Cookie Recipe Number 26: Pecan Spice Cookies and A Whole Lot More Baking Going On

Sunday, May 12, 2013

These Pecan Spice Cookies were excellent. Definitely a keeper.
I also baked:
Gluten Free Lemon Cake (shaped like a cookie) for my BFF's birthday party

The pans are from Williams Sonoma but are no longer available.
Gluten Free Coffee Cake....a test recipe for Cook's Illustrated

Chocolate Sundrop Cookies for a potluck last Friday

Gluten Free Chocolate Cake for my brother's birthday party last night.

Running....yeah...I've been running. I did 7 miles this morning....sort of a taper for the Bay to Breakers next weekend :-)
Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers.

Cooky Recipe Numer 25: Honey Peanut Butter Cookies and some healthy brownies

Saturday, April 27, 2013

I made the variation with honey. They came out nice and chewy. Definitely a keeper.

I got this recipe in an email from Jillian Michaels. They're not bad but you can tell they are healthy rather than decadent. I subbed canola oil for the olive oil.

Funny, I made avocado brownies today that I had high hopes or but they were just ok. But they've kept me really, really full . . . am hoping maybe some time for the flavors to meld will improve them.

And turns out I don't have to worry about the reeses pizza . . . they didn't have anything available til after 9 pm today & weren't open tomorrow night (even tho the coupon said they were).

Good because I found a place for pierogis on our ways RI next week . . . and they have dessert pierogis, too!

Bay To Breakers Tutu Trial

Thursday, April 11, 2013

I bought a tutu to wear for the Bay to Breakers this year and decided I should try it out sometime before the race. Good thing I did. I will NOT be wearing one. Not only is it unflattering, it also rubs my arms when I walk and run....I can see chafing would be an issue.

Cooky Recipe Number 24: Chocolate Crinkles

I baked these on Tuesday night to celebrate the end of Passover and for my husband to take to his model car meeting. Chewy and delicious...I'd definitely make them again.
Busy at work...which is good. I've been keeping up with my running and ST.
I got myself a medal hanger. Running Troops is my Facebook running group.

Gluten Free Chocolate Caramel Crack(ers)

Tuesday, March 26, 2013

We are going to a sedar tonight and my brother's girlfriend will be coming along. Since she is gluten free, I thought I would make a yummy dessert that she could eat.
I picked up some gluten free matzoh and figured I'd use it in this recipe. I doubt any of the other people at the sedar will even notice that it's not the regular stuff.
The recipe came from smittenkitchen.com
smittenkitchen.com/blog/2009/04/choc
olate-caramel-crackers/

In other news....I've been running....I did 7.15 miles last Sunday :-)
I've been balancing on the BOSU with one leg....both dome side-up and dome side-down. Boy....that's hard.
I went for a sports massage this afternoon....my calves and shins can prove I've been doing the balancing...OUCH!
Happy Passover :-)
