Day 72 Accountability

Thursday, March 15, 2012

Thursday --

A pretty routine day. I attended a Sports Nutrition seminar tonight and got some tips on fueling my body for my upcoming triathlon. I see the orthopedic doctor in the morning about my knee that keeps swelling. He may have other ideas about me participating in a tri. I didn't listen to him last fall when he told me not to participate in my first 5K, and I took 2nd place in my division. hehe. Wait til I tell him that! Maybe I'll wear my medal in to the appointment. Yeah, that's what I'll do!

emoticon1 - Exercise - 40 minutes recumbent bike, 25 minutes upper body strength training, 10 minutes stretching.
emoticon2 - Calories - 1558.
emoticon3 - Water - 10 cups.
emoticon4 - Sleep - 6 hours.
emoticon5 - Spark curfew - 11pm.
emoticon6 - Tax prep - done & filed!
emoticon7 - Freggies - 1/2 fruit, 4 veggies.
emoticon8 - Blog

March 2012 accountability goals --
1 - Exercise at least 30 minutes per day, 5 days a week. I'm training for a triathlon sprint. I did something to my knee (perhaps torn cartilage), so I'm not able to run right now. My knee swells anytime I do something that is high impact. So, in March, I will swim, use the elliptical machine, walk, or bike as the weather permits.
2 - Track my food and limit my calories to no more than 1800 per day. Lose 5 pounds by Easter so that I'll weigh what my driver's license says that I weigh.
3 - Drink 8 cups of water each day.
4 - Sleep 6+ hours per night.
5 - Stop Sparking by 11pm. The # of hours that I sleep is directly proportional to how late I Spark. I'm going to be accountable to this Spark curfew.
6 - Progress on tax preparation. Goal date to get everything to the accountant is March 19.
7 - Eat 1 fruit and 4 veggies per day.
8 - Report my progress to the world every day by writing my accountability blog.

Hope your appointment goes well. I would wear the medal. I know I'll never do a tri. I need to sign up for a REAL 5K. I saw one the end of April for the Ronald McDonald House at the local lake. I should sign up. I wanna be just like you ... minus the tri. emoticon

Oh! You had a fantastic day my friend! Way to go!!
Does the recumbant bike make your knee feel a little better? Sometimes it can help, depending on what the problem is of course.
Wearing your medal on your appointment is an awesome idea!! I wish I could be there to see the doc's face!! Of course he may just give the "I told you so" speech but still, it's worth the brag!!

You're right, being with family is most important. I am sorry about your brother-in-law's sister.

I remember when I used to stay up close to midnight every night. It was when I was caring for mom. It was the only time I had a few hours to myself. Now it's a goal to be in bed by 10:00 a.m. and asleep. I love it! Makes getting up early much easier.

Hope your day is beautiful! 83 in the heartland and storms tonight. Crazy Kansas weather!
