Week 4 C25K Done and I made some cookie dough

Thursday, October 14, 2010

Today I did the 3rd run of the 4th week of the C25K. Felt great!!
The 28 day challenge workout today was abs. They're a little sore right now but that's a good thing. I also did my JM Sparkers 25 pushups (15 standard and 10 girlie) and 25 jumping jacks. Starting tomorrow, I'll be adding 25 crunches per our leader.
I stirred together some lebkuchen dough and it will sit in the fridge until Saturday morning when I'll bake them.
This is what it looks like now:

I'll post a picture of the finished product on Saturday.

Sounds like you had a great day. Unearthing muscles you didn't know you had is a very good thing.

It was a busy day at work. I spent a lot of time this morning prepping samples and will spend the rest of the week looking at the data.
When I got home, I did my bootcamp day 13 (upper body) and then hiked on the incline trainer for an hour.
I made a chicken, garbanzo bean and vegetable stew for dinner (along with some brown basmati rice). It turned pretty tasty. As a matter of fact, my husband said we needed to have it again sometime soon and will happily take the leftovers for lunch.
A good food day and a good workout day. I can't really ask for more.

C25K Week 4 Day 2 and Some Tasty Cookies

Tuesday, October 12, 2010

I came home and did my C25K. It seemed easier than day 1 of the week even though it is the same and even though it was quite hot in the house. I also did my 28 day challenge day 12 (lower body). That was tough because I did it after the running so my legs really felt that workout. I also fulfilled my daily Jillian Michaels Sparkers challenge of 25 pushups (10 standard and 15 girlie) and 25 jumping jacks. Quite the regime going.
We had some tasty salmon burgers with vegetables for dinner so I didn't feel too bad sampling some of the Oatmeal Jumbo cookies I made them smaller so they aren't really jumbo but they do have peanut butter, walnuts and candy coated chocolate pieces.
This is what they look like:

    Mmmmm those cookies look YUMMY!

My new favorite snack is sliced green apples with non-fat greek yogurt that has caramel in it. I dip the apple slices in the yogurt and it's scrumptious! Not as scrumptious as those cookies though, I bet!

Hope you're having a great day!

Since I'm not a government employee, I had to work. Since I work at the VA hospital, it was pretty empty. That's okay.
I did my Bootcamp day 11 (core) and then went for a 2 mile walk with Leslie Sansone. I felt like some less intense exercise after yesterday's run/walk. That way I'll be ready for more of it tomorrow.

Hey girl :) You're almost halfway done with bootcamp! Rock on! I have Leslie's WATP audiobook. I'll have to try that out on one of my non-run days- thanks for making me think about that :)

Baked Coconut Doughnuts---Now with picture

Sunday, October 10, 2010

This morning I started C25K week 4. The first few minutes of running seemed hard but the rest of the intervals were much easier. I guess I need to warm up a little more before running.
I did the 28 day challenge day 10 which was upper body. I also did 25 pushups for the JM team challenge. I guess I'll have to do 25 jumping jacks later today as that was just added to the challenge.
This morning I will be baking some coconut doughnuts. My husband loves coconut (and I like it a lot, too) and it's a King Arthur Flour recipe so it should be good.
I'l post a picture after they're done.

I guess I could use a little help in the glazing department. They were tasty. Especially with bacon. Maybe not my best food day but I'll make up for later today and the rest of the week.

Not that I can really make these for myself, ever, but as a foodie, I'd have fun just knowing how you did this. How do you bake a donut?
