Tired Monday

Monday, October 18, 2010

I didn't get much sleep last night so it was really hard to get up at 3am to workout, but I did. I did my day 18 Bootcamp, 23 standard pushups + 2 girlie, 25 jumping jacks, 25 crunches and 30 minutes on the incline trainer.
I hope to head to bed earlyish tonight because I've got to get up at 3am and exercise tomorrow, too. I'm meeting a friend for dinner (Thai) and won't be able to do it in the afternoon. Tomorrow is my 2nd day of week 5 C25K. We'll see how that goes. I may have to slow down a little.
I'm making turkey burgers on whole wheat buns and spinach for dinner. I'm baking some banana nut muffins for my husband to take to work for breakfast.

Started C25K week 5 and baked reduced fat pineapple upside-down cake (yes, there is a picture)

Sunday, October 17, 2010

Week 5 started well, some good tunes on the iphone (c25k app) made the running very enjoyable and the time fly by. Did my upper body bootcamp as well as the pushups (up to 20 standard today), jumping jacks and crunches.
We took my husband's grandmother out to lunch at Olive Garden. A long wait because it was Sunday afternoon. The apricot chicken was tasty and I brought half home for lunch tomorrow.
I was testing a reduced fat pineapple upside-down cake recipe for a magazine. It turned out very nicely.
This is it:

The cake looks yummy! Congrats on the c25k progress! I graduated from c25k this weekend and just posted a blog about it. For me, the final run of week 5 was the BIG one. Everything after that seemed easy once I got over the mental block of running for 20 minutes straight. Good luck!

Ah, you're going to be ahead of me for C25K now! I decided to re-do Week 4 after my vacation, because I ended up missing a day last week. I did Week 4/Day 1 again today, and it was really easy, so I guess I could have moved on, but I'm still a new runner, and would rather be safe than sorry!

It's not published yet, so I can't post it. It should be out in the next few months and I'll try to remember to put it up then.

Lebkuchen

Saturday, October 16, 2010

So this is what they look like baked. They're pretty tasty, too. Hopefully the model building guys like them.
I finished day 15 of bootcamp, did 30 jumping jacks (because I have a hard time stopping at 25), 25 crunches, 18 standard + 7 girlie pushups. I tried later and could still only do 18 standard. I'm hoping in a couple of days I can up that to 20.
Bootcamp was lower body and my legs were sore from yesterday's kickboxing. I did it anyway, but it was hard today.
They guys should be arriving soon. It should be a fun evening.

Mmmm those look delicious! I talked to my mom this afternoon and yes! that is the same stuff she makes (though hers don't ever come out looking that good, but shhhh!) :)

Good job on bootcamp! I'm getting ready to do mine in a few minutes. I've pretty much been a lazy sludge today so I'll have to make up for it tonight!

3rd week of bootcamp

Friday, October 15, 2010

I started the 3rd week of the bootcamp. Cardio. Added 40 minutes of a kickboxing dvd (violet zaki --weight loss cardio kick). Maybe I should be jumping so much because I started to feel it in my lower back.
This morning I did 15 standard + 10 girlie pushups right after breakfast. I tried again about an hour later and then I did 18 standard + 7 girlie. Must have been all the blood in my stomach instead of my muscles. Also did my 25 jumping jacks and 25 crunches. I better get some buff arms and a six pack out of this.
Tonight we're off to the Silicon Valley Scale Modelers (SVSM) Meeting. Sometimes it's fun to see the models and hear about them (but sometimes people are boring). I'll bring a book just in case.
I'm glad it's Friday. Maybe it's because there was a holiday on Monday (for some people) but it felt like a really long week. Whew!

Good job. I will be happy when I can do that many push ups at once. The most I can do is 10 at a time and I have to break about 1 min in between those sessions.

Enjoy your weekend! emoticon

Week 4 C25K Done and I made some cookie dough

Thursday, October 14, 2010

Today I did the 3rd run of the 4th week of the C25K. Felt great!!
The 28 day challenge workout today was abs. They're a little sore right now but that's a good thing. I also did my JM Sparkers 25 pushups (15 standard and 10 girlie) and 25 jumping jacks. Starting tomorrow, I'll be adding 25 crunches per our leader.
I stirred together some lebkuchen dough and it will sit in the fridge until Saturday morning when I'll bake them.
This is what it looks like now:

I'll post a picture of the finished product on Saturday.

Sounds like you had a great day. Unearthing muscles you didn't know you had is a very good thing.
