Day 81 Accountability

Saturday, March 24, 2012

Saturday --

emoticon1 - Exercise - planned day of rest. I was at a church conference today. I did a lot of walking around the facility, but not enough to be counted as aerobic.
emoticon2 - Calories - 1824.
emoticon3 - Water - 8 cups.
emoticon4 - Sleep - 6.5 hours.
emoticon5 - Spark curfew - 10pm.
emoticon6 - Tax prep - done & filed! And my refund is now in my savings account!
emoticon7 - Freggies - 2 fruit, 6 veggies.

March 2012 accountability goals --
1 - Exercise at least 30 minutes per day, 5 days a week. I'm training for a triathlon sprint. I did something to my knee (perhaps torn cartilage), so I'm not able to run right now. My knee swells anytime I do something that is high impact. So, in March, I will swim, use the elliptical machine, walk, or bike as the weather permits.
2 - Track my food and limit my calories to no more than 1800 per day. Lose 5 pounds by Easter so that I'll weigh what my driver's license says that I weigh.
3 - Drink 8 cups of water each day.
4 - Sleep 6+ hours per night.
5 - Stop Sparking by 11pm. The # of hours that I sleep is directly proportional to how late I Spark. I'm going to be accountable to this Spark curfew.
6 - Progress on tax preparation. Goal date to get everything to the accountant is March 19.
7 - Eat 1 fruit and 4 veggies per day.
8 - Report my progress to the world every day by writing my accountability blog.

Yes, how was the church conference? What was your takeaway from it? I will be attending a ladies conference next month myself. It is something I look forward to every year. I love taking home some of the sessions too so I can listen to them over and over again. Otherwise I would forget everything I heard the moment I walked out the door.

Thanks for the flavoring info on my blog. I need to check into this. I also drink diet Snapple teas and I drink other drinks without sugar.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Day 80 Accountability & Weigh-in Day

Friday, March 23, 2012

Friday --

Today was weigh-in day for my team. I was up 0.4 pound. I wasn't too surprised at that, since I haven't really had a hard workout for the last 2 weeks while babying my knee. But, that little increase got me up and out the door this morning for a workout on the elliptical. I wore my knee brace and that really seemed to help keep the pain and swelling down. Or, maybe the fact that I haven't taxed my knee for 2 weeks is why the pain and swelling are down. Regardless, it felt great to do a good, sweaty work out for a change!

emoticon1 - Exercise - 30 minutes on the elliptical, 15 minutes upper body strength training, 10 minutes stretching.
emoticon2 - Calories - 2500+. I was at my girlfriend's daughter's graduation from the police academy party tonight. A bowl of cashews taunted me all night, and I kept going back to it for more. I'm guestimating my calories. If I ate what I think I did in cashews, I ate double my fat allowance for the day! YIKES! Good thing I had that sweaty workout this morning. It will take me a few days to work off those extra fat grams.
emoticon3 - Water - 8 cups.
emoticon4 - Sleep - 5 hours.
emoticon5 - Spark curfew - 11:45pm. Hey, it's Friday night. OK, I'm going to bed now! I've got a conference all day tomorrow and I need my beauty sleep.
emoticon6 - Tax prep - done & filed!
emoticon7 - Freggies - 2 fruit, 3 veggies. I'm short on veggies today, unless I can count the tomato sauce that was on my stuffed shells!

sounds like a fun time @ the police academy graduation party. i cannot get started on nuts. they are addictive. i think part of it is the salt. if i eat raw cashews, i am fine. it is the roasted ones that get me going.

betcha that workout felt great. keep going GirlFriend! emoticon

It sure is a fine line between gain and maintain isn't it? A half pound is not bad though. I think that is normal/natural to vary a pound or two. You are doing great and working within your ability. I'm just curious. Have you tried to swim laps on your own with out an instructor being there pointing out everything wrong? Sometimes I think you have to go with what is naturally comfortable to you to get from one end to another continuously. Don't give up yet. Like I said, there are many athletes looking for someone to do a relay with. Have a great weekend...Jane

Yes, cashews are on my "list" of "can't eat just one or two" once I start, I'm in trouble. But, you will recoup; hope you had a good time. Take care of that knee! Don't push it, if necessary back up on calories a little more until you are back to full activity. Be sure to keep the water coming; both because your knee needs it and because this warmer weather is causing us all to need a little more. Overall you had a great day; it's just harder when you are close to goal!

Day 77 Accountability

Tuesday, March 20, 2012

Tuesday --

I had the MRI on my knee this morning. I won't get the results for 2 weeks, since my doctor is on vacation. In the meantime, I'm biking or swimming. I'm avoiding any impact on the knee and the swelling is pretty much staying down. I had a busy and productive day today!

emoticon1 - Exercise - 60 minutes recumbent bike, 15 minutes stretching.
emoticon2 - Calories - 1559.
emoticon3 - Water - 9 cups.
emoticon4 - Sleep - 4.5 hours. Old habits die hard! I actually slept during my MRI this morning. Even with all the knocking the machine does during the test, I slept. Goes to show how tired I was!
emoticon5 - Spark curfew - 11:05pm. Close enough!
emoticon6 - Tax prep - done & filed!
emoticon7 - Freggies - 2 fruit, 5 veggies.
