Day 151 Accountability

Monday, June 18, 2012

Monday --

Back to work, back on track. After eating whatever I wanted yesterday, I am back on track to healthy eating today. I hope I didn't do too much damage on the scale.

emoticon1 - Exercise - 30 minutes aerobic stations; 45 minutes strength training.
emoticon2 - Calories - 1,675.
emoticon3 - Sleep - 5.5 hours. Spark curfew - 10pm.
emoticon4 - Freggies - 2 fruit, 5 veggies.

June 2012 accountability goals --
1 - Exercise at least 30 minutes per day. Per the book, "Younger Next Year," I am going to shoot for 6 days a week of exercise - 2 days of weight training (I'm taking a weight training class) and 4 days of aerobic exercise, mostly biking and swimming.
2 - Track my food and limit my calories to less than 1700 per day. Goal weight is 145 pounds by end of June, so cutting back on calories this month.
3 - Sleep 6+ hours per night. Stop Sparking by 10pm. The number of hours that I sleep is directly related to how late I am Sparking/Facebooking. I've been having a hard time making curfew the last few months. I'm cutting it back to 10pm this month. If I can keep the internet curfew discipline, my sleep will fall in line.
4 - Eat 1 fruit and 4 veggies per day.

Day 150 Accountability

Sunday, June 17, 2012

Sunday --

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. We had a wonderful day with my day. All 8 of my siblings and most of my nieces and nephews were at Dad's for brunch. I ate too much, though. I have my work cut out for me this week. Here's my Daddy -

emoticon1 - Exercise - planned rest day.
emoticon2 - Calories - 2,140. It was a buffet brunch at Dad's. I don't do well at buffets. The sweets table always calls me.
emoticon3 - Sleep - 6.5 hours plus a 1 hour nap with Harry this afternoon. I have to go back to work tomorrow. I'm going to miss these afternoon naps with my Sweetie! Spark curfew - 10pm.
emoticon4 - Freggies - 1 fruit, 5 veggies. Does carrot cake count as a veggie? If so, then make that 6 veggies!

Great picture of your Dad. Buffets are my downfall as well. Even just a little of everything is too much. But it is Fathers Day.

Day 149 Accountability

Saturday, June 16, 2012

Saturday --

It was in the 90's and humid today. We are desparatly in need of rain. It's lightning and thundering now. I hope it produces rain, and not just a light/sound show!

I got in 0.38 miles of swim laps today in 25 minutes. I have a couple of months to keep improving. The triathlon has a 1/2 mile race. It's going to take some hard work and perseverence on the swim part.

emoticon1 - Exercise - 25 minutes lap/tri training.
emoticon2 - Calories - 2,035. Dessert at Dad's at lunch, and then again with Harry at dinner.
emoticon3 - Sleep - 5.5 hours plus a 2 hour nap with Harry this afternoon. Spark curfew - 11pm.
emoticon4 - Freggies - 2 fruit, 6 veggies.

Great work on the swimming Nancy! I raced at Pleasant Prairie, and I remember the swim well. It looks different all in one line rather that 30 pool lengths stacked up. You will be great, and I'm so excited that you are going for it. Create your plan and stick with it. How do you like your new tri suit??

You are doing great! We need rain too; I was digging to set plants yesterday and went down 12" , bone dry all the way! This was in an area I ran the hose on for an hour on Thursday; it's so dry, watering is not helping. Even with watering if we don't get rain soon my gardens will suffer. "Feels" like rain today, but so often it's been going around us! Be well!
BTW, sometimes I actually do eat dessert first; or "instead of".

Day 148 Accountability & Weigh-in Day

Saturday, June 16, 2012

Friday --

WOOT! I'm back into the 140's - weighed in today at 149.6. Yes, I say back into. I was in the 140's in December of 2010. But I had double foot surgeries that month and ended up frost-biting 3 toes from bandages that were too constricting and then over-icing them trying to reduce the swelling. After that, I had a downward (or should I say upward) spiral of emotional and stress eating. I wasn't able to work out for almost 6 months which added to the 17 pound weight gain. I was in danger of losing the middle toe on my right foot. By the grace of God, I didn't lose any toes - as you can see in the photo. I don't know how my scale calculates fat %. The fat calculating machine that I use at the health club says that I'm 26.4%, and I choose to believe that one! I'm 5'9" and my BMI is 22.

Harry had his appointment with his internist this afternoon. He got a good report and is healing well. What he didn't get was a release to drive. The internist said it's not his place to release him to drive - it's the surgeon's call. I suspected that, based on things the internist said on Harry's release from the hospital. The internist kept deferring to the surgeon then. Harry asked if the doc could at least release him to drive to the grocery store. The doc said, "no way!" He's bummed, but Tuesday will be here before he knows it - that's when he sees his surgeon.

I forgot to share yesterday's exciting news! My physical therapist gave me her blessing to do the Pleasant Prairie, WI triathlon in August. In fact, she said that if I do it, she would consider doing it with me. I told her that I was thinking of doing the super sprint race - 1/4 mile swim, 10 mile bike ride, 3K run. She felt that I should be able to do the regular sprint - 1/2 mile swim, 12 mile bike ride and 5K run. She knows my goal and said that my therapy will be geared toward that race. AND, my tri suit arrived in the mail today, so I'm psyched!

emoticon1 - Exercise - 20 minute walk with Harry; 23 minutes lap swimming to prepare for my tri. I've said it before, swimming doesn't come naturally to me. This will be the hardest part of the tri for me.
emoticon2 - Calories - 1,597.
emoticon3 - Sleep - 6.5 hours plus a 2 hour nap with Harry this afternoon. Spark curfew - 11pm.
emoticon4 - Freggies - 2 fruit, 5 veggies.

gee, i had no idea you were so tall. for some reason i always pictured you as a shorty! how do you like the suit? i tried that one piece on, but liked the fit of the 2 piece better. i could probably use the one piece now though because the 2 is too big! oh well. i bought it a year ago.
bummer about Harry not being able to drive, but some things don't need to be rushed in to.
have you signed up for the tri? i think it is the same day as mine. so, we will tri together at a distance!

What a gorgeous day we had in Chicagoland. We desperately need rain but I'll take the blue skies and sunshine for the weekend. It can rain on Monday! I have Fridays off for the summer, so I'm looking forward to the beautiful weather.
