Can't believe it-I won!!!

Friday, December 19, 2008

So, I just looked over on the dailySpark to see who were the lucky winners of the iPods this week....and one of them was ME! And to make things even cooler-it was the Nano!

I e-mailed DH to tell him and he wrote back "See, all your running has paid off!"

Thanks Spark!

When you get this thing and logon to itunes check out the nike+ runners catalog. I found this and i am hooked. I'm a runner also and love the lance armstrong endurance run. My nano has improved my whole program....

Sweat-my new best friend.

Monday, November 10, 2008

So I was looking at my old entries and saw how stoked I got dropping into "new" weight territory. That same feeling has been with me this week because I'm down below 140 (or the dreaded plateau of 142.6) for the first time since my wedding over 6 months ago. I've been consistent with it too for a week! I keep prancing around in my jeans marvelling at the smaller muffin top.

I'm crediting the Couch to 5K program (and team on SP) for giving my body that push it needs. A 3 times per week program is SO manageable. I got to day 2 and was worried about finding the time to do #3. There was no way i was going to let a measly 30 minutes of laziness get in the way of accomplishing a goal-so i did it. It feels so great and fun to plan out my workouts too. I'm actually looking forward to working out for once.

Here's hoping my next entry will be "Thanks SP and C25K for giving me back my healthy on to maintain that goal!"

The good and the disappointing ; / ...with some TMI

Friday, August 29, 2008

So DH and i are going to TTC in April. I'm going off the pill in January and we're preparing by doing a wine country trip and skiing before a little one ties us down a bit.

Our favorite Aunt..Flo was going to visit on my honeymoon in April- so I did that trick of not taking the placebo pills and had a great beachy time with my new hubby. My body has been making me pay for it ever since. Since April, I had only had 1 visit and it was 2 months ago. I had just been to my gyn last week and got and "all good" for the regular stuff so i knew I was otherwise healthy.

So the disappointing comes in where I had to tell DH after 2 months of of no Flo. He was a bit shocked but said- let's test on Friday if nothing shows up(this was Wednesday and I was supposed to start Monday night). Well last night I started spotting. I told Danny and he said-"It's a bit disappointing, but I guess it's all good-I really did want to go skiing." (*heart wrench*) I was feeling the same way. I mean i was bummed about going to Napa in a week and having to forgo drinking, but it would have been cool to have a little one in the spring.

Such mixed emotions- I never thought i had it in me.

need some prayers/good thoughts

My brand new Sister-in-law is due for baby #2 at the end of July. Long story short, she has some difficulties carrying and her first baby was early after a few scares and weeks of bed rest. Well, at 7.5 months-she's in the hospital and the doctor is telling us to prepare to meet this new baby soon.
All indications are that baby#2 is OK and will just be a preemie-but we're all nervous.
I figure good thoughts and prayers for the safety and health of this baby and momma couldn't hurt.
Thanks Sparkers.

When you least expect it

I was getting a bit down on myself for not doing well on exercise and food choices recently- wedding stress. between my shower and my birthday last week- I was BAD. So FI and I were both talking. He's determined to kick up his exercise for the next 2 weeks until the wedding- I was going to let myself relax and not worry about calories and cardio-then pick up again after the wedding. Well- he convinced me that sticking with it is worth it.
Seems like the universe is on his side. I step on the scale this morning after avoiding it for a week or so. Friday night was a decadent birthday dinner, yesterday was a child's birthday followed by grown-up wine and chatting. I ate the leftover quadruple chocolate cake leftover from the friday gluttony for dinner last night-trying to cleanse the house of bad food for today.
My results this morning? 138.4! I have been so frustrated never getting below 139. That GW of 138 was so elusive-I thought i was never going to get there. How awesome. Even when I'm down on me- the body gives me hope and lets me know its all possible. I even posted a reply right away so i could see the updated slider and siggy!
