Monday!!! And I Didn't See Any Inspectors :-)

Let me backtrack a little. Yesterday afternoon we decided to walk over to our favorite local Vietnamese restaurant for lunch/dinner.

I got BBQ pork with broken favorite. So tasty emoticon
This morning I began week 2 of CLX Push.
Push Circuit 1
Standard Bicep Curl - W 12.5 R 7
Standard Squat - W 25 R 8 (barely)
Single-Arm Bent-Over Tricep Extension - W 12.5 R 6
V-Press Biceps - W 10 R 6
Single-Leg Squat - W 22.5 R 6
Overhead Tricep Extension - W 20 R 6
Hammer Biceps - W 12.5 R 6
Heel Squat - W 22.5 R 8 (barely)
Push-ups - 7 on toes and 1 on knees
There is another inspection at work this week but they did not come into the lab today. I do still have to get through Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Since I leave at 2pm, I may just miss them.
When I got home this afternoon, I had a bit of baking to do. I made some Banana Chocolate Chip Vitamuffins form my husband's breakfasts:

Then I baked some Espresso Chocolate Chunk cookies for him to take to his friend's house tomorrow night for the model car guys meeting:

For dinner tonight he had chicken sausages and I had a Smartdog. I put some mustard, relish and pico de gallo on it. A very tasty combination. I also had a few Kettle Tias salsa flavor tortilla chips (not pictured):

All in all, a very good Monday.

Sumo Squat - W 20 R 8 (will try 22.5 pounds next time)
Single-Arm Row - W 20 R 8 (will try 22.5 pounds next time)
Chest Fly - W 12.5 R 7
Bowler Lunge - W 22.5 R 8 (barely)
Double-Arm Bent-Over Row - W 17.5 R 8 (will try 20 pounds next time)
Bench Press - W 12.5 R 8 (will try 15 pounds next time)
Single-Leg Sumo Squat - W 17.5 R 8 (will try 20 pounds next time)
Reverse-Grip Bent-Over Row - W 17.5 R 8 (will try 20 pounds next time)
Long-Arm Pullover - W 15 R 6
Boy, my chest and inner thighs were pretty sore on Saturday.
It was a busy day at work and I was quite glad when the day was over.
We went out for dinner at our local Mexican-owned Chinese Restaurant.

Snow peas with water chestnuts, Chinese broccoli with BBQ pork, tofu with mushrooms and beef fried rice. Very tasty :-)
Saturday we took my husband's Grandma out to lunch. I didn't get a picture but I had a falafel plate...I'm sure you're not surprised.
Then we cleaned up around the house and I changed the sheets and towels in the guest bedroom and bathroom. My oldest nephew came to spend the night. He is working at UC Davis over the summer and went to a concert near us so we invited him to stay.
My brother came over and we all had brunch before my nephew headed back to Davis. It was nice to see's been a while.
My husband and I did our long run. It was supposed to be 5 miles but we ended up going 6.1 (according to the Sparkpeople run was 7.76 according to my Polar GPS...I think it has a problem). Either way, we definitely covered more distance than we should have. Next week we're supposed to do a 2.5 mile run...I think we'll use the track.

    Mexican Chinese!? that is funny. My Mom and i were just talking about that yesterday how many weird ethnic restaurant combos there are. one of our old favorite places back in Seattle was a Philly Cheese Steak place that was owned and all food cooked by a man from Vietnam!

    Wow! Congrats Nat! Sounds like a very nice time! Isn't it amazing when you run more than you expect? I hope you two had a good time together doing it! I love running with my DH - he is inspiration and a delight to run with... I didn't know you had the chance to run with him though.     Great job on the run! I can imagine it gets more difficult to map a run beforehand once you head off the track. My BFF gave me a book with local running routes, which has helped a bit, especially in the variety department. DH has been running with his Garmin and the Nike+ and reports that both agree completely on distance. I tend not to trust mapping programs all that much. emoticon

    The Chinese looks pretty good! There's a Chinese restaurant in town that's also owned by a Mexican family, but it's not very good.
Too much corn starch in their sauces.

    Yes you have! I ran 7.3 late yesterday but the sweat/friction of my running shorts left a nasty chafe on my left leg. I bought body glide for ladies @ the Sports Authority & the chlorine in the pool stung like heck. Keep up the great work!!

    BUSY is right! Was that long run today or yesterday? Are you sore? 6.1 is a lot when you haven't done anything like it. The GPS inaccuracy is why I got the Garmin FR60 - no GPS - and so far, incredibly accurate. It was exact with the 5K I ran last week. I have also found the SparkPeople map tracker to be quite accurate. Rest up tonight for the upcoming week.

