Day 3 accountability

Thursday, January 10, 2013

Wednesday, January 9, 2013

emoticon 1) - 30 minute run on the treadmill; 10 minutes stretching
emoticon 2) - 1,970 calories. Christmas cookies are gone, but we had an anniversary/birthday party at work. I ate at the pot luck luncheon and had anniversary cake, too.
emoticon 3) - 5 hours
emoticon 4) - 2 fruit, 1 veggie
emoticon 5) - 8+ glasses of water

January 2013 accountability goals --
1( - Exercise at least 30 minutes/day 6 days/week. Per the book, "Younger Next Year for Women," I am going to shoot for 6 days a week of exercise - 2 days of strength training (I'm taking a strength training class) and 4 days of aerobic exercise, mostly treadmill, elliptical, or online videos at this time of year.
2) - Track my food and limit my calories to less than 1750 per day. Goal weight is 145 pounds by end of 2013. I started 2013 at 153.8.
3) - Sleep 6+ hours per night. Stop Sparking by 10pm. The number of hours that I sleep is directly related to how late I am Sparking/Facebooking.
4) - Eat 1 fruit and 4 veggies per day.
5) - Drink 8+ glasses of water daily.

Day 2 accountability

Wednesday, January 09, 2013

Tuesday, January 8, 2013

emoticon 1 - 30 minutes Pilates followed by 45 minutes of upper body workout
emoticon 2 - 1,832 calories. I indulged in the leftover Christmas cookies for breakfast, then took them to work, so they are gone now.
emoticon 3 - 5 hours (Facebooking til midnight)
emoticon 4 - 4 veggies, but no fruit
emoticon 5 - 10+ glasses of water

I signed up for the indoor tri. Gotta admit, I'm just a little bit scared - because I haven't been in training for it. This will be an experience.

Day 1 accountability

Tuesday, January 08, 2013

OK, there are still left-over Christmas cookies in the house. I can see that if I go an entire week without reporting, I could get pretty far off track. So, here's the truth from yesterday. I'm coming clean.

Monday, January 7, 2013

emoticon 1 - 30 minutes on the elliptical/stair stepper combo machine followed by 5 minutes of stretching.
emoticon 2 - 2,173 calories. I indulged in the leftover Christmas cookies last night - and again this morning for breakfast. I brought them to work so they are gone now, but today's calories probably won't be any prettier than yesterday's.
emoticon 3 - I was IN bed for 5.5 hours. My cell phone, which is my alarm clock, decided to be nothing but a blank screen last evening. So my sleep was somewhat restless worrying that the alarm wouldn't go off this morning. It did go off, fortunately, and the phone is now fixed thanks to remote trouble shooting from Verizon.
emoticon 4 - Got my fruit and 4 veggies in.
emoticon 5 - Got my 8+ glasses of water in.

I'm signing up for the indoor tri as soon as I finish this blog. No more procrastinating and excuse making. Even though I don't think I'm ready for a tri (I was sick over the holidays and really didn't work out much), I'm never going to get ready by procrastinating.

I made sure all mine left with the guests; if the are here, they beg to be eaten! Discount the cookies; a temporary bump in the road, you're doing well. Start negotiating now for a healthy Valentines day. Flowers are nice. ;)

I took my kids old Halloween candy to work last week... I'm glad I'm not the only one who dumps their sweets off on the coworkers!! Love your blog. I ate Christmas cookies for breakfast a couple times a few weeks ago. I'd still be doing it if I had the, around! Good for you-out of sight, out of mind!
Ps: DO THE INDOOR TRI! You got this!!! emoticon

January 2013 accountability goals

Monday, January 07, 2013

I started accountability blogging last January after seeing how well my Spark Buddy FREDANN did with it. She lost 6 pounds in December of 2011 while I gained. I thought that I would start accountability blogging again. I may not do it daily. With my work and homework schedule, it got hard to do it daily last year and I just quit doing it. So, this won't necessarily be a daily blog, but I'll try to do it weekly.

January 2013 accountability goals --
emoticon 1 - Exercise at least 30 minutes per day. Per the book, "Younger Next Year," I am going to shoot for 6 days a week of exercise - 2 days of strength training (I'm taking a strength training class) and 4 days of aerobic exercise, mostly treadmill, elliptical, or online videos at this time of year.
emoticon 2 - Track my food and limit my calories to less than 1750 per day. Goal weight is 145 pounds by end of 2013. I started 2013 at 153.8.
emoticon 3 - Sleep 6+ hours per night. Stop Sparking by 10pm. The number of hours that I sleep is directly related to how late I am Sparking/Facebooking.
emoticon 4 - Eat 1 fruit and 4 veggies per day.
emoticon 5 - Drink 8+ glasses of water daily.

I'm contemplating doing an indoor triathlon this weekend, but I haven't been working out regularly, so not sure how well I will do. Maybe that would be a good benchmark. They have another indoor tri in March. I could compare my progress from January to March!

An indoor tri sounds fun. I did a couple of those for practice last year all by myself. Hard to believe, but I actually like the open water swim better than a pool swim. Go figure! Looking forward to reading all about it.

Drinking enough water throughout the day is hard for me because it tastes so plain to me. When I add water flavorings, it gets easier. -- Lou

emoticon Early on I had to break habits that triggered me to eat. Silly games but they worked. One of my habits when bored was to sigh take a deep breath and exhale "I'm hungry"Didn't take long to break that! For every "I'm hungry" I had to immediately say: "I'm thirsty!", "I'm thirsty!", "I'm thirsty!" Yep, 3 for one and it worked! My other nemisis was "I'm tired!" had to replace that with 3 "I'm energized!'s" That worked too, silly; but definitely an attention getter. Break the habit of mindless habits and mindless eating! emoticon
