors this week ( service is on Friday). I also have my job transitions class and of course, rollerskating!

Roller skating sounds fun! Geez, I haven't done that in about a million years. Be careful.
An exercise club sounds like a good idea.
I hope you get an interview! I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Glad the tooth is feeling better.

Lost my "wristlet" purse last night.. Just small enough that I can't find it. I went and saw a friend who's a lead singer in a local band SHAG and darn it... I can't find the purse. of course it had:
$40 cash,
Drivers License
One Credit Card
one debit/ATM/cash card
One pay-at-the-pump rewards card tied to optional debit
One pre-paid $100 card
a superfluous business card of a friends
and an ATM receipt.. no biggie.

BUT I'm bummed about everything else.
Easy fix on the ATM/debit card ( new one in 5-7 days) and the pay-at-the-pump card is no biggie (closed debit link, need to pick up new card @ gas station)
I've never lost my Drivers License before.
AND I haven't called the credit card company yet. I keep thinking that it might show up?!

I hope you're lucky and it shows up. It shouldn't be too bad getting a new driver's license. You'll have to pay whatever the fee is, but they shouldn't give you any problems. I would contact the credit card company ASAP. Even if you do find it, it's probably better to get a new credit card.
