Ok this is my plan for a while. I will post about my progress daily to help me be accountable. Hopefully I will still come up with some interesting thoughts to throw in. Because I am me the scale is down a pound today. Could be up two tomorrow but I don't think so. That makes my goal a 12 pound total. Ate better yesterday though I had treats it wasn't as excessive. There is still a lot of room for improvement but we were celebrating my oldest daughters birthday. Yep that's another excuse.
Tried a couple of new recipes. The bruschetta turned out great, the pasta marginal. It was a fresh tomato sauce with oregano and mozzarella but it really needed something more. We'll keep trying new things. I love new recipes.
Looking out my window I see a beautiful day. Plan to go biking this evening. That should be enjoyable. Haven't gotten out much this spring.

Today I was at three pounds above my range. Better than 5 over the weekend. I set a goal today to be at the bottom of my range by the 14th of August. I am looking at 13 pounds to be at the bottom. May be a stretch but it is summer and excercise season.
Havn't eaten anything not part of my plan so far today. Got in 70 minutes on the elliptical and lifted upper body. I am feeling pretty good about things right at the moment.

    10 weeks to lose 13lbs...I would go for that goal....IMO it is perfectly doable!!

I have been over my perscribed "healthy weight range" 3 days running now. I don't think that has happen in over a year now. OOPS. It's past time to settle down and pay attention to what I am eating. I believe it is intake that is the issue. My excercise has not been as consistent but has still been pretty good.
It's amazing to me that I a not more concerned about this right now. I think I might need to conjour up a little intensity to get me moveing and being more on top of things.
Please wish me luck as i seek to undo what I have done.

    Jump back on - you can do it! And speaking from experience - do try to get some intensity going again - it doesn't take long for a couple of pounds to become 20 (I'm speaking from experience!)

A Frantic Friday

Why do we think that we can do everything in short order. I am making up for lost time today but really not fast enough. I am thinking after a substantial morning workout and running around I am probably still in negative calorie balance for the day. Meaning I have burned more calories than I have eaten thus far. That might be good but I also might crash pretty soon.
Company is coming tonight to recreate and help me getting ready. I really need to get food ready for them and a bed and bathroom and have a few ducks in a row. The couple that are coming tonight will help me out a lot. This will be a good thing. I am a little behind the way this week has run.
Right now I am off on my way again but I am proud of myself that I worked out this morning and havn't been to deep into the snacks right now.

    Ha! You're idea of deep into snacks is two heads of califlower instead of just one!

BTW, try making slaw with guacamole instead of mayo. Tasts fantastic and saves a fortune in calories. I used half a head of cabbage, 4 oz of carrots, and one cucucumber. Then tossed it with a container of salsa, a container of guacamole, and lime juice from one lime. I also doctored up the guacamole with an extra avocado and a little bit of vinegar. It was yum, and I could pig out and not worry about calories.

Perspectives on life

I guess it's a big blog week for me.
I just realized that the urgent stressess in my life all end on Sunday and than I am back to a "normal" routine whatever that is.
Everything is resolved absolved all things moving forward with my sons teenage antics. I have put the matter in perspective. 18 year olds do dumb things and this was a relatively inocuous one motivated by curiosity more than anything.
I am off work til Tuesday Yeah. I need to get a lot done today tomorrow and Saturday but it is time to just dig in an do it. sunday is the big party and it will be good and fun and I have many things to be proud of in my son. We will celebrate that.
My weight is way at the top of my "Healthy Weight Range" not a happy thing for me. However the end of May is on the horizon. I knew at the outset this was going to be a rough month time wise and be packed with lots of celebrations and travel and stress. Things could be worse and with summer here it will be easy to excercise and eat a lot of salad. Yes overall life is good.
God is in his Heaven. I will trust in him and move forward and serve him.
