Fall Challenge

Saturday, August 23, 2014

Today begins a new journey hopefully I am up for it. I have gained some of the weight back that I worked so hard to loose. So its time to get back on track. Looking forward to the different challenges and see if I can push myself a little harder. Food has always been an issue this time around hopefully I can portion control. As for exercise walking is one of my best choices I live near a park, but I need to incorporate strength training lazy on that part. I am hoping from this challenge what ever I learn to take with me for the rest of my journey.

New Slate

Tuesday, January 01, 2013

I woke up this morning decided to start new and fresh. I was not happy how I ended the year. I gained 11lbs within 2 months. I got relaxed into my old ways. I felt the difference, in my clothes and health. I realize sometimes you fall but in my case it takes me a while to get up. Today I need to get control of everything around me. I decided not to let the words I can't take over. It will be I can with strength, confidence and faith. I just needed the kick, Here I go on a new journey with a better outlook. emoticon

Appointment left me unsure about my weight

Wednesday, May 09, 2012

A few months back, I was on Dr Oz website were he was giving away for testing on cholesterol, glucose and weight. So I manage to win one. My appointment was yesterday. I was glad I did it. I fasted 8 hours before, weighted myself 147.8 not bad. I get there they take my blood pressure which is high of course, then they take my blood for the different test. Then send me to another person who did my waist, height and weight. I get on the scale for her to weigh me it says i weigh 141.2. Wow that is a big difference. I got on again to be sure of course it said i weigh 141.2. Most people be jumping up for joy not me. At least my test results were good except my hdl which was low. That is something I can take care of with the Doctor. The weight bothered me the most. So I get home weigh myself it says 147.6. No way I lost that amount of weight. So I am sticking to my scale. I could be wrong and buy a new one. I will stick to my scale.

Every scale is different. I think the important thing is to stick to the one you use all the time. So you know that on this scale you have lost weight. I went to the doctor recently and his scale is always shows more weight than mine. But I know on my scale I have lost 11 pounds and that is what I keep in mind.

it sometimes depends on the scale..sometimes digital scales are not as accurate as the ol stand by ones, my doc offic scale was lower than mine as well, although this is exciting im like u i stick to what mine says..recently i was watching a past episode of "ruby" and there was episode where her scale told her she had lost 20 lbs, but when she went to see the nutrtionist ..her scale said she had gained 20 lbs..ruby of course got so annoyed that she beat her scale until it blew into little pieces, although this i DONT recommend, it could just be the type of scale u have.

I feel like i am going back a step instead of forward

Tuesday, March 06, 2012

I feel lately that I am in a fog. I have so much going on. Its a flash back to the same time when i had the same feelings. I dealt with it by gaining all my weight back. It feels like I am interrupting everyone's schedule when i want to do something like walk in the park for a couple of hours. Its the only place i love to go to relax and relieve some stress. I keep saying to myself don't do it. You got this far don't give up. I don't want to take a backward step. I want to keep going and finish what i started. This time around its about me not them.

It can be hard for families to let mom have a little time to herself, but it is good not just for you but for them, too.
This hard spot won't last forever, you'll get through it & getting your walks in is going to help. emoticon

Just writing and getting it out there like you have, generally helps me.

When others can't walk with you, is it possible to walk by yourself? Some places that is not an option and it isn't as much fun, but if it is a safe option, you dont want to wait for someone else's schedule to free up and in the meantime prevent you from achieving your health goals. They have their own agendas to meet but once they see your determination, they might see things differently.

You might even see someone else you know, or someone else you can walk with.

For me, I had a group coming here to do Zumba. Then this one couldnt then that one couldnt and pretty soon it was just me. So that meant I wasn't do it either. But ya know what? I decided that I dont need them to do it with me. I just put my tapes in and go to town! That gave me confidence to know I could do other dvds and add ST w/o needing to have someone here to hold my hand. It does take discipline but I can visualize myself reaching my goal so it keeps me going.

I do not know your story, but I do know that you can NOT give up. You must persevere and continue to move forward towards your goals regardless.

You really CAN DO THIS!!

Happy Birthday To Me.

Friday, February 24, 2012

I can't believe its my Birthday. I am so happy with myself from last year until know. Weighing a total of 230 lbs starting this journey from last year, as of today 157 lbs emoticon. I sure have come a long way. One thing I am grateful for is how sparkpeople have made this journey a learning a experience. I have my confidence back thought I lost it. It was there waiting for me. Now I can tackle life's challenges a little better. My journey is still not complete but I know, I can do it.
