About Time

Saturday, June 04, 2011

It's been ages since I did a blog entry so I figured it's about time. So last year I finally lost those 20lbs and so far they are still gone! I went to a new doctor and he discovered I had a thyroid issue that was throwing all my hormones out of balance. While I'll never say I'm a balanced person (LOL emoticon) I am a lot closer now! If you are working out like crazy and eating healthy and the weight just won't come off I suggest having your thyroid checked, two weeks after I started on the medicine the weight just started melting off! I went from a size 12 to a size 4 emoticon in about two months.

To help keep me motivated I have been signing up for 5ks and mud runs. I did the Warrior Dash earlier this year and it was a BLAST!! I have another one in June and one in September. Who knows I may go all out and try the Tough Mudder!

Tired

Monday, June 29, 2009

I'm tired of exercising and watching my calorie intake! I want to just wake up and be magically in shape and 20 pounds lighter. I've been stuck at between 142 and 144 for MONTHS. I've changed my workouts I've added workouts and here I sit at the same weight.......AAAAGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!

I'm still watching my calories and still walking, but stuck. I'll try what KaylSLynn was suggesting.....UGH emoticon emoticon

Weekends

Saturday, April 18, 2009

I love weekends relaxing, just hanging out at the house. What I HATE about the weekends is how two little days can undo a week's worth of hard work at the gym and eating right. The well meaning friend that makes you favorite treat......."because you've been working so hard" and the spouse that tells you how wonderful the ice cream is REALLY it's GREAT!

Well folks this weekend is going to be different! I WILL eat right even if it is a Saturday and I will find a few minutes to exercise.

I was GOOD this weekend! Except for the nachos at the art fair... But I worked my hamstrings off other than that. And I STILL gained 2 pounds. Weekends. Suck.

OMG!! The weekends are the WORST. I always have every intention to exercise and then don't. Usually my caloric intake is worse also because I have easier access to the fridge. What can we do to fix this? Well, I was feeling lazy today and MADE myself get up and walk for an hour. I also logged my food for the day and was going to eat something for supper, but it would make me over my range, so opted for something else. I guess little steps, huh?

This week

Sunday, April 05, 2009

This week WILL be better. I WILL stay on track ALL WEEK. Last week I did pretty good then had a bad day....or two. Why does stress make a cheeseburger taste sooo much better?
This is a new week and I'm going to make the most of it!

Sometimes things do taste so much better when we are stressed...or we think so anyway. Keep on track. We can all bounce back after a day or two off track. Take care, Sheila

I am just in a funk today. I have no motivation all I want to do is sit and whine. Hopefully tomorrow will be better!

Just read this blog. Now...that was Saturday, so whine time is over. Today is a new day....start with 20 jumping jacks to get the heart beating and dance or move to music. Makes alot of difference. Just MOVE!

“Even if you are on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.”

SparkPeople Translation
You can have the best plan in the world, full of timelines, specific outcomes and contingency plans. But if you’re not willing to take that first step, your plan will just hang on the wall like flypaper. Action creates opportunity. Action builds momentum. Action clears the path to success. Inaction just leads to regret. Once you take that first step, it’s important to keep moving. Your past actions got you where you are today. They’ve done their job. They can’t be expected to carry you all the way to tomorrow’s goals too. Your future requires new action. What are you going to do between now and then to see it through? Take a look at your plan. Find one step – any step – and get moving…. go on, what are you waiting for?…. pull away from your computer and do it now…. here comes the train….

Don't sit and whine! That will just make you want to whine more! Get up and move around. Even if it is walking while you are watching TV. Get your body moving and that will get your brain working towards being kinder to yourself. POSITIVE attitude begets more positive attitude. Put on some upbeat music - that will get you going!
You can DO THIS!
