Be careful don't exercise whilst injured let the ankle heal it is better to have a few days off your feet than end up with a few weks because you continued to exercise. Take care. Report Inappropriate Comment |

oh..ouch!! get better soon...just take it easy until it heals...I have a weak ankle from a bad sprain in high school and I tend to re-injure it about everyother year... I injured myself today too..I stubbed my little toe on our coffee table and it was hours ago and still throbs..I may have broken it :( Swimming would be a great alternative exercise... Go star "fish" :) Report Inappropriate Comment |

RICE - Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation. And take a couple of rest days to recover. Alternate the Ice on and off - 10 minutes on and some time off. Get well. Report Inappropriate Comment |

So sorry about your sprain! Yes, you need to avoid running on it while it heals, & even minimize walking. You can do upper-body strength training, & I bet swimming would feel good. Report Inappropriate Comment |

Give your ankle plenty of time to heal. Ice, rest and elevate. Check out the Limited Mobility Lifestyle Center. It has great info for workout when you're hurt. http://www.sparkpeople.com /resource/lifestyle_center_deta il.asp?id=19 Report Inappropriate Comment |

Well, don't work out while you're injured! That's asking for trouble!!! Maybe look up chair workouts... Report Inappropriate Comment |

NOV.2011
feb 2013
My sparkversary is supposed to be 2 days ago on the 12th of March precisely but I was not in a good frame of mind on that day and not having internet access very late that night made me to be doing this blog now.
That notwithstanding,i am happy to be sharing my journey so far . . .
When i joined SP through a friend's share on facebook,I just fell in love with the site and moreso, that it's so FREE. I joined on that day i saw the link but did not start tracking anything till around May 2012 though i was reading all the daily mails, articles, blogs etc being shared on SP.
Before November 2012,i was dedicated and tracking my 30 minutes workouts (jogging and biking mainly) i had only lost about 5 kilos. Tracking my nutrition was hard since i live in Nigeria and eating mainly our local foods (didn't know the amount of calories in them) but with the help of FEMISLIM, a spark friend i had a major breakthrough and people noticed that i lost weight.
I maybe slow to reaching my goal weight but i am far from where i used to be,i have had a number of non scale victories:
- Last year when i joined SP,I was jogging 7 laps on a standard athletic track for 30
minutes, gradually i went from 8 laps to even 9.5 laps late last year but now i do more than 11 laps(but not up to 12 laps) in 30 minutes.
- My clothes no longer fits,i have gone from a size 20 to size 16.
- I have done about four 5k's (gone from finishing in 40 minutes to 35 minutes.)
- I am stronger and more confident,
ISN'T THIS PROGRESS?
I have also learnt that with consistency and discipline, one can achieve what he/she sets his/her heart to achieve.
I am not also going to punish myself for not reaching my initial goal weight of 85 kilos because i know that if i don't give up,I will reach my final goal weight eventually.
I am thanking the great team on SP especially for making this site FREE,for the numerous articles, blogs etc which have been of tremendous help on my journey towards achieving a healthy body.
I also appreciate all the supports of FEMISLIM,all my spark friends and all the members of my spark teams . . . you have been so wonderful
I am looking forward to a great second sparkversary.
Thank you SP!
