Stressed

Saturday, November 17, 2012

AS PART OF THE Official Stress Busting Challenge I am blogging each week about things that are causing me stress. So begins Day 1. Today it is the house. It is so messy and disorganized that it IS causing me stress. I feel so overwhelmed I don't want to even begin to tackle it. :-(

Thanks for the encouragement . It has turned into almost a fear of phobia of some sort. I think to myself okay just get up and do it. But that stresses me out. Not sure why. I have even done the fifteen minutes in each room but that didn't seem to help. Because I didn't stick with it. Maybe I am not making it enough of a priority. But why the fear? grr

I know just how you feel. I took the advice of another blogger and did a 15 min tidy up in each room everyday. I am getting there. Goodluck.

Lunch today

Monday, June 07, 2010

Wow it's been a while since I posted a blog entry. It's also been awhile since I ate a salad. So today I decide to make one for lunch. It was pretty good especially since I added my fresh grown chives from my garden. It had some chicken, hard-boiled egg, carrots, pecorino romano, red onion, iceburg, my chives, and a little ranch.

I guess that's how things are going right now. Nothing special today. Just trying to make it through the day. Have a bad case of tendinitis or pinched nerve or something. Well that's all for now, stay tuned for more.... emoticon

November

Sunday, November 01, 2009

Well its November, a beginning to a new month. A time to sit back and assess the past month and see what changes to need to be made. A time to forgive yourself for past mistakes and move on. Time to get out into the crisp fall air and enjoy all of nature. A time to think about all your thankful for. I am going to try to get out onto the trails more this month. What are you going to change this month?

Loved reading your blog, very inspiring!

We are well into our summer, a perfect time to make changes in and around the house. Busy painting exterior walls and revamping the garden to be ready way before our holidays. This year I'm planning to take time to spend with loved ones not running around chasing my tail.

I love a new month any time of year and I especially love Fall and how symbolic and poetic it is for me with all the changing leaves and colors.

My change this month is to focus on consistency. I am very good at many of the things i need to do to reach my goals but only inconsistently so I feel like if I work on consistency I will be much further ahead.

My Ears!

Monday, October 19, 2009

I cannot for the life of me seem to get better. It started out, neighbor had the swine flu, then I got sick. Had fever blah blah blah. Started to feel better then into upper respiratory infection, sinuses, ears, the whole deal. When I started to feel better I went out last Wednesday, cause I like to do some volunteering when I can. Big Mistake! That night is when I woke up in the middle of the night with extreme ear pain. So at is point I can barely move my head. To top everything off I don't have health insurance. I'm not complaining, just saying I spend a couple hundred dollars each month out of pocket for medical expenses so I am not exactly rushing to a doctor. The money is just not there. So the fever is gone, and so are most of the aches and pains( I have some that will probably never go away, but that is neither here nor there). I'm breathing better, but my ears still hurt and quite frankly driving me nuts.

So I tried I have tried everything, homeopathic ear drops, antibiotics that are for ear/sinus infections, Tylenol, antihistamines, decongestants, and chicken soup. I am drinking - tea with raw honey, coffee, flavored water, and regular water. Heck I even had Flintstones vitamins.

Today I just started taking buffered vitamin C. As we speak I am sitting here with garlic cloves hanging out of my ears. How long I am supposed to leave them in there is beyond me; I have to do more research. Boy am I going to be delightful to be around. So if you see me with parsley hanging out of my ear you know why.

One of my spark friends (JADZEAMAY) said she remembered something about peppermint oil. I looked it up and sure enough I found out that you can use the essential oil peppermint. This is what it said: Peppermint- for waxy buildup, 2 drops peppermint oil. ½ tsp olive oil, warm oils, while sleeping insert as much oil as ear will hold, plug with cotton. And your NOT supposed to do this if your ear drum is perforated. So this is my next step if I wake up and don't feel some relief.

I would love to be able to hear, and do things like use a phone. And I would really like to stop falling into walls when I walk, that is a bit agitating. If anybody else has any suggestions, I am more than EARS. emoticon

P.S. I am also going to have to know had to get rid of this smell of garlic. Don't know if the parsley is going to work, I was just joking about that part.

Oh Wendy, it's been too long since I've checked in. Very sad news, frustrating news that you aren't feeling so great. Hope you get some relief with the peppermint. emoticon

Have lifted you uo in prayer and have you tried any decongestant medication such as AFRIN ir clears the sinuses and usually takes the pressure off the ears - you can only use it for a couple of days but it might help

LOL you do paint a funny picture! but being ill is the pits and you deserve a medal for being strong and trying alternative medicines.

Hope you find your cure soon! sure something is going to do the trick.

I sympathise and wish you better very soon. I always use warm olive oil for earache. The old remedies from our mothers are usually the best.
