Murphy's hat

Murphy showed up at Mass one Sunday and the priest almost fell down when he saw him. He'd never been to church in his life.


So, after Mass, the priest caught up with him and said, "Murphy, I am so glad ya decided to come to Mass. What made ya come?”


Murphy said, "I got to be honest with you, Father. A while back, I misplaced me hat and I really, really love that hat. I know that McGlynn had a hat just like mine and I knew he came to church every Sunday. I also knew that he had to take off his hat during Mass and I figured he would leave it in the back of church. So, I was going to leave after Communion and steal McGlynn's hat."


The priest, looking at Murphy’s empty hands, said, "Well, Murphy, I notice that ya didn't steal McGlynn's hat. What changed our mind?"


Murphy replied, "Well, after I heard your sermon on the 10 Commandments, I decided that I didn't need to steal McGlynn's hat after all."


With a tear in his eye the priest gave Murphy a big smile and said; "After I talked about 'Thou Shalt Not Steal', ya decided you would rather do without your hat than burn in Hell?"


Murphy slowly shook his head. "No, Father, after ya talked about 'Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery' I remembered where I had left me hat."

I totally agree that you need carbs, but not in the excess that most of us have, and not the processed junk that is the norm for carbs. Even wheat as it is so diff than even the wheat grown 50 years ago let alone way back when it was a wholesome food. Another thing, most carbs come loaded with sugar and then become addictive. I have to say I also don't believe the food pyramind be in the US or Canadian one- if it was working and people were following it even the diabetics, there would be less disease and diabetes, heart issues but these diseases are more prevalent leading some to believe that it is not the proper way to be eating. When I am on primal diet, I do the best, that with limited carbs or veggie carbs and perhaps a bit of rice or pasta. Refined carbs even the pasta can make me want to binge, but mostly the refined ones. Saying all this, and also saying that I have not been doing good primal for at least 2 wks, I will go have a pc of hubbys birthday cake - he chose and wanted a mix with store icing. Can we say sugar, corn syrup and wheat all that I so think are wrong for us. Okay back to let them eat cake!!! then send the rest to friends family oh no maybe it should be send the rest to the enemy! LOL Report Inappropriate Comment

THE BLONDE AND THE LORD

A blonde wanted to go ice fishing. She'd seen many books on the subject, and finally getting all the necessary tools together, she made for the ice.

After positioning her comfy footstool, she started to make a circular cut in the ice. Suddenly, from the sky, a voice boomed,

"THERE ARE NO FISH UNDER THE ICE."

Startled, the blonde moved further down the ice, poured a thermos of cappuccino, and began to cut yet another hole. Again from the heavens the voice bellowed,

"THERE ARE NO FISH UNDER THE ICE."

The blonde, now worried, moved away, clear down to the opposite end of the ice. She set up her stool once more and tried again to cut her hole.

The voice came once more,

"THERE ARE NO FISH UNDER THE ICE."

She stopped, looked skyward, and said,
"IS THAT YOU LORD?"

The voice replied . . .

"No, this is the manager of the hockey rink."

Osprey hawk

This has to be one of the best video's I have ever seen. What a bird an Osprey Hawk is!

There are 3 sequences in this one video:
1st sequence he catches half a dozen fish in one strike.
2nd sequence he plunges talons into deep water right to the bottom to grab his prey.
3rd sequence he captures a big old fat fish that looks as if it weighs more than he does!

Living inland, I'd never seen an Osprey before, until at a race at the beach recently. One of these beautiful birds flew a few laps over us as we ran, he was showing off the beautiful little fish he'd caught for breakfast :). I had to go home and look up what it was. Change of plan

Well I was planning on driving to the coast today but F1 takes precedence in DH’s world so it’s not going to happen. Instead I’m going to Uxbridge after my cardio and browse the shops for a while the come home and enjoy the garden.

I know with this hot weather my body needs to adjust and I might not hit 10k on the bike in my usual 30 mins so I'll just set a comfortable pace and see how long 10k takes!

Looking forward to a smoked salmon and prawn salad tonight with some hot new potatoes tossed in and eating it in the garden watching the sun go down. Bliss. Small things like that make me happy

Cooler today and no sun yet. Supposed to rain a bit. We are going to be consumers... lol going shopping, he needs something on sale for renos.
