Jan 18 -- Feels good to stay home for a change

Friday, January 18, 2013

I can't remember the last day I didn't have somewhere to run. I had a lot to do here at the house, but was so glad to just stay here! I got about 80% of the church cookbook typed and unless I get some new submissions, I'm done typing. There are some recipes without names that I don't think we should include, and there are a lot of recipes from a few select people who think they should provide 90% of the cookbook all by themselves, so I've decided that I'm not typing their stuff; someone else will probably put it in but it won't be me doing all that work!
Tomorrow is my niece's bridal shower and her wedding is on Sunday. I can't wait! She's going to be a beautiful bride, I'll guarantee it! She has waited so long for this and I really hope everything goes smoothly. She deserves for this to be a perfect day, and the start of an amazing life even if it isn't a perfect one. After the shower, I've got a meeting/training session for Good News Club. Hard to believe we're ready to start again! I also am teaching jr church on Sunday, so all this translates to me running like crazy (as usual) for the next 6-8 weeks

Jan 17 -- Hard to feel unproductive after 6 hrs of volunteering

Thursday, January 17, 2013

There isn't a lot to say about today. I love my time at PCC but 6 hours of volunteering plus drive time doesn't allow for a lot to get done. Still, I will never be sorry for the time I spend there. Today an abortion-minded client chose life for her child; what a sense of purpose!
I'm sorry to say that exercise did not make it into my regime but I guess I'm due for a day of rest. Here's hoping I find time for workouts the next 2 days at least.
Did a little shopping but had to keep expenses down; the new payroll taxes are certainly not our friend. Now I'm ready to close my eyes and drift off for the night. I'm up too late as it is,and some rest would really feel good! Good night world....

Jan 16 -- The "IT'S DONE" list

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

I read a Sparkpeople article that said if you make a "to do" list, it can be so overwhelming that you don't have the drive to do even one thing on the list. Instead they recommended making an "it's done" list. At the end of the day, you can look back and be proud of what you've accomplished while not being intimidated by what you missed.
My "IT's DONE" list consisted of a few great things today -- a 1.6 mile walk, a 15 minute walking workout, some housework, and a lot of bill-management. It's nice to look at that list and feel like I've had a productive day.

Jan 15 -- Too much to do, too little time

Tuesday, January 15, 2013

It seems like I'm running in all kinds of directions but not sure I'm getting near enough done. No matter what I give up doing, 3 or 4 more things pop up that I need to do.
My niece just moved her wedding up to this coming weekend so we have less than a week to help plan a wedding and put on a bridal shower; my Mom is out of town until late tomorrow so much of the arrangements fall on me. I've got a cousin getting married in 6 months who wants me to serve as her wedding planner but I've back-burnered her planning until after my niece's wedding.
I'm a volunteer at our school Good News Club and the director has several "projects" for me. I have to get name tags printed and laminated, and I have to do a letter to the church based on a passage in Ephesians. There's a training session on Saturday so I'll have to come straight back from my niece's shower to do that, and I have to arrange a team meeting before Club starts on 1-28.
In addition to Praise Team practice tonight, I have a workout group and Bible study tomorrow night so I need to study the 1st 12 chapters of Matthew before 6:30p tomorrow. I'm also active in our church women's group and I'm responsible for typing the cookbook that we're doing as a fundraiser. I hope to finish the typing by the end of the week so we can get it proofed and edited by Feb 1.
On top of all this, I've got to take care of the boys, deal with the house, do my volunteer work at the Pregnancy Care Center, and some how get in workouts and healthy meals! I need about 28 hrs a day and I'm doubting sleep fits in to the schedule! Just writing all this down overwhelms me yet I know it's got to happen. I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS please Lord, give me strength!

Yeah, as soon as we get 28 hours, we'll just need 30. Slow down and take a breath. You just aren't supposed to be that over run.

I feel you! 28 hours day would be wonderful. I am confident you will get everything done and even get in your very important workouts.
