Day 102 Accountability

Easter Saturday --

emoticon1 - Exercise - 30 minutes of physical therapy.
emoticon2 - 100 mile challenge - 0 miles today, 49.4 miles for the month.
emoticon3 - Calories - 2,666. Chocolate bunny and Cadbury egg called to me. Isn't 666 the sign of the devil? Funny that my calories would have that number in it!
emoticon4 - Sleep - 8 hours.
emoticon5 - Spark curfew - 10:30 pm.
emoticon6 - Freggies - 1 fruit, 5 veggies.
emoticon7 - Soul food - Acts 4:13-21. Peter and John are warned by the Sanhedrin on no account to make statements or to teach in the name of Jesus. They retorted, "We cannot stop proclaiming what we have seen and heard." At the risk of punishment, they continued to teach about Jesus. Am I that bold about my faith?


April 2012 accountability goals --
1 - Exercise at least 30 minutes per day, 5 days a week. I had to back off of running until I get the results of my MRI in early April.
2 - I accepted a team challenge to log bicycling miles in April. My goal is 100 miles. My team mates have decided we can rack up the miles any way we can. Mine will be a combination of bicycling and elliptical.
3 - Track my food and limit my calories to less than 1800 per day. Goal weight is 145 pounds by end of May.
4 - Sleep 6+ hours per night.
5 - Stop Sparking by 10:30pm. I'm moving up my curfew by 30 minutes. I'm not getting to bed early enough to get my six hours of sleep. We'll see if this 10:30 curfew works better in April.
6 - Eat 1 fruit and 4 veggies per day.
7 - Feed my soul by reading scripture daily.

Day 101 Accountability & Weigh-in

Easter Friday --

A week of Easter and birthday celebrations finally caught up with me. I gained 1.8 pounds this week - not surprising, if you look at my calorie counts this week. I did much better today, although still a little high on the calories, and got a lot more exercise in than usual.

emoticon1 - Exercise - 20 minutes recumbent bike; 25 minutes stretching and PT exercises; 80 minute walk.
emoticon2 - 100 mile challenge - 5.53 miles today, 49.4 miles for the month.
emoticon3 - Calories - 1,942. Did a little better today, but still over on calories. I was craving chocolate, so nailed the rest of the Fannie May chocolate rabbit.
emoticon4 - Sleep - 5 hours.
emoticon5 - Spark curfew - 10:30 pm.
emoticon6 - Freggies - 1 fruit, 4 veggies.
emoticon7 - Soul food - John 21:1-14. The disciples fish overnight, but catch nothing. Jesus appears on the shore in the morning and tells them to cast the net to the other side of the boat. They do not recognize Jesus, but cast their nets where he tells them to and catch a boatload of fish - 153 to be exact! John recognizes Jesus and tells Peter, "It is the Lord." Peter jumps into the water and walks to shore. Jesus cooks them fish and bread for breakfast. This is His third appearance to them since His resurrection. This proves, once again, that we will get to eat real food after we've been raised from the dead!

    now that the Easter and Birthday week have passed and the Fannie Mae bunny is gone, bet you jump right back on the track and meet that weight goal.
you are doing emoticon with your accountabilty and goals.

do you think that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord? i sure hope that is right. i hate the thought of that stinking dirt nap waiting it out.

    Stick with it Nancy; those calories haven't settled in and set up housekeeping yet! They can be swept out now a lot easier than if you ignore them. New weight is often a shift in water because of the extra carbs. Just stay on track, drink your water and watch your calories; burning a few extra is a good idea too. Ups and downs are normal. You are doing great!

Day 100 Accountability

Easter Thursday --

I've been doing this accountability blog for 100 days. I was hoping that I'd have a great 100th day to report to you. But, alas, I'm still celebrating my birthday with friends (lunch and dinner dates today!), so this isn't the blog I thought I'd be writing.

