I was good and used only 3 pounds weights for my first attempt at NMTZ in a while. I did use 5 pounds for the plank rows because the 3 pounds weights are so small that they crush my hands into the floor. The verdict, I could have used 5 pound weights because most of the exercises didn't really seem hard but I wanted to make sure my back would be okay with the workout. It was definitely a little sore a few hours later, but I think that was because of the supermans and deadlifts. I'm actually feeling it in my shoulders now. My legs are pretty sore both from running yesterday, the QFC from yesterday of lateral lunges and today's workout. It feels good to be sore from exercise again.
I finally did my statistics at work!!! YAY!!! Boy am I glad that's over with at least for now. There will always be data that needs to be checked.
I had a dentist appointment this afternoon. Just a cleaning but I still dread going. I actually have a new dentist now. My former one is retiring so he introduced me to his replacement. Also very nice. I think we'll get along fine. The good news....no cavities!! YAY!!!
I tried out Chef Meg's Slow Cooker Marinara Chicken and Vegetables for dinner tonight. Pretty tasty. It needed a little heat, though. We tried both red pepper flakes and Siracha. Not sure which we preferred.

And here's what it looks like in a bowl with whole wheat spaghetti:
I got up this morning and the back was feeling pretty good so I turned on the treadmill and did C25K W4D1. I did add an extra minute to each of the 5 minute running intervals. When I was done, I walked until I hit 3 miles total. My back felt good. :-) It has continued to feel pretty good the rest of the day. It feels a little crackly sometimes if I sit too long but then moving around it's fine. My knees have been a little sore the past few days. Maybe from the weather.
I finished getting my Excel spreadsheet ready to do my statistics tomorrow. Boy, that thing took 2 whole days. Yikes!!
After work, I came home and baked some Superdoodle cookies. They are snickerdoodles with cinnamon chips in them for extra cinnamon-y goodness :-)
Since this appears to be the day to have salmon for dinner, that's what we had. White King Salmon (much milder than regular), Alexia rosemary and garlic oven fries, and green beans.
I think I prefer the regular salmon because I like the salmon flavor. It was good though.
Have a great night all. I should head to be soon because I've got a date with Jillian in the morning (NMTZ). I'll see how lifting 3 pound weights goes.
I didn't sleep very well last night. Too much regular coffee at Mexico Lindo last night made for too many bathroom trips in the middle of the night. Having to climb out of the top of the bed because I was trapped in the sheets with a cat on one side and a husband on the other certainly didn't help any.
I did do some elliptical (5 miles) this morning because I knew I was going to be eating my huevos con papas leftovers for breakfast. Yummy!!
I baked some low carb peanut butter chocolate chip muffins for my husband.
We decided to go out for Thai food for lunch. Chicken pad kee mao, garlic chicken, mixed veggies and steamed rice. Very tasty. Another reason I'm glad I hit the elliptical this morning ;-)
I finished watching all of the TurboFire regular and advanced workout discs (14 in all). I need to get 5 replaced for sure. I have contacted BeachBody. We shall see what they want me to do. I don't know if they want the bad ones back or not.
It's been a nice day here. A little cool in the shade but it's bright and sunny. Definitely a nice way to end the weekend.
Have a great week all!
I got up and did a little Sparking and then hit the elliptical for 5 miles...felt fabulous. I even did my QuickFire Challenge jumping jacks today. I didn't feel it in my back at all. It is still a little sore sometimes but I think I'll be ready to try running on Monday.
Had a little oatmeal for breakfast and did some cleaning around the house. Then we went to Whole Foods and got the groceries. We also picked up some lunch stuff in their hot food section which we had not tried. Roasted chicken, sausages and peppers, brown rice and broccoli with garlic. It was all very tasty and fairly healthy. I only had a little taste of the sausage and took the skin off my chicken breast.
Did some laundry and watched quite a few of the TurboFire discs. I'm almost done. So far 6 of them need to be replaced. Yikes!! I'm glad I'm checking them now.
We met up with my niece and her boyfriend for dinner at Mexico Lindo and I brought the cookies along. I had the super tasty but super decadent juevos con papas...at least half I brought home, though. Alex was very happy with his cookies.
I guess I'll go and check the last of the discs.
Have a great night and rest of the weekend!
So, no April Fool's Day jokes from me.
I was a good girl and did some elliptical this morning. That was a good thing. I needed the endorphins to deal with my statistics at work. Still not done. Whew!
I had a very nice lunch with my BFF. We went to Maggiano's and split the chicken piccata with gluten free pasta. They went light on both of the sauces for us so it probably wasn't too bad and it was the lunch size portion. Getting there wasn't so nice. Crazy people on the freeway. A rock hit my windshield and now there is a divot. No parking at the mall where the restaurant is so I had a little hike. Normally I wouldn't mind but I was starving.
After lunch we walked over to a different mall and I got my eyebrows threaded. Then we were going to get coffee but got a little sidetracked in Sephora. She had her makeup done with Tarte products to see if she likes them. By the time we were finished, it was time to go home. Nobody actually bought anything at Sephora...that's pretty rare.
For dinner, my husband and I went to Straw Hat Pizza. I haven't been to one in probably 30 years. It just opened up near us so we thought we'd give it a try. We ordered the combo on whole wheat crust and some deep fried green beans. The pizza cook came out and said they don't have any whole wheat crust and would we mind getting the regular. We said okay. They brought us some garlic breadsticks for free. Lots of food. I had two small pieces of pizza, tasted a little of the breadsticks and had a few of the green beans. The only problem with the breadsticks and the green beans is that they both had parmesan on them. Not one of my favorite things. Still okay, though.
So yes, good idea I got some walking and elliptical in. Still didn't top out the calories but definitely on the high end. That's fine.
Have a great Friday night!! Happy Weekend!!
