A "ruff" two weeks!!

Wednesday, July 27, 2011

It's been a rough few weeks. My husband and I returned from our vacation two weeks ago and picked up our little beagle from the kennel. She was out of it for a few days, but we chalked it up to just getting acclimated back into our routine. Three days later, she couldn't walk!! Petrified, I took her to the vets, who then told me to take her to emergency, who then told me to take her to a neurologist who specialized in back injuries. Our poor beagle had to have surgery to repair two ruptured discs in her back. It's two weeks later and she's recuperating well. I'm sooo thankful she will be okay. Her healing process will take up to eight weeks, but already I'm seeing improvements. Keep her in your doggy prayers!!

P.S. I haven't exercised much at all...

Sorry to hear about your little darling. Ours just got fixed a month ago, and she was out of commission for a week. It threw my routine for a loop, but I was so worried about her that I wasn't motivated to do anything else except make sure she was okay.

I'm glad that she is going to be okay. I will keep her and your family in my prayers.

Okay, so I changed my "name"!

Tuesday, January 04, 2011

Okay, so I changed my "name"! I just thought....It's a new year, a new start, and a new me...why not a new name?? So there, nothing fancy just NEW A in 2011. New and improved! My goals for the new year are to be more positive about myself and not view setbacks as failures. I don't want to live in the past; only concentrate on the here and now. These are not lofty goals; they are very attainable....

I love the fact that I learn soooo much from those around me. I learn something new everyday. ( And believe me, I'm no spring chicken!) My "Spark Family" helps me in that regard as well. Sparkpeople helps me to hold myself accountable.

I look forward to each and every success. Happy New Year fellow Sparkers; Happy new you too!

Pleased with my follow-through!

Tuesday, November 02, 2010

I'm really pleased with my daily workout regimen. I've never been much of a "scheduler", but now all of a sudden, I'm planning my workouts and my meals. So far, it's been a success. Writing out everything and holding myself accountable helps. WooHoo!!

Oh, I forgot to answer your question - I had some much needed and long awaited surgery done to both my feet in 08 and 10 (lots of bones growing every which way that needed to be moved around). I'm so glad it's over so that I can "step forward" (pun intended, of course) and get back to my goal which I had reached just months before my first surgery.

It's great to be a "scheduler," isn't it?? Organization is important. Keep up the good work. It sounds like you're on a mission!!

Survived Halloween!

Monday, November 01, 2010

Well, I survived Halloween relatively unscathed. I ate one "100 Grand" Snack bar, but that's about it with the candy. We had LOTS of children visiting last night...

I welcome a new day to get back on track with the exercise. (Took yesterday off except for raking.) I went to water aerobics this am early today. Later on in the afternoon, I will do all my footwork (elliptical, treadmill, cycling).

Oh, had a blast doing Zumba this past Saturday. What a GREAT workout!

Have a great day, everyone, whatever you do!

We hardly had any kids trick or treating this year. I guess our neighborhood is "aging."

It sounds like you are doing great with staying away from the candy as well as working out. Keep up the good work!

Exercising every day so far and mixing it up!

Sunday, October 17, 2010

I've been exercising every day so far and mixing it up! Yesterday my hubby, dog and I went hiking in the mountains. It was a beautiful day; the fall colors were richly painting the countryside. I enjoyed our outing immensely. (The dog- not so much...she was bushed!!)
