For some reason I was really tired last night. I slept in until about 5 this morning. If it had been a work day, I would have had the alarm set to get me up at 3:30 but since it was a holiday for me I could just sleep. I felt great when I got up. Fed the cat, got my water and started week 2 of C25K. The knees were a little sore when I got up (as usual) but were fine when I was running and haven't bothered me (yet) for the rest of the day. I was even able to do my quickfire challenge of jumping jacks with no ill effects.
The Safeway delivery guy showed up at about 10:30. I like when the come closer to the beginning of the delivery window. They didn't have the hamburger buns I ordered so I had to go to Target in the afternoon and pick them up.
I did two loads of laundry and caught up on 3 weeks of missed CSI's.
I just put some Alexia sweet potato fries in the oven for dinner tonight. We're having turkey burgers, green beans and the sweet potato fries. Should be tasty.
Have a great night all!!
My friend LENKEES had some muscle spasms in her back yesterday and was told she should not do any strength training until they subsided. She is grounded for another week and I decided I would wait to start when she could. Instead I did an hour on the elliptical to burn off a little of the cupcakes and falafel from yesterday ;-).
After breakfast we went to PetSmart and bought a new scratching post because the one we had was pretty much shredded. My husband also need to pick up a couple of things at the office supply store. We thought about going to the grocery store but wanted to have lunch first. After much indecision we finally decided to go to El Rancho Steakhouse. He got a burger and I got the chile verde burrito. He'll be having the other half for lunch tomorrow. We decided not to go to the grocery store so when we got home, I ordered the groceries online for delivery....thank you Safeway. Tomorrow between 10 and noon, I'll have my groceries (hopefully without any substitutions).
I'm not sure yet what we'll do for dinner. I may have half a cupcake. That kind of depends on what dinner is.
Anyway, have a great Sunday night. For those of you who have tomorrow off, have a great extra weekend day!!
My knees were feeling pretty damn good this morning. I fired up the treadmill and started the last day of week 1 of C25K. I varied the incline between 0, 0.5 and 1%, ran at 5.6mph and walked at 3.5mph. My brother called about halfway through so I had to start walking. Since I had to go out of the app to answer the phone, I had to restart it. I figured I might as well just start over again...skipping the warmup because I was already warmed up. So I did it 1.5 times. Not too bad.
My brother showed up just after I got out of the shower. We all had an appointment with the tax lady this morning. We went out for breakfast first. I had a tasty egg white scramble with asparagus, spinach, mushrooms and chicken apple sausage.
After our appointment we stopped off at BestBuy to get a Playstation Eye controller so that we would have two of them. That way we could have two people playing the games. I also ended up getting Red on Blu-Ray, so when we got back to our house we watched it. Fun movie.
Then we were hungry for lunch and since I wanted falafel for my birthday, we went to House of Falafel.
Here is some falafel:
After lunch we came back to the house and I made the peanut butter frosting for the cupcakes (I used PB2 to make them slightly healthier)
Super tasty. Good thing I got in a little running this morning.
I think I'll give the new Zumba Fitness Playstation 3 game a try with the new controller.
All in all a good 45th birthday.
Have a great night!!!
If you saw my status this morning, I was trying to decide between doing Bob Harper Pure Burn Super Strength and Jari Love Ripped to the Core. I decided on Jari because I hadn't done it in ages. Great workout. Then I thought I'd like to burn a few calories so I hopped on the elliptical and did 4 miles.
I think I twisted my wrist a little funny doing some tricep push ups, though. Oh well. It should be fine by Sunday to start ChaLEAN Extreme.
I baked the cupcakes this morning. I used the King Arthur Flour Bake Sale Fudge Cupcakes recipe but I cut it in half because I don't need 2 dozen of them. I'm not having a bake sale.
Here they are naked:
You won't see them frosted until tomorrow because I won't be frosting them until tomorrow.
I also boxed up the cookies we're giving to our friend, John.
Also a King Arthur Flour recipe. Can you tell I like their recipes?
Now I've got to calculate the nutrition information on the cupcakes and do a little swiffervac because my brother is coming over tomorrow. We're heading to the model club meeting tonight (where we will see John and deliver his cookies).
Have a good night all. It's Friday!!!!
I didn't get much sleep last night and was hungry and craving carbs all day. I did end up eating some peanut M&M's but not so many that they qualified as a meal. At home I had some Trader Joes' version of funyuns...yummy.
I did to C25K W1D2 today. My knees were sore before I started. It continued into the warm up and they were a little sore on and off while running. Not even for the whole minute. I don't think the running is causing them to be sore.
I do wish they would just stop being sore. It's getting really annoying. Sometimes they're perfectly fine and sometimes not. It doesn't correspond to anything I'm doing. Weird.
I baked some cookies this evening for a friend's birthday. I will post a picture tomorrow when I box them up.
I'm very glad I have tomorrow off. I can get in my weight training and do some elliptical...burn off those TJ's funyuns and my dinner of leftover huevos con papas. Hopefully I'll get plenty of sleep tonight.
I will be baking cupcakes tomorrow and there will be a picture of them as well. They won't be frosted yet. I will wait until Saturday to do that.
Have a great night. If you're knees are not bothering you, be thankful!
