Possibly the worst race photo ever...or at least the worst of me so far

Monday, January 14, 2013

Marathonfoto was having a sale so I purchased this bad picture. Judy looks great crossing the finish line with her arms up. I've got a really stupid look on my face. Oh well. Enjoy.

Like my husband said, you look like you've been exercising, there's nothing disgusting about that - you are doing it! and THAT makes it a great picture! Looks like you are at Disney or somethin'

Whoohoo! Congratulations on finishing the race! Sometimes those race photographers miss the enthusiastic "I made it!" moment, but I would take any "finish" photo over no photo at all...I didn't get one photo from my birthday 15k.

This is a cool photo. I think you look great! I try to candid photos of my wife all the time. But she has a sixth sense about cameras.

I know it feels good to cross that finish line. 1/10th of a second later and you would have had a "glamour" shot. I like this one. It shows that running a race is not easy.

Thanks, Bruce

If this is the worst, then it's not so bad. I must be the least photogenic person around! I just laugh when I see my photos. I always have one eye squintched or my mouth open or something stupid. Never fails. And don't even ask about the photos that hubby takes of me getting out of the pool at a triathlon. Good gosh. So take heart, Nat. I've seen much worse than this! LOL

YAY for their being a sale. Like someone else says, it would have been better had your eyes been open and that's when the camera took pictures of you. My husband is such a prickler he would have had you cross the line again to get the right shot! emoticon But that it the marathon photographs to get in as many pictures as possible b/c they get paid per picture.

More Cookies to Finish Out the Year

Monday, December 31, 2012

We are getting together with my husband's family tomorrow to exchange Christmas gifts. I baked some oatmeal cookies for my niece (left) and lemon pudding cookies with dried raspberries for my sister in law (left).

For our New Year's Eve celebration, I baked some gluten free cocoa molasses cookies (so I could share with my BFF and my brother's girlfriend)

My running has been going well. I got in 2.75 miles on the treadmill twinges :-)
I saw the PT today and he was happy to hear it. He was also impressed that I was reading this book, Anatomy for Runners (Thank you, Seabreeze63, for the recommendation)...I think he's going to get a copy for himself:

He gave me some more exercises to do but is happy with my progress.
My husband has been battling a cold and I woke up congested and was worried that I had finally succumbed but I felt better after coffee so I think I'm okay. If he's feeling good tomorrow, we will go out to the trail for a run...if not, I'll do it on the treadmill....I don't feel comfortable running by myself on the trail....too many iffy people around.
Have a safe New Year's Eve and a wonderful New Year!!

Gluten free chili brownies for my BFF.

I actually used half of those to make some with peanut butter frosting and added chocolate and peanut butter chips on top.....kind of like the salty peanut butter brownies I made a while back. These were for a friend at work.

King Arthur Flour St. Patrick's Day Cookies (aka pistachio pudding cookies) for another friend at work.

Chocolate and mint chip cookie bars for the model club Christmas party last night.
I'm actually going to be baking some Mexican brownies for work after I finish this blog...picture will be posted tomorrow.

Update on my calf/knee in case anybody is interested. I did see the PT guy on Monday. He wasn't so sure it was IT band but wasn't really sure what the problem was. He was unable to recreate the pain. He gave me some more hip/butt exercises to do and wanted my to try running about 1/2 mile to see if it triggered my issue. I tried that on Tuesday and there was no problem at 1/2 mile so I kept going until I got to 1.5 miles....still no problem. I emailed him and he said to continue the 1.5 mile runs on Thursday (done!!) and Sunday. I'll report back to him but so far so good...I may get to start building again :-)