Here are some things that I've learned from 100 days of accountability blogging:
1 - I will always need to be vigilant about my calories if I want to maintain my weight and reach my health goals.
2 - Accountability works for me.
3 - I don't have to be ashamed for having a bad food day.
4 - The truth will set me free!
5 - It's not just stressful things that can get me off track. Even something good, such as celebrating a special occasion, can throw a monkey wrench in my progress.
6 - Twenty or fifty or one hundred days of good nutrition doesn't mean that I can't lose it, go backward, and regain weight.
7 - I will always need the support and encouragement of my Spark Buddies. People outside of Spark just don't get it. You guys have me for life!

emoticon3 - Calories - 2,348. I was treated to birthday lunch and dinner with friends today. The restaurant always brings free dessert on your birthday. You have to eat it, don't you? I'd typically enjoy all this attention, but this is screwing up my accountability streak!
emoticon4 - Sleep - 5.5 hours.
emoticon5 - Spark curfew - 11:45 pm.
emoticon6 - Freggies - 1 fruit, 4 veggies.
emoticon7 - Soul food - Luke 24:35-48. Jesus appears to his disciples while they are recounting the story of Jesus walking with them to Emmaus. They are startled and think they are seeing a ghost. Jesus shows them his hands and feet and then asks for something to eat to prove to them that he is not a ghost. It's nice to know that when we are raised from the dead, we'll still be able to eat food!!!

    WOW! Nancy Congratulations!! Sorry I'm reporting so many days after the fact, but your 100th blog is just awesome! I love what you've learned, especially the part about the truth. I am so proud of you and everything you have accomplished!
And you're right, people outside of Spark don't get it! We're here to stay!
Here's to many, many more accountable days, and much success ahead of us!

Day 99 Accountability

Easter Wednesday --

emoticon1 - Exercise - 40 minutes swimming; 15 minutes stretching and PT exercises.
emoticon2 - 100 mile challenge - 0 miles today, 35.87 miles for the month.
emoticon3 - Calories - 1,824. I got the calories closer to goal, but I can't say they were healthy calories. My caterer friend brought in birthday cookies for me. I ate several of them, so instead skipped a meal to make up for the calories.
emoticon4 - Sleep - 5 hours.
emoticon5 - Spark curfew - midnight.
emoticon6 - Freggies - 1 fruit, 0 veggies.
emoticon7 - Soul food - Luke 24:13-35. Jesus walks on the road to Emmaus with his disciples, but they do not recognize him until the breaking of the bread. How often do I miss Jesus in everyday life? I will look for the God-incidences tomorrow.


NEW MONTH, NEW GOALS! The old ones are working really well, so i'm just tweaking them. Following my buddy, ThinGettinOut's lead, I removed water as a goal, since I almost never miss that one.

Day 98 Accountability

Easter Tuesday --

emoticon1 - Exercise - 25 minutes on elliptical; 20 minutes stretching and PT exercises.
emoticon2 - 100 mile challenge - 2.76 miles today, 35.87 miles for the month.
emoticon3 - Calories - 2,984. I sat on the sofa watching The Biggest Loser eating a piece of cake! What's with that? I'm out of control. Back to basics tomorrow.
emoticon4 - Sleep - 5 hours.
emoticon5 - Spark curfew - midnight or later. Had to catch up with my blog-mates!
emoticon6 - Freggies - 1 fruit, 3 veggies.
emoticon7 - Soul food - John 20:11-18. Jesus appears to Mary Magdalene. She is the first person to see the resurrected Lord. I think that's so cool that Jesus came to her first instead of to his diciples. Just goes to show that even when God wants something done right, He trusts a woman to get it done!

    OK...It's not funny, but number 3 made me laugh! There have been times when I was eating chocolate chips and tuning in to the Biggest Loser. I would ask my DH...."do you think there is something wrong with me that I think it's acceptable to inhale chocolate while watching a weigh loss show?"......he just rolled his eyes! emoticon

    I hope you have #3 back on track. I'm proud of you for tracking it! Mindless eating is the enemy! I have those rebounds too; post holiday. I've concluded it's because I push through the holiday fun and touch all the bases and then. WUMP! Down I go! Dog tired and making unhealthy choices. Monday was rough, Tues was better, struggling today because computer problems have me stressed; thankfully nothing in the house to tempt me! The cake would be gone!     Okay Nancy, time to get back on track with your calories! It's so hard to get back on track after days of celebrating, but I know you can do it! You are being honnest about your food intake, your accountability is fantastic, and you have amazing consistency! Plus, if I know how to count, you are now 1 day away from your 100th day of accountability! That is really, really awesome!