I got up and my head felt pretty good. Not quite 100% but good enough to run. I tried out the Superfeet insoles. I think they help. My right shin had been a little sore before but felt good today. My knees felt pretty good. The left one is a little irksome but it's the one that seems most affected by my arthritis. I will try wearing my Cho-pat knee strap for my long run and see if it helps.
Very busy day at work. Samples to run. Things to order. Meetings to go to. I did need a couple of extra cups of coffee for the headache. Boo!
I baked some molasses cookies for a friend's birthday:

Trying to figure out what to have for dinner since my husband will be going out. Probably an Amy's frozen dinner...perhaps something Indian.
Have a great night.
Tomorrow is Friday....I certainly am looking forward to it.

    Glad the head is better. Here's to 110% tomorrow! Cookies look great. My molasses cookie recipe is probably the least healthy thing anyone could ever eat, but they are DELISH! Old time country recipe uses bacon drippings for the shortening. And yup, there's a bag of them in the freezer.

    I can't wait for tomorrow - this has been the LONGEST week ever! I'm glad your head felt better today! Those cookies look yummy but nothing will ever compare to the PBCCs! Any chance you could send me the recipe? I took some into work this morning so I could let Donna taste them (the one who posted on FB about meat ;)) and then I remembered she was off today. Migraine Wednesday

I got up this morning with a slight migraine and figured I might as well do my workout.
Push Circuit 2
Standard Overhead Press - W 12.5 R 6
Single-Leg Lunge - W 22.5 R 7
Standing Reverse Fly - W 10 R 7
Standing Arnold Press - W 12.5 R 6
Single-Leg Dead Lifts - W 15 R 7
Bent-Over Lat Raise - W 10 R 8 (will try 12.5 pounds next time)
Frontal Shoulder Press - W 10 R 8 (barely)
Single-Leg Tap Lunges - W 15 R 8 (will try 17.5 pounds next time)
Later Delt Raise - W 10 R 8 (will try 12.5 pounds next time)
By the time I was finished I felt really horrible so I called in (emailed in, actually) sick. Went back to bed for a few more hours and felt a lot better. It's been on and off all day. Boy do I hate migraines.
I did get some laundry done and I went to the chiropractor.
We had a Trader Joe's night for dinner:
jalapeno chicken sausages and Cuban black beans sauteed with bell pepper and onion over some whole wheat couscous. Some cucumbers on the side. Very tasty.

I'm going to head to bed soon. Hope the migraine is totally gone in the morning. I've got a run planned and a busy day at work.

Why Is It So Hard To Wake Up On Tuesday?

No, I didn't run this morning. Soooooo tired.
Busy day at work, but no complaints. I'd rather be doing something.
I fired up the treadmill this afternoon and got in 3.1 miles. My knees have been a little sore on and off all day. I don't know what they're problem is. They were the same while running. Seems like arthritis. Maybe they don't like the heat. I forgot to try my Superfeet insoles today. I'll have try them on Thursday's run. My arches are feeling much better so whatever the problem was, it may be resolved.
For dinner we had chicken kabobs and bell pepper/onion kabobs with some hummus (not pictured) and since I didn't have any pita, I used a Ozery One Bun for hot dogs. Very tasty.

Tomorrow I will get up in the morning for my CLX workout because I have a chiropractor appointment in the afternoon. Now since you will hold me to it, I will definitely do it.
Better get to bed soon.

    I'm sorry to hear about your knees - how are they feeling today?? Mine are always a little jarred after a run, but I'm working on improving my running form and I've noticed that its getting a lot better! Dinner looks fabulous and I can't wait to hear all about your CLX workout today!!

Did you kabob those on an actual grill or in the oven, they look real good.

    dinner looks yummy! i copied your meal from yesterday and made the goulash for dinner. perfect day for it because it started storming. goulash is a comfort food to me. i put a pinch of cinnamon in mine along with some chili powder. those suggestions werent in Grit, i made them up. actually, the cinnamon started as an accident. thought i was grabbing the chili powder and really WASN'T paying attention! it was so yummy, i've been adding it ever since.

Have A Fun Wednesday! Hope the doc can make all of your parts feel better. the chiro can fix your knees too!

    Tuesdays are hard because you don't expect them. Everyone talks about Mondays like they're the big thing, but by now you take for granted the pain of Monday and are only focused on surviving Monday. Then Tuesday comes around and you're like "BUT SERIOUSLY? THIS THING?"

Now Wednesday, that's when the groove kicks in.
