Another Walk Around the Blog

Monday, December 15, 2008

From my homepage 'blog', I am posing a Holiday Fitness Challenge to myself and my team mates... let's face this challenge with a desire to Change Our Lives permenantly... NewMe's 4 Good. Through the encouragement of health guru Tom Venuto (Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle) and our wonderful SparkPeople site...

I KNOW these changes can happen and they are just a DECISION away.
ACCOUNTABILITY is KEY.
Stay ______ emoticon______Focused

Well, the end of November rolled around and I saw the effects of 'over' indulging ... or not properly tracking my foods. It brought me back to where I began the month of November. Very disheartening, but not surprising.
____________
TODAY is 11/23/08 ~ the end of the month is close at hand and so is my goal!! Here at the remaining 8 days of November I am strongly determined to meet my monthly goal! So here's to meeting our CHALLENGES Head-On ... and ... spreading the SPARK!
____________

NUTRITION ~ WATER ~ FITNESS
CONSISTANCY & DETERMINATION

11/09/08 ... a new week at hand, and NEW HABITS in the making!!! Yay! SP has meant so much to me in establishing these new habits and learning to CARE more about what I am doing with my NUTRITION & FITNESS and KNOWing that the commoradorie of others can be KEY to making these changes STICK... no more yo-yo'ing.

...maybe the Yo-Yo Coaster term ...can be a term for moving past that BAD habit of YoYo-ing and onto a BETTER, MORE CONSISTENT healthier way of life!

11/07/08 WEIGH-IN.......... down by 3 more......203

___

I know keeping steady with my exercise and tracking carefully ALL of my foods & water ~ there is nowhere to go but 'down' on the scale!

I truly believe there is a NewMe4Good just waiting to happen!

Goal for December ... BUST the 200 barrier & look to hold ... 198... I know what it takes to get there, with the Yo-Yo Coasters, SP and me... we'll make it happen!

Take a Blog Walk With Me

Friday, October 31, 2008

Met my 3 lb goal for the end of October. Yay!!

Below you will find my SP page intro... I treated it more like a blog. Well, I am seeing positive changes and know if I commit to it I will continue to see GOOD things happen. Here's wishing all positive success with your SP program.
________________

Learning so much through Stage 2 ~ today is 10/26/08 ~ down 2 lbs and have 1 lb to go to meet my October 31 goal of a 3 lb loss ... its all in CONSISTENCY, keeping GOOD CHOICES to see GOOD RESULTS.
________________

Moving right along STAGE 2 ... today is Thursday, 10/16/08... tomorrow is weigh-in, in all honesty I have been 'wiser' about my choices, but accountability comes when I step on the scale or grab my tape measure. Right?!

Tracking my food has been a reality slap. I know exactly why I haven't lost and when I see it in black and white and DON'T see the results I WANT on the scale, then I have to decide 'do I really want this or not' and 'am I willing to make the changes I need to make to get there?'

I KNOW what to do... establish new habits and make 'em stick!!! No mo' yo-yo! ...lol...

It is incredible that it is so simple. Changing behavior and being accountable. Living today in real time. Knowing what is happening.
I am really impressed with your walk.
"They" say if I talk the talk, I need to walk the walk.
Keep spreading the spark. It will make a difference.

Positive Thinking Elevates the Spirit

Thursday, October 23, 2008

Quite often on the path to a new habit the drive to succeed is high. One key to maintaining that later on is remembering the power of positive thinking. We all know the overwhelming impact that the 'negatives' have on us, right? Turn the tables.

Most often that is easier said than done though. So when our thoughts are on a high note, jot down the positive thoughts you like to hear. Little comments about the day, how you look, what you have done ~ little pick-me-ups that assure you that YOU are WONDERFUL.

Because YOU ARE!! These special affirmations can be cut apart and put in a jar - to pull out and read when you are having trouble finding those good thoughts. Or simply post it where you can see it each morning as you get ready for your day. Those positive thoughts reveal a real TRUTH.

The 'negatives' ...well, who needs 'em anyway! emoticon

Blessings to you, always.

    Angela,
My goal in my life is to be happy with who I am. If I am content with the seemingly good things and the seemingly bad things, I live a life of peace and contentment.
When something happens I try to look at it as something sent to teach me how to live. So when our car blew a rod bering in Nebraska, we did what we needed to do. We stayed calm. We assessed the situation. We accepted help from the kindly people who came into our path. Our car is now home and it drives beautifully.
I am not sure how we learned this but putting the situation in God's hands and doing the footwork as necessary has been the answer to a lot of situations which in past years would have caused us anguish and anger.
I am not really good at this behavior but I am practicing.
I am also practicing putting my food in God's hands.
I do not understand why, but it makes me feel safer and less tempted.
I also do not put bad food labels on food. If I want it and I only eat the number of calories on my plan, then it is OK.
Feel free to check out my food tracker. My only real concern is the quantity of salt I seem to be eating.
So your ideas of affirmations are something I thought was silly.
But I really think I am going to try to do it.
By the way What kind of Art do you Practice? emoticon

New Habits are Hard to Make

Monday, October 20, 2008

emoticon Change is possible. I must remember that my weight gain has been over a long period of time ~ I did not wake up one morning 50 pounds heavier. So I will be patient with myself and the changes that I need to make. Small steps and every little bit helps. Committing to a 20 min walk daily is very possible. Add more, or change my approach when needed.

You will see good changes! emoticon You will feel good results!

Here's wishing ALL a good, healthy week!

SP is such a great place to pool enthusiasm, your comments are appreciated. Weight loss is very do-able! I think too often we convince ourselves we can't ~ when really it is all in getting through the process of CHANGE, that can make such a difference! IAJOEB ... if you see your change as a positive change for you - it will be worth it! Best wishes!!

It is encouraging to see that I am not the only one to feel uncomfortable with the changes I am making in my life. In half an hour I will drive to my job interview. I am trying for a job that will increase my hours but not have benefits.
It will be 6 miles from the house.
I will have more varied responsibilities.
I hate change. There is that word again. UNCOMFORTABLE
Time to feel uncomfortable.
