My Wedding Gown doesn't fit!!!

Thursday, January 27, 2011

So an update to my previous entry about my wedding attire. I changed my mind about the dress. I found a gorgeous dress on unique vintage that had the rosette skirt that I've been eyeing on a gown at Davids Bridal.

So I purchased the dress on tuesday and had it overnighted. I even ordered a size larger than I normally wear. I wear a 16, but ordered an 18. I figured that most gowns are a size or two smaller and went by my measurements.

Well I went to try the dress on today and as I was zipping it, the zipper broke! It just wouldn't budge and I tried to push it. So now I have to find an alterations place that can hopefully make it a corset back or add fabric and a new zipper!

Hope they can do it before February 11th. We leave for Vegas on the 12th. Everything else is already booked.

This is what I get for doing everything last minute.

Here's the dress I purchased:

The dress is beautiful; sizes are always dependent on the designer.

Beautiful dress! Sizes can be so tricky. Like the others have said, a good seamstress can work magic. Good luck!

I hope you have a great seamstress in your area. they can do wonders. I wouldn't corset it because it may burst at an inopportune moment. you would be devastated! have her add some see material or maybe even some pretty lace for just a "peek"

Good luck my dear! I got married in vegas (I was raised there and was still living thee) in the Little White Chapel.

I'm sorry! i know how stressful this situation is but I'm sure a seamstress will be able to knock it out ASAP.

She inspires me! PICS

Whitney Thompson, winner of ANTM inspires me. She is a beautiful plus size model. I'd love to get my body to look like hers in the next six months.

She looks amazing. Is this what we consider plus size? I wish I was plus size if that's what we are calling it these days!

Isn't it crazy a beautiful body like that is considered "plus" size? She looks beautiful, normal, and healthy. Our society has really got to get it together and get real.

Plus size models are really regular size people, they're just bigger than the straight (regular) size models. The sizing start around a size eight for plus and 0 for straight. They do it that way so the clothing hangs better or something like that.

Wow if that is plus size, that's what I want to grow up to be!

Thought this was a great picture representing men's ideal size for women vs our ideal for ourselves vs the national average.

Love this! I guess I'm the national average too. But like the rest of you my 16 isn't nearly this smooth. I have lots more lumps and bumps, but that's ok. I'm just glad to be in a 16 (from a 26/28) emoticon

I was going to say the same, if I looked like that at size sixteen - I would have been content. I don't even look like that now! :)

Yeah her 16 is different from mine too. I have larger arms and a little bit more of a stomach.

Wow, cool pic. Well, I am a little bit smaller than the average right now, size 14, but she looks way better than me. I guess that's what happens after 3 babies, lol.

A New Year- An Improved You

Saturday, January 01, 2011

I love the start of a new year, it's so full of new ambitions and high hopes. Fresh expectations and just an overall feeling of refreshment.

So I beg all of you to take hold of that feeling and keep it going through all your days. especially those days when you just want to slip back into old habits and give up on all those goals that sometimes seem so hard to reach.

We can do this!!!! Happy New Year!

You are exactly right! I don't plan to allow old things to invade my new things.

I plan to focus on each day as it comes. I am not taking any of the bad things from 2010 into my new clean 2011, that includes old habits or bad memories or bad feelings! Positive will be my motto!
