Trying again for the ___th time

Sunday, October 16, 2011

So, I've attempted to get back my health and shape so many times. I realize I cannot do this without the accountability of Sparkpeople. It is so easy for the food to not count if it's not entered and tallied. I am still astonished at how many calories most tasty foods have! I also need to get back into my circuit training/weight training routine.

So, today, I walked for 45 minutes. This is nothing new. I also did a little more than half of Jillian Michaels' No More Trouble Zones. Basically, I completed the warm-up, one set of each exercise and all of the core exercises and cool down.

I have aimed to eat much raw food today along in a sort of grazing fashion. Restricting caloric intake so much in order to lose 10 pounds by Christmas means I feel hungry often. I am trying to look at eating three small meals with two small snacks. This helps with the jitters I get when I go too long without food.

So, here's to trying again.

Totally bummed

Saturday, April 09, 2011

I had a carcinoma surgically removed from my back yesterday, and I didn't realize I would have to stop working out. No treadmill for at least a week -- preferably two. ugh

Well, I guess there will be no weight loss for a while, not that there had really been any since I started. ugh

Thank you so much. It's sort of a joke around here that I ended up with skin cancer, because I haven't worn a bathing suit in 13 years, and I avoid the sun like the plague. I am happy to hear your husband has a success story as well. :)

Sorry about the surgery, but so glad you caught it! My husband's had a melanoma removed, and so I'm always happy to hear about people who've caught skin cancer early enough for safety. Hope your recovery is quick and uncomplicated!

Thank you so much! I started walking again on my treadmill yesterday and again this morning. I went for a bike ride yesterday as well. I am still being careful as the incision is healing, but I think I will try jogging a little tomorrow.

We had company over the weekend, so my eating habits went awry. LOL

Take care of your surgery recovery first. Soon you'll be back at it!

Jogging, Eating, Measuring

Wednesday, April 06, 2011

I've added 5 to 10-minute spurts of jogging to my treadmill routine. What a difference in how I feel! I can feel different muscle areas being strengthened as well. No significant weight-loss, but I think my pajama pants are fitting more loosely now. I didn't start tracking my other measurements until April 2. I walk/jog for 50-60 minutes a day.

I've done really well with my nutritional choices -- staying within my recommended caloric intake. I've added supplements for vitamins and minerals I appear to be lacking in.

I'm eating so many fruits and veggies and really limiting my bread and pasta. I've had two slices of bread (at a restaurant) in the last three weeks, and last night, I only had 1/2 cup penne pasta with my meat and bean sauce.

I ordered a pulse oximeter from Amazon (it will arrive today), so I can start monitoring my resting heart rate in the morning. I keep putting it off because it's a pain timing myself.

I also ordered a scale (also arriving today) that's supposed to be very accurate from Amazon. So, I'll probably end up having to increase my starting weight and current weight, because it's supposed to be more in line with the doctor's office scale (ugh).

Ugh -- ate two cookies after lunch

I guess I'll walk some more tonight. emoticon

It shouldn't be bad that you did that! Like you said just walk a little more! We all need a little treat every once and a while! Don't beat yourself up too bad!!

I've been a member for 3.5 years? With no progress? ugh Now THAT is depressing. I have to -- I just have to change this.
