Politicians make me mad ! Vent!

Saturday, March 31, 2012

Yeah! The petrol tanker drivers' union had threatened to strike and some twit in our illustrious government foolishly advised filling Gerry Cans and topping up just in case! SO..........panic buying and long, long queues.
Yesterday one woman was seriously burned as she tried to transfer petrol from one container to another in her kitchen and the heat ignited the fuel on her! One born every minute but I do feel for her- 40% burns.
So now they're calling for the politician to resign- like that's gonna help!!
AND the union have now said they're still in negotiations and striking has not been considered!
Makes you mad huh?!

Pete only had to wait 15 mins for a petrol fill up yesterday- we were NOT stockpilling, we were running on empty and needed fuel for the hospital runs.
But you could see the frustration on some drivers' faces, praying that petrol would not run out by the time they got to the pump. But all were good natured, no pushing or shoving to get to the pumps. The great British public are BRILLIANT as queueing

You've gotta laugh at the situation this country is getting into or you'd cry!

I love us Brits but we're not the greatest for using common sense at times are we. If we don't even know when (or if) they're going to strike what's the point of panic buying now? The car would be empty again by the time the strike happened. Gawd bless us....we need it!! emoticon

Don't yall think we need to turn back to our Creator? After all He knows what is going on and what will go on! Let's seek forgiveness and repentance and ask Him to "heal our land". He said to do that in His Word and I believe Him; do you?

I know how you feel. It's a MAD world. If he had said nothing I think the public would have decided for themselves whether or not it was necessary to fill up instead of them creating a panic!! MAD!! And what about the pasties???!!!! I won't go there!!!! LOL!!! MAD!!!! emoticon

You & Pete are rolling with the punches. I believe it's your natural way. As to the politician's I'm with GABY1948, it's a world-wide epidemic.
we would all benefit by determining if we reacting or responding before we take action. One can dream, yes???

What a fuss over nothing... is there really something else going on.. if we focus on this are they trying to pass something they do not want us to know about ?
My car is now topped up ready for a drive to Liverpool at short notice. Malcolm went to fill up (down below 1/4) but so far 2 nearest stations are out of fuel frustrating emoticon

There was a punch-up at the pumps on the Asda petrol station forecourt in Colchester! Someone drove over someone else's foot apparently, in their haste to get to a pump. Fisticuffs ensued, and the police had to be called in to break it up!

There has been some truly dumb knee-jerk reactions from the PM and his cohorts over nothing - it turns out. Politicians open their mouths and insert their foot on a daily basis. If they all resigned for doing that we'd have no one running the country! LOL

Not that what happened to that woman isn't awful, because it was! But unless it was as a direct result of that politician's advice, then it was just a horrendous coincidence, and the media feeding frenzy needs to stop.

Hugs,
Lex xxx

How frustrating, Caz... and that poor woman... fear and an attitude of scarcity is so debilitating! I pray for all of you abundance (and abundance plus a bit more for you and Pete)!

I am now, finally, off to sleep I think... I've already scheduled a sleep in tomorrow if I need it... God bless my dear, dear husband... and Miss O takes care of me wonderfully, too... I wish she didn't have to... I worry that it's changing her and not for the better. SIGH.

oh Bliss

Friday, March 30, 2012

Oh Bliss! On Wednesday I had a day off from visiting MIL and had my hair highlighted and for the first time ever had a facial and professsional manicure (usually muddle through on my own) and it was heavenly emoticon just what I needed to unwind. So I'm ready for Round 2 now.
MIL was a bit confused yesterday and her legs are swelling, hoping to see the doc today to tell her and get some advice.
The weather is just amazing here at the mo and I've been able to get a workout in early and get an hour in the sun before the hospital visits or take my strength training into the garden and kill two birds at once. I am lapping up the vitamin D for all I am worth and am getting a glowing sun tan already and now I've had that pamper session I'm ready for anything.

Glad to see you've pampered yourself a little....you deserve it. I've NEVER had any treatments done but maybe i should....

Hope your MIL isn't getting cellulitis (I think it's called). My Grandma used to get it and her legs would leak fluid from the swelling. Hope the doctor can give her relief emoticon emoticon

This weather is great isn't it? I've been able to sit out in the sun too and just love it.

Sorry to hear that your MIL was a bit confused and that her legs are swollen. Maybe it's the medication she's on.

Enjoy another sunny day!

I would like this Guy from dubbo to be in my sales team

Thursday, March 29, 2012

THE AUSTRALIAN APPROACH

A young Aussie lad moved to London and went to Harrods looking for a job.

The manager asked 'Do you have any sales experience?'

The young man answered 'Yeah, I was a salesman back home in Dubbo.'

The manager liked the Aussie so he gave him the job.

His first day was challenging and busy, but he got through it.

After the store was locked up, the manager came down and asked, 'OK, so how many sales did you make today?'

The Aussie said 'One!'

The manager groaned and continued, 'Just one? Our sales people average 20 or 30 sales a day.

How much was the sale for?'
'124,237.64p.'

The manager choked and exclaimed 124,237.64!!
What the hell did you sell him?'

'Well, first I sold him a small fish hook, then a medium fish hook and then I sold him a new fishing rod.'

'Then I asked him where he was going fishing and he said down at the coast, so I told him he would need a boat, so we went down to the boat department and I sold him that twin-engine Power Cat.'

'Then he said he didn't think his Honda Civic would pull it, so I took him down to car sales and I sold him the 4 x4

The manager, incredulous, said, 'You mean to tell me...a guy came in here to buy a fish hook and you sold him a boat and a 4x4?'

'No, no, no... he came in here to buy a box of tampons for his lady friend and I said...
' Well, since your weekend's buggered, you might as well go fishing.'

Male Logic. Men do listen!

Monday, March 26, 2012

Here is proof that husbands do listen to their wives.

Milk and eggs

This is a story which is perfectly logical to all males:

A wife asks her husband,
"Could you please go shopping for me and buy one carton of milk,
And if they have eggs, get 6."

A short time later the husband comes back with 6 cartons of milk.
The wife asks him, "Why did you buy 6 cartons of milk?"

He replied, "They had eggs."
