Re-inventing Myself

Thursday, May 16, 2013

You are probably wondering what I mean by the title; "Re-inventing Myself"! The answer is simple, I am creating a new , healthier, and more goal oriented me. I have ate clean for 4 days straight and I no longer drink soda of any kind. I am doing two 5k races this year. July 4th I am doing the Freedom Run in my town and August 10th I am doing the Foam Fest in Portland. This year will be the year I discover my true self and I am not going to quit until Im fit! I have gave up on myself so many times it wasnt funy. No more of that! I looked that scale straight in the eye and told it that it is no longer a cinder block around my neck. I will no longer define myself by what I cant do. Instead I am going to redefine who I truly am. No one can make the change for you or for me. If you dont like where you are in life; Move! You are not a tree! I have lots of goals in life and my fear of rejection has kept me from achieving them. I will pursue my dreams with all I have. I deserve it and I am worth it! Love u guys!

Sometimes you Need to Redirect Your focus!

Friday, April 05, 2013

Just five days ago I started reading Chalene Johnson's book. The book is titles Push. It teaches you how to achieve and attain goals and not only weightloss goals either. She also talks about achieving personal wellness and financial goals to. This book is starting to change the way I make decision and the way I prioritize my day and life. I reccommend this book to any one who is struggling with weight loss success.

Temptation wont get me today!

Wednesday, March 20, 2013

As I stand here in my kitchen typing up this blog, one thing comes to mind.... Bread! I am one of those people who just loves bread. Bread smells good and taste good. Unfortunately most of the bread we get from the store is highly processed and has corn syrup and some traces of milk in them. I am allergic to milk and corn so I have to stay away from bread. Basically one trick to not give into your craving is to write how the craving makes you feel and why it is probably not good to indulge in the craving,. By the time you are done writing then the craving should pass. If that doesnt work grab something else like an apple. Eventually your cravings will stop. How do I know this works? Because I am doing this right now. If that still doesnt help call or text a friend for someone to talk to. Vent about your emotions and your clean eating struggles. You just might find that if you get out of your own way you can succeed. Now it is time to munch on an apple. emoticon

Push beyond Your Comfort Zone!

Tuesday, March 19, 2013

Sometimes life is hard and making health choices seems harder at these times. Chances are when you dont feel like working out those are the days when you need to push play the most. I have days like that often. But, I find that after I pushed play and completed the workout I am glad I did. Sometimes we need to step out of our comfort zone when it comes to eating as well. For example; you go to your fav restaurant with your friends and they always order the same thing. You start mulling around the idea to get a salad or the chicken breast and fresh veggies. Then starts the all to familiar encouragement to cheat. They usually only do this so they do not feel guilty for ordering the unhealthy food next time. I say that even though it is hard order the healthier option. If you start ordering healthy everytime they will too. Not only are you changing yourself but you are leading by example. Sometimes you should treat yourself, but treating yourself too often can be a slippery slope. Trust me , I know I have been on that slide one too many times. I hope you have a great day. Peace. emoticon

Sound advice. It is hard to make the healthier choice but in the long run it will help us reach our goals.
