My husband and I went out on Sunday afternoon and picked up a cheapie exercise bike over at Sears. It didn't take very long to build and I even managed 7 miles in about 30 minutes. It definitely felt good to sweat, but it's no replacement for a run.
Monday my back was complaining for some reason so I decided not to do the Butt Bible. Still kind of cranky on Tuesday, so I rode the bike again...10.6 miles :-)
I talked to the podiatrist on Tuesday afternoon after a lot of email tag. I have been wearing my running shoes (Nike Air Pegasus) loosely tied since my foot started to bother me last Wednesday. The doctor told me I should be wearing a stiffer shoe and suggested I wear clogs. As it happens, I do own a pair of black ones. I've been wearing them today and I must say, my foot feels a lot better in them. They restrict the movement on push off so they should help the top of the foot tendonitis to heal. I wish I had known that last week and I would have started wearing them then.
I woke up with a migraine but ended up having to go in to work because I had to meet with one of our study subjects. Luckily it was an early morning meeting (7am) and I came home after that. I rested in bed for a bit and had another cup of coffee...it feels like it's gone now
Monday night for dinner, I made tinga de pollo. Yummy spicy chipotle chicken...it turned out really well.
If my back is happy tomorrow, I shall do some Butt Bible. If not, some biking.
I have decided that I will not run in the San Jose Rock and Roll Half Marathon on 10/2. Even if my foot healed today, I wouldn't have time to build up my endurance for that race. Next year.
