Well got another trail done on Sunday when mom was here. It wasnt a long trail as most of the ones we have left to walk a\rent long but it was 1.3 k so ever bit counts. Got a few pictures to share so here goes.
Mary you were curious as to see the face of the camera guy so we took a picture of us together. picture 2 is Kyle and i. He is the one that lives with us and takes all the pictures for me .
well todays trail was not the most exciting or challenging but its seems as we have done the longer more scenic and challenging trails so most of them are smaller ones. None the less the goal was to complete them all so thats what were doing.
First i ll talk about Meatbird trail since there's not really much to tell. It was kind of a joke after some of the trails we have walked. This trail looped around a little pond type lake and was 1 kn in length. In fact it took us a whole 10 mins to walk . we did get a few photos however there on my moms camera so i dont have any to post. We completed this trail on July.30th, 2011
Now On to Kelly Lake and all i have to say is wow What a hike. None like i have ever experienced. I didnt think it was ever going to end and i was beat. In fact i think i still felt the effects the next day. It was a trail that was said to be 4.5 k each way but we re not sure if it was 4.5 or 4 in any event it went on forever. It was a hot day and some parts of the trail i felt i was trudging through the hot dessert. I made sure to bring some nuts for refueling my energy and lots of water which for me turned out to still not be enough. A funny thing happened to me on this hike, well at elast its funny to me now but i tell you it wasnt at the time. You see i have this thing for walking behind everyone. I hate it specially in the bush im afraid animals will come out and want to eat me first lol. Well anyways after compelting the trail one way and on our way back i was walking along and because i was getting really tired and yes i think even a little over heated i kind of felt a little out of it. sometimes i think when i feel this way my mind plays tricks on me, anyways as i was walking along i thought i heard some noises behind me and so when i turned around i saw this black thing at quick glance so i screamed real loud then once i saw it was just a dog i burst out sobbing just from being in such a state of shock. I LAUGH about it now but its scared the heck out of me. I foudn the walk back twice as difficult as i was so tired out and i felt like i was going to throw up and had to stop a few times but i did it. I felt such a sense of accomplisment by completing it. I dont think i have ever walked that far intentionally much less at the size i am . I was so proud of me.
Now this trail actually has other trails that overlap this one but this part of junction trail was actual a 2 k walk that we completed july.29th,2011. My mom was visiting so she got to come with us which was nice . everyone getting out and getting healthy together. its nice having the support of my family. This trail starts in the downtown core of the city, i know hard to believe but its true .Heres just some of the photos we took .
