Saw this on TERESA159's page and think it's great. Answer "What's your weight story" with these questions on your own blog (you'll get points for it LOL).
1) How old are you?
52 but feel (and think look) much younger. It's just a number!
2) How long have you been overweight, obese, or physically not fit?
A) Overweight -- I have been overweight my whole life (except when I married 22 years ago or got to goal at WW for a few years 8 years ago). Food has been my comfort & my companion.
B) Obese -- Imagine my horror when I realized I was obese according to my BMI, yikes! I didn't consider myself obese
C) Physically not fit -- Never really been physically fit. In fact my goal is to get into great shape rather than to weigh a certain amount.
3) What made you decide to get healthy?
My daughter the actress. I went to a red carpet event with her & felt so uncomfortable, nothing to wear, embarrassed about how I looked. I was tired of making food so important and not wanting to be seen in public or see anyone. Also, I was 11 lbs away from weighing 200 and knew I had to get myself in hand.
4) Has anyone ever made rude/mean comments to you about how you look?
No (not to my face at least).
5) What do/did you hate the most about your current/starting size?
My stomach was so huge I couldn't see my feet! My clothes were very tight and I didn't want to buy 18's (even tho' that's what I needed.)
6) What was your favorite unhealthy food before?
All kinds of crap like Devil Dogs (see one of my earlier blogs), Dorito's, Slim Jims. Too much too often.
7) What's some of your favorite healthy foods now?
Chobani plain Greek yogurt to which I add mixed berries, cinnamon, and wheat germ or granola. Spaghetti squash with roasted broccoli topped with marinara sauce, red pepper flakes, & a little parmigiana cheese. Smoothies (yogurt, juice, fruit, peanut butter). A piece of toasted whole wheat bread with almond butter, banana, and cinnamon.
8) What is the hardest part of this journey?
Not giving up when you're discouraged. Sometimes I do everything right and don't see progress. Sometimes I get lazy and make excuses not to work out. Sometimes I eat too much. Sometimes it feels as though I'll never get there!
9) What does your workout regime consist of?
It changes. Right now I'm in week 4 of the 5K Your Way Rookie Running Program (who would have ever imagined that?) Since the program is 25 - 35 minutes, I do something else beforehand like spin or do the elliptical. I also do Jillian Michaels DVDs a few times a week for strength training.
10) What do you want everyone to know about you?
I won't ever give up. I'm getting stronger and am determined to be in the group that is successful losing & keeping it off! I'm here for my friends & those who need me.
