a kick butt routine

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

I have been walking to Leslie Sansone dvds for at least two months. I was getting so comfortable with them that I could easily put in a 10 mile a day. When that was getting easy I added ankle weights. Needless to say I kept challenging my self with her videos; mixing them up, add weight, do a few now and a few later etc.

For the first time I used her Walk your Way Thin "Walk it Off and Tone it Up" today. It is a 5 mile with strechies. I had on my ankle weights and hand weights because I have done other 5 miles of her and really didn't challenge myself. After the first mile with this new video I had to take off the hand weights. By the 2.5 mile I was ready to quit!! I was tired, my muscles in my thighs were straining. I kept going because it slowed down a bit using the stretching bands, two even. But then we picked it up again and by mile 4 once again I was ready to drop. Of course knowing I had one more mile to go I kept it up and finished the whole 5 miles. All I can say now is Wow! That was an awesome work out for me. I hope it stays that challenging. I think I will do it only once a week to make sure.

Long live the sun!

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

I love love love the sun. Sunshine gives me energy and motivation. One, when the weather is good than I am in less pain. Two, something about the sun just gets me moving. On sunny days I won't even gripe about doing some minor housework. (That is a huge chore for me.)

Because of my back issues, things that every day people take for granted such as just walking to the mail box is on some days very challenging for me. I am thankful I have a teenager who can help.

Let me get off the "oh so sorry for me" wagon now and say the sun has some majestic and magical powers that help drive me. Long live the sun!

I'm with you! It has been sleeting and windy for the past 4 or 5 days here, and today the sun is out! My mood is fantastic! Just knowing that it was going to be nice today, I was up and out walking the dogs @ 5:30, so I could be out to watch it come up!
Love it!!!

I hope it stays sunny for both your mental and physical well being!

Hate rainy days

Monday, March 15, 2010

When the weather is yucky like today, my back pain really acts up. I lose my motivation ususally. But since joining this site I feel more energized. I walked with Leslie an extra two miles today even though my pain scale is about a 7 today.
