Fabulous Friday!!

Friday, November 05, 2010

I woke up feeling much better than I had last night and did some weight training (Jari Love Ripped Slim & Lean). I have a feeling I'm going to be feeling it all over tomorrow. Just the kind of workout I like.
Over breakfast at work I read everybody's kind responses to my venting yesterday. Thank you everyone!!
Lots of work but nothing aggravating. After work I went to get a haircut. It's nice to just sit in the chair and relax while somebody pampers you. And you come out looking much better than when you went it.
Traffic on the way home didn't bother me today. I guess I should get haircuts more often.
Now we just have to figure out where to go for dinner. Not sure what I'm craving.
Tomorrow I'll try out my new running shoes (just walking though...saving the running for Sunday) and do some yoga.
It should be a good weekend. And it's an hour longer so that makes it even better.
Have a great one all!!

The day started great but turned out crappy!

Thursday, November 04, 2010

I got up and finished week 7 C25K. Well, I actually ran 28 minutes and would have run longer but I needed to stop and take a shower so I could get to work on time. I guess I started week 8.
Busy day at work but it was okay.
This afternoon we had to go to the title company to sign documents because we're refinancing our house. Since that was at 4:30 we decided to have dinner afterward. We went over to The Counter and I had half of a turkey burger on an English muffin. We also had some dill pickle chips (yes, they're deep fried) and sweet potato fries but I only had a couple of each. I was totally in calorie range for the day.
I had picked up my husband at work so I had to drive him back. There was a big back up on the freeway going the other direction (toward home). I decided to take surface streets and it took nearly an hour to go 10 miles.
I was in a bad mood when I got home. Writing it down has made me calm down.
Thanks for letting me vent.

ACK! Glad venting got it out of your system! I think if I would have gotten stuck in traffic last night I would have turned into Michael Douglas from Falling Down... I'd have snapped like a twig. (joke of course, hehe)

Just be glad it was JUST an extra hour out of your day, at least YOU were not the reason for the backup on the freeway . . . that person really had the crappy day!

Have a better tomorrow!

Venting is therapeutic and we are cheaper than a therapist....so vent away my friend. I loathe waiting in traffic and it sends my 'impatient meter' off the charts to sit there or go inch by slow, excruciating inch....so I feel ya !!!

Sorry you guys got stuck in traffic. I know that feeling, there was one time my boyfriend and I were stuck in traffic for about an hour and it was the summer time, SUPER hot, and his AC wasnt working.. I was ready to kilL! lol

Glad you felt a little better after venting, now just relax and forget about that yucky backed up traffic!

Wednesday will be a busy day

Wednesday, November 03, 2010

Well, I binged on some of those leftover Halloween candy cookies last night. I had 3...maybe that's not really a binge but I did feel bad about it because it put me over my calorie limit by 35 calories. I did run yesterday so maybe it's not too bad in hindsight.
I did Jari Love's Get Ripped DVD this morning for the first time. It is straight weight lifting and my heart rate never got above 101. In the 55 minutes I burned a total of 85 calories....not many at all. I did fatigue my muscles, though so that should create some afterburn to rebuild muscle. It was a nice change of pace. I will be checking out the rest of her DVDs just to see what they're all like (since I've got a big stack of them just waiting to try).
When I get home from work, I've got more cookies to bake. I mixed up the dough and it's sitting in the fridge waiting for me. I should get through it much faster today. This particular recipe has you refrigerate the dough for at least 1 hour after mixing it before you bake so yesterday I mixed it up before dinner. Then my husband was kind of late so I was going to start baking but as soon as the oven came up to temperature, he got home. We had dinner and that took another hour away from baking. Anyway, it took waaaaaay too long yesterday so I'm hoping to just start baking when I get home today since I've got more dough waiting for me instead of me waiting for it.
I hope everybody has an excellent middle of the week. We're halfway to the weekend!!

I love cookies! My 2 year old daughter called me the cookie monster! Ha ha! I had some halloween candy this week too. I love chocolate. My goal is to keep that stuff out of the house 90% of the time and then treat myself and the family every once in a while. But baking is a fun project. Have a great week!

Thats it you need to start somehow baking cookies and have them come out of the computer on my end so I can have some! lol.

Have a great rest of the day!

Naughty naughty on binging on the candy. Going over your calories by 35 is not that big of a deal. Dont sweat it. More baking? You are ona roll with this baking! Im glad the week is almost over! Have a great day!

See, I told you those cookies were evil! Cookies are hard for me. For myself, when I do make them, I shape them, then freeze them, then just pull out one to bake when I really want one (yum, fresh warm cookies).

But it sounds like this is a business for you? I would never survive it, if that's the case!

Today was the only day I didn't have to go somewhere, so I've accomplished a fair amount (but not everything) and got to relax a bit. The next couple of days will be very busy.

Tuesday and more cookies

Tuesday, November 02, 2010

Hello all,
I got up and did my c25k running...25 minutes. I decided I should slow down even more and did it at 5.5 mph. If felt kind of slow so maybe Thursday I'll bring it up a little.
Getting everything ready for patient samples coming in tomorrow morning so today isn't too busy but tomorrow will be.
I'll be mixing up and baking a double batch of molasses ginger cookies for the Country Store at the VA on Thursday. Will post pictures later. I think the hardest part is bagging them up for sale. Lots of baggies to fill.
Have a good Tuesday everybody!
