I forgot to reset my alarm to 2:30, so I didn't up until 3:30 this morning. No time to do CLX before work.
The guys came and removed the counter and cabinets that we needed to get rid of. The mass spec (all 7 boxes of stuff) arrived at the VA just before I left for the day. I only got one of the boxes but they promised the rest on Monday or Tuesday. It's just as well. The new table has not arrived (due 7/12) and we still don't have a 208v outlet installed.
I came home and did my CLX

I don't know what I did but now my lower back is a little sore I did take an ibuprofen and I am going to ice it in a few minutes. I hope it's okay for my run on Sunday.
We went out for Ethiopian food for dinner. We got the meat and veggie samplers. They put it all on one plate: chicken, beef, yellow split peas, collard greens, potatoes & carrots, red lentils and the bread (injera). Very tasty. Yes, it was a large plate but it was split between the two of us and my husband ate about twice as much as I did.
I'm off to ice. Have a great night and a wonderful weekend!!
I really, really, really did not want to get up this morning. The alarm went off a 2:30 and I got up and reset it to 3:30. But I was awake so I got up. Our clock has 2 alarms. I set mine to music and keep the volume low so it doesn't wake up my husband. His is set for 7am but it's the buzzer.
I got 3 miles in on the trusty treadmill and it felt good. I wore my neutral shoes (Nike Air Pegasus) and my shins and calves felt great. My calves are really tight, though. Running? Rockband drums? Strength training? My stability shoes? I rolled them this evening.
Lots of good things happened at work. I got the liquid nitrogen cylinder, a gas nitrogen tank and a regulator ordered for arrival next week when the mass spec should arrive. They installed tank restraints so nothing goes rolling around the lab. The carpenters came to look at the cabinets we need removed and said they would be able to do it tomorrow when they had their equipment with them. Now we just need a 208v outlet installed and we are golden :-)
For some reason I was craving eggs and happened to have some hard boiled ones in the fridge. I made egg salad: 1 whole egg and 3 whites with 1 tbsp Kraft olive oil mayo on an Ezekial english muffin. I'm not big on mayo but you do need something to bind it all together. Also had some raspberries and blackberries...yum! Sorry, I forgot to get a pic.
I am definitely looking forward to Friday and the weekend.
Have a good one!
Tuesday was a very busy day. I got up dutifully and ran 3.1 miles. Lots of stuff going on at work. Then it was off to have dinner with my best friend. We ended up having Thai. Yummy...but evil!!
After dinner we went to the mall for some coffee, looked at shoes at Nordstrom and hung out in Sephora for a while. A very nice evening. The only problem being that I didn't get to bed until almost 11pm.
I most definitely did not get up this morning to do my CLX. I did that between work and the chiropractor.

My shoulders are going to be sore tomorrow...guaranteed.
Dinner tonight was salmon, green beans and some Kettle Tias! salsa flavor with Trader Joe's fat free bean dip. Super tasty and relatively healthy.
Going to head to bed soon so I can run in the morning. It's been in the 90's and the treadmill is upstairs. Even with the A/C on it's warm.
Have a good night.
Since I had plenty of time to exercise this morning, I did 30 minutes on the elliptical before getting my CLX workout.

Then it was time to start baking some cookies for our holiday treat. I made Pistachio chocolate chip cookies. I posted the recipe in Spark. It's basically the standard toll house cookie recipe with the addition of a package of pudding powder. You can add any flavor you like. I tried out pistachio pudding today. I also added some extra pistachio flavor instead of vanilla.
My brother came over and we made turkey burgers, grilled zucchini and Trader Joes' cuban black beans. I added a slice of pepper jack to mine. I'm glad we have the Griddler because it got pretty toasty outside....95 the last time I checked.
Afterward we played some Aerosmith Rockband. I'm the drummer so I worked up quite a sweat. Maybe I should have worn my heart rate monitor so I could put it in as exercise :-)
Oh well, back to work tomorrow. Luckily there are no inspections this week.
Have a great rest of the day. Happy 4th!!
Yesterday I got in some CLX Recharge (yoga) and some foam roller for my calves and shins. We went to lunch with my brother at Clarke's. They specialize in charbroiled hamburgers. I got a turkey burger but only ended up eating half. We split some fried zucchini and sweet potato fries...yum! Then we walked around downtown Mountain View for a while...got in a couple of miles. Then we headed over to Sears because I needed a new watch battery and I can't take the back off the watch...needs a special tool. It turns out that Sears is going out of business but we gave it a try anyway...SCORE. The watch repair was still there and now my watch is working again :-) I also picked up a bathing suit at 60% off. www.landsend.com/ix/index.html?store =le&action=newSearch&search=27696-8AK9
Since it was going to get into the 90's today we made sure to get ready early. Today was the day for our "long run." In quotes because it was only 2.5 miles. This time I mapped it out on Spark fitness maps and used RunKeeper and the Polar GPS (in the proper orientation). The map said 3 miles (I wanted warm up and cool down in there, too). RunKeeper came in at 3.1 and the Polar gave me 3.17 miles. I think the Polar just needed to be in the correct orientation...it's definitely close enough. This time we went right instead of left and ran by the golf course instead of the homeless encampment. We couldn't have gone too much farther than we did because it was only 1.71 miles (by SparkMap) from where we started until the trail ends in that direction. I tried out my Nike LunarEclipse+. They felt very good. My knees were a little sore starting out but they had been this morning anyway. It went away and has pretty much stayed away all day....damn arthritis.
My husband wanted Indian Buffet for lunch...yikes!!!
Tandoori chicken, channa masala, palak paneer, cucumber slices, mixed vegetable curry with basamati rice. No naan for me.
A very light dinner is planned for tonight ;-)
Have a good one!
