3 years with SP

Sunday, May 30, 2010

Although my current page notes my starting date with SP as 2/22/10 I accidently closed my account just b4 that date and have in fact been an active member much longer- since June 2007 although I didn't really get into the swing of losing weight til Jan 2008.

So 3 years have gone by and I've only just realised thanks to a reminder on my calender. How time flies when you're having fun.
Thanks to ALL my SP friends for being there when I've been down, cheering on my sucesses, supporting me in times of trouble and keeping me focused and for voting me for a second time as motivator (a while back now).
I could not have come this far without you.

Goals and exercise routines for June 2010

Sunday, May 30, 2010

For June I promised myself I'd keep to suggestions from a personal trainer on here (who seems to have done a disappearing act) and up the ante on my multi gym by adding some small ankle weights to the resistance cord.

So this is what my strength training is like and will continue to be for June (hopefully emoticon)

I aim for 2 sessions on the multi gym, 2 with dumb bells and ball and 2 core workouts a week.
I've timed each session now for some time and they all take about 35 mins excluding the plank which I add on accordingly.

When I started with SP I never envisaged being able to half of this!

MULTI GYM WORKOUT FROM May/ June 2010 lasts about 35 minutes
Used to add 2 x 500gram ankle weights to the multigym resistance weights as I couldn’t go up in the 6 kilo weights on the machine- now on SOME exercises I’m adding 4 x 500 gram weights but keeping some at 2 so now hauling………………………………

Single leg Outer thigh rise (4 x 15 reps) 8 kilo 17.6 pounds
Inner thigh abduction (4 x 12 reps) 8 kilo 17.6 pounds
Lateral pull downs (1 x 15 reps) 13 kilo 28.7 pounds
Lateral pull downs (1 x 15 reps) 19 kilo 41.9 pounds
Mid row (1 x 15 reps) 13 kilo 28.66 pounds
Mid row (1 x 15 reps) 19 kilo 41.9 pounds
Leg curls (4 x 15 reps each leg) 8 kilo 17.6 pounds
Leg curls (2 x 5 reps each leg) 13 kilo 28.7 pounds
Pectoral Fly (2 x15 reps) 8 kilo 17.6 pounds
Seated leg extensions (1 x15 reps) 13 kilo 28.7 pounds
Seated leg extensions (1 x 12 reps) 19 kilo 41.9 pounds
Incline press (2 x 10 reps) 8 kilo 17.6 pounds
Decline press (2 x15 reps) 8 kilo 17.6 pounds
Bicep curls (2 x 15 reps) 3 kilo 6.6 pounds
Wrist curls (2 x 15 reps) 3 kilo 6.6 pounds
Bench press (2 x 15 reps) 8 kilo 17.6 pounds

CORE AND LEG WORKOUT FROM May/ June 2010 lasts about 35 minutes

4 x 15 crunches on ball
4 x 15 bridges on ball
1 x 70 crunches with alternate arm reach to left knee and right knee
2 x 15 roll out using ball
2 x 15 back extensions on ball
2 x 15 reverse crunches wearing 2 pounds of ankle weights on each ankle
4 x 15 side singles outer leg raises to right wearing 2 pounds of ankle weights on each ankle
4 x 15 side abductions wearing 2 pounds of ankle weights on each ankle
2 x 15 clamshell crunches with ball
2 x 15 crunches with twist to left
2 x 15crunches with twist to right
4 x 15 single leg bridges wearing 2 pounds of ankle weights on each ankle
1x 10 Side Plank with waist twist/swing left
1x 10 Side Plank with waist twist/swing right

1 plank for at least 3 mins (I try to do it for the duration of whatever record is being played on the radio at the time of my workout)

I go for 250 crunches. By doing the crunches in 2 and 3 stages it works my abs that little bit harder. Finish with stretching and yoga plough position

TOTAL BODY WEIGHTS/BALL WORKOUT FROM May/ June 2010 lasts about 35 minutes

now do 2 reps of 15 with 2 kilo (4.4 pounds)-dumb bells/ankle weight worn on wrists combo or I mix up the weights doing 1 or 2 reps of 8 at 3.5 kilo (7.7 pounds)

* These exercises I do with/on/against a ball for an added core workout

*Wrist curls while holding a squat
*Wide leg squats (I call them plies) coming up into Over Head Raises with calf raises
*Lateral raises
*Forward raises
*Single forward lunges with bicep curl
Side bends with dumbbells
Lateral lunges
*One-arm dumbbell rows
* Tricep kick backs
*Flys (or as we call them in the UK pec decs for chest)
*Chest presses
*Lying tricep extensions

7 Degrees of Blonde

Sunday, May 30, 2010

7 degrees of Blonde

FIRST DEGREE
A married couple was asleep when the phone rang at 2 in the morning. The very blonde wife picked up the phone, listened a moment, and said 'How should I know, that's 200 miles from here!' and hung up. The husband said, 'Who was that?'

The wife answered, 'I don't know, some woman wanting to know if the coast is clear.'

SECOND DEGREE
Two blondes are walking down the street. One notices a compact on the sidewalk and leans down to pick it up. She opens it, looks in the mirror and says, 'Hmm, this person looks familiar.'

The second blonde says, 'Here, let me see!'

So, the first blonde hands her the compact.

The second blonde looks in the mirror and says, 'You dummy, it's me!'

THIRD DEGREE
A blonde suspects her boyfriend of cheating on her, so she goes out and buys a gun. She goes to his apartment unexpectedly and when she opens the door she finds him in the arms of a redhead. Well, the blonde is really angry. She opens her purse to take out the gun, and as she does so, she is overcome with grief. She takes the gun and puts it to her head.

The boyfriend yells, 'No, honey, don't do it!!!'

The blonde replies, 'Shut up, you're next!'

FOURTH DEGREE
A blonde was bragging about her knowledge of state capitals. She proudly says, 'Go ahead, ask me... I know 'em all.'

A friend says, 'OK, what's the capital of Wisconsin ?'

The blonde replies, 'Oh, that's easy. Its W.'

FIFTH DEGREE
Q: What did the blonde ask her doctor when he told her she was pregnant?
A: 'Is it mine?'

SIXTH DEGREE
Bambi, a blonde in her fourth year as a UCLA Freshman, sat in her US Government class. The professor asked Bambi if she knew what Roe vs. Wade was about..

Bambi pondered the question; then, finally, said, 'That was the decision George Washington had to make before he crossed the Delaware .'

SEVENTH DEGREE
Returning home from work, a blonde was shocked to find her house ransacked and burglarized. She telephoned the police at once and reported the crime. The police dispatcher broadcast the call on the radio, and a K-9 unit, patrolling nearby, was the first to respond.

As the K-9 officer approached the house with his dog on a leash, the blonde ran out on the porch, shuddered at the sight of the cop and his dog, then sat down on the steps. Putting her face in her hands, she moaned, 'I come home to find all my possessions stolen. I call the police for help, and what do they do? They send me a BLIND COP!'
